Hello - Goodbye
We are sad to be saying goodbye to two of our Design Team Members. Both Monica and Libeeti have decided to step down from the Design Team at this time. We wish them both well, and hope they will continue to play along with us here at Scrap Our Stash when they can. Their blog links will be placed on the sidebar under "Former Design Team Members" in order for all of us to keep up with them.
We are happy to be saying Hello to Sue Althouse. Sue was a Guest Design Team Member for the month of February. I have asked her to stay on as a full Design Team Member and she has agreed. I'm sure she will be a great addition to our already great Design Team.

Thanks for yet another fun challenge. I have attached my take on the February Love challenge.
This is a page of my two sons. These are their school pictures and I have been hanging on to them for months, trying to figure out how to scrap them. This is what I came up with.
I used StampinUp paper for the base and the newspaper like paper is from my stash, I love this paper. I inked the edges and drug some ink on the paper itself, I also crinkled up the paper to make it look vintage. I used Recollection Gemstone for the two picture frames. I cuttlebugged the frames with the Heritage folder. Cuttlebug has folders to match cricut cartridges, so this one matches the Heritage Cartridge. I used the Heritage cart for the title. The tickets are Tim Holtz Adage Tickets. I also cuttlebugged them with the Divine Swirls folder.
Thanks for another great challenge. Your blog is so much fun and gets the creative juices flowing!!

March Guest Design Team Member Danielle
My name is Danielle Gaudet and I have been scrapping for over 15 years. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for over 23 years. I have one teenage daughter and two cute, little fur babies. I live in Southeast Louisiana and I am very grateful for the heat, as I don’t do well in cold weather. The home in my “HOME” project is our 5th house. It was one of the hardest moves we ever had to make, thus far. Even though I enjoy scrapbooking, my first love is working on projects and making cards.
Be sure to come back and see what Danielle contributes to our March Challenge (to be announced tomorrow).

March Guest Design Team Member
Hi! I'm Faye and I am super excited to be a guest design team member. I am a traditional paper scrapper and have been since I was like 12 when I only used construction paper, stickers, and my mom's pinking shears. My style has changed a lot since then :) My big news these days is that I just bought my first house. I am super excited to be a home owner but the packing and moving process can be daunting. Can't wait to be done and have my scrapbook supplies back out!!
Make sure you come back in March - not only to see what the March Challenge is - but how Faye and our Design Team and Readers complete the challenge!

February Challenge by Kathy
These are my LOVES - just some random pictures of my 3 Grandkidos - each with a hat! What's not to love about them?
This was a piece of paper I got ages ago (using my Stash - which I love) - on clearance of course (I always love a bargain).
The Little Things and embelies at the bottom were printed right on the page (which I love because I didn't have to do much). All I did was add the pictures and the words What Matters? (which I love because it was super simple) cut with Lipstick Sizzix dies (which is a font I love).

Hi there, I hope you enjoy this layout for the February "Love" Challenge! I had a great time using some new techniques to make it. I made my own background paper using Distress Ink and Glimmer Mist. The cupid frame is an image from Graphics Fairy that I printed on photo paper and then sponged with the same ink used for the background paper. I hand stitched, gathered, and glued the burgundy ribbon before layering it with a velvet piece of ribbon. I also cross-stitched some X's in the corners with the same colour thread. The silver buckle on the black ribbon is from my mom's ancient stash of buttons I "borrowed" from her, and don't you just love the winged heart? It's made from Grungeboard inked with Distress Inks and brushed with Perfect Pearls. This is the first time I've ever used a gem fluorish, and I love it - I'll definitely be buying more of these in the future! And that's about it! Here is my take on the February Love challenge. I made this layout, minus the pictures, last year using items from a kit from the now-defunct Scrap for a Cure and have been waiting for just the right pictures to complete it. I finally got some good and recent ones of my husband and I, so I knew now was the time to finish up this layout! On the journaling card I wrote part of the Bible verse that was read at our wedding (it's Colossians 3:12-14). The word "love" is in the title of this and the whole theme of the layout is about love.
Thanks!

The word "Love" isn't in the title, but when you look at these photos, there is no doubt that these two are madly in love with each other. The photos are from my daughter and son in law's engagement photo shoot in October 2009. They're my favorite photos of the two of them, precisely because the pictures capture the way we see them all the time.
The Train song "Marry Me" came into my mind when I sat down recently to scrap the photos. I used my new favorite technique to place the buttons randomly: I let them drop from my hand and adhered them where they fell. Try it, it's fun!

For some reason, I seem to have a large stash of love themed papers but rarely ever use them. So when I saw the Feb., challenge it was the perfect opportunity to raid my stash and scrap this photo of my husband and I that was taken last year at a Valentine’s banquet. The patterned paper is by Heidi Swapp, diecut letters by Quickutz, and the ribbon is from my stash. I added stickles to the hearts and inked the background paper with distress ink.

I have joined in with your challenge this week, thanks for a lovely set of great DT designs for inspiration!
I have posted this on my blog just now:
"Scrap our Stash Challenge blog has a theme of 'love' for February. I have done a layout of Emma, about a week or so old, on her first walk all tucked up in her pram.
Recipe:
Paper Artsy hot picks stamp and vintage photo distress ink, for the scrolls stamped around the edge of the background DP
EK Success lattice strip punch to make the layered background behind the photo.
In hindsight I should not have used tape as the page is sticky to touch, I should have bought some spray adhesive!
The flowers are PA again, stamped onto DP and some plain ones cut with a PA flower die, then all scrunched up, inked and gathered with a brad.
The butterfly punches are both Martha Stewart and my faves
The scrolls, bird and corners are Marrianne Design.
The lovely teardrop lace ribbon and half pearls finish it off.
Cheers!

February is a very special month for hubby and I because that is the month that we were married and so this month my theme is love cards, pages, and banners. I was so excited while searching for digital dies to use on a card for him. I originally wanted to use a frog die but instead I thought to send that to a family member who I also love very much but this little robot was perfect. And the greeting that came with it was awesome too. Because my hubby often says to me that no matter what I can't figure out, I know that we compute. So this is the card that I am actually going to be giving to him on our anniversary this year.
Supplies used
K&co-Amy Butler collection
Impressions-black patterned paper
Recollections-Rhinestone stickers
Tim Holtz- gears
Quickutz- metal gear dies
Fiskars quote bubble- cut once with the punch then hand cut inside to make a shadow
Lettering Delights- Programmed for love svg files
Misc- floss
Handwritten greeting
You can also check out my blog to see other cards, banners and love themed items that I am making this month for family and friends. Smiles, Tracy

I used a photo from our Family Reunion last summer. I placed a heart shaped doily on the background paper to use as a mask and used a Shimmer Spray on the whole page. This sticker sentiment from 3 Bugs in a Rug was perfect for this photo! Great challenge! It was fun to create a page about love and not use red and pink! lol

Because we just celebrated Valentine's Day, I decided to make a layout with my husband in it. We have been married 11 years and he is the love of my life. I took the picture when we were eating on a pier in the Bahamas. I used Prima paper, as well as lots of flowers from both Prima and Petaloo. I also used a beautiful metal accent from Creative Imaginations. It was originally silver, so I used Ranger's watermelon alcohol ink to make it red.

Design Team Member Tracy submitted this project for the February Love Challenge. She said:
Our family recently moved from Minnesota to Arizona leaving behind my entire side of the family. And since living here my family seems to have gotten more involved with our kids and also making sure that they keep in touch with them. But my Grandma Jessie (who raised me much of my life) has never missed any birthday or holiday and she often calls just to talk on the phone with the kids. All of them, even my one year old gets to talk to her. She amazes me how she is able to sit and chat with them even when it's about something that she really doesn't understand but she is amazing. And so on Valentine's Day I send her a care package from us. It is never the same thing, sometimes it's gift cards but no matter what it is it comes with something handmade in it. This year I decided to pull out one of those mailboxes from Target's dollar spot that I just had to have, but never used. And filled it with candy. But it still was missing something special from each of us so I had the kids draw a picture, write a letter and record a song that she sings to them onto a cassette tape or something that they wanted to say to her (it was hard finding a cassette recorder! thank goodness for thrift stores!). This project was the most detailed and planned out project that I have done in years for her but it was because I love her dearly!
Supplies
Patterned papers-Chatterbox
Rub on-American Crafts
Ribbon-Unknown?
Button-Basic Grey
Deer stamp-unknown/unsure
handwritten greeting
Heart stick-Dollar Tree
Twine-Walmart brand

February Challenge By Christy
Design Team Member Christy submitted this layout for the February Love Challenge. She said, "Just us...the meaning of those two little words has changed so much over time. About ten years ago, it went from meaning just my husband and I to something more like "just we three" when my son came along. I like both, but I do want to share with my son what his parent's life was like when they first met. I don't have a lot of photos of that time period. The one I found for this page is one of those rare few.
Of course, one of the first design elements that came to mind when making a page around this photo was "hearts." So I cut several of them out in a variety of colors from a Colorbok kit. 3-D foam really made the hearts and title pop. Pink fruit punch stickles added a little zing to the Colorbok alpha punchouts in the title.
The white Bazzill cardstock with embossed dots added some lovely texture to the page. I used my Martha Stewart punch across the bottom. I got out my trusty ruler and marker to pen a border, then added some hand stitching with my Sew Easy. Overall, it was a fast but fun page. I am working on page two which will be all journaling about the things we liked to do before having a child. Who knows...I might share it here with you (if it's not too mushy, that is). Now it's your turn to create a project centered around something or someone you LOVE, please share it with us, here, at Scrap Our Stash! See all the details HERE.

Pagerize Joni by Stacy H-W
Stacy says: I was so excited and inspired when I saw Joni's Pagerize This layout. I immediately printed out the picture, took it to my craft desk and immediately got to work.
I decided to switch the base paper to black and only used red, black and white on the layout. Instead of sewing I used my white pen to imitate the stitching.
My mother crocheted the white flower. I have been "saving" it. Not sure why I am saving it because I have a hundred of them and she makes more all the time! lol
I used flowers, ribbon tape, chipboard letters, bling and brads all from my stash.
I love how it turned out!

The photo in the LO is of my husband and me right after we got engaged. He took me to Breckenridge, Colorado for a ski trip, I had no idea he was going to pop the question! I decided to make a simple but cute card. I wanted to use the traditional Valentines Day colors but throw a pop of some not so traditional colors in as well to liven things up! When I first heard of the February Challenge I immediately knew what I would scrap. I decided to use the title of my favorite love song as inspiration for my layout.
That song is At Last by Etta James. I adore that song! And it went so well with my plans for this layout.
The subject of my layout is my dd. We waited almost 4 years to finally get to go to China and bring home our baby girl. This is a picture of her that was taken in China by her Foster Grandmother.
I used some gorgeous papers that I ordered online and have no idea where they are from!!!! (sorry) I pulled flowers from my stash and inked them up and layered them with other flowers from my stash. I took some white embellies and inked them in different colors to go with my layout better. A few brads, some fiber...and it came together so nicely.
So here is my February "LOVE" challenge....where is yours??!! See all the details on how you can take the February Challenge HERE!

Here is my layout for the February Challenge of something to do with Love. I'm really loving everyday life right now, getting through the winter months and taking advantage of indoor activities. This layout depicts a typical winter weekend afternoon at our house. It isn't very exciting, but it reminds me of my grandparents. In their retirement years, lunch was followed by a game of gin rummy while watching golf on TV. Now we are following in their footsteps with our own version. Since we're not retired yet, this is something we look forward to on cold winter weekends. Gotta love that!
Journaling reads: playing Scrabble + watching college basketball = a perfect winter afternoon!
