Meet May Guest Design Team Member Helen
Hello! I'm Helen and I am honoured to be a Guest Design Team Member at Scrap Our Stash!
I am married to a wonderful man who supports my addiction, and never asks why I need more stuff! I have two boys, ages 20 and 16, and they keep me hopping! Oh, and a little pooch who is my princess!
I have been scrapbooking for about 7 years now, and find that I am very linear, like clean lines, and have to challenge myself more to not do the same old, same old.
I also tend to be a bit detailed oriented!!! you know... buttons threaded, stitching here and there, it never ends!!
One of my favorite tools I use for scrapbooking are sketches! I love the versatility of them, and how they stretch my creative thinking!!
And mostly, I love getting to know some awesome scrapbookers in this world I call home!

Meet May Guest Design Team Member Theresa
Hello!!!!! My name is Theresa. I am so excited to be a Guest DT member for Scrap Our Stash. I live in Michigan and I’m married to my wonderful husband, have a step son(18 years old), and a very spoiled mini schnauzer.
My inspiration comes in many forms, but my 2 great nieces are a major source of my layouts these days.
I love participating in challenge blogs and using my stash of scrap goodies. I have so many gems hiding in my stash that they get forgotten. Challenges give me the extra push I need to use them.
I’ve been scrapping since 1997 when I put together an 8.5 x 11 album of a trip my husband and I took to Graceland that summer. The most advanced tools were deco edged scissors and some colored construction paper.. Lol.. I still have some of those scissors around here somewhere. But I didn’t really get going full force until around 2005 when my obsession gradually started. Now, it’s a part of my every day life. I couldn’t live without my paper and glue. You can see more of my creations on my blog http://chatty-scrapper.blogspot.com/.
When I’m not scrapbooking, you can catch me shopping for scrap goodies, watching QVC, reading, or watching TV/movies with my hubby.
I'm looking forward to the month ahead. Thanks for having me. Here is a layout of my great niece Aleya and my mom.

April Bring in the Sun Challenge
You know what I love about spring? The sun peeking out and the temperature getting warmer. Warm enough to wear a skirt or a dress! So when this month's Scrap Our Stash's April challenge was to incorporate sunshine into our craft, I was super excited.
So here is my creation using some old pattern paper in my stash, and some fun new stamps that I have acquired...
The sun's rays are made using the Bitty Banner stamp set, and the fun radiating circle is the flourish flower from The Craft's Meow. Isn't it great to stretch those stamps?
And a fun close-up of Little Frieda. A wonderful stamp created by The Craft's Meow. She is so sweet, don't you think? I love how she shyly looks over her shoulder...I think the sentiment "Just for You" is the perfect compliment.
So here is hoping that you are enjoying the fun, warm weather & sun like Little Frieda. If you would look like to play along, Scrap Our Stash's April challenge is running until April 30. So hurry and bring on your Sunshine project!

Sending some sunshine today. It's been raining for about 2 weeks here and the farmers are getting a little antsy to get into the fields. I had so much fun using my new Close To My Heart "Splendid Day" stampset (D1462) to make these cute cards. The best part is they are stamped on a card base and a few pieces on regular cardstock to give it some dimension.

Pagerize Karen by Christy
When I first saw Karen's page, I was drawn to the bright colour and the use of diagonal lines. It's a little like an X. She has made such a fun and eye catching page. One which immediately draws your eye to the main photo.
I used circles, the title and the journaling to help keep the X shape in place. Though my main photo is in a different place then hers, the main deisgn of the page still draws you eyes right to the main photo. To keep the page fun, I added some splashes of violet glimmer mist and doodled some faux stitching with a purple marker.

As I went through my photos, I realized I did not quite have smaller photos in my current "to scrap" stack that matched her strip down the side. So instead, I chose to use a larger 4x6 photo and some blocks of patterned paper in their place.

I also used a sketch from What's Scrapping. http://whatsscrapping.blogspot.com/2011/04/saturdays-sketch-42311.htmlThanks for the fun challenge! :)

Here is my submission for this month’s Bring in the Sun Challenge.
It was such a beautiful sunny day in Barcelona when we visited Camp Nou. The sun made the amazing stadium field seems extra colorful. I accented my sun page with a combination Cricut/Quickutz punch.
Great challenge this month, I really enjoyed playing along! My layout and additional detailed photos and information is posted on my blog at: http://scraplifterdesigns.blogspot.com/2011/04/ls-scrap-our-stash-challenge-6-scrap.html

Often times, many families have something they enjoy doing together. For us, that's playing in the pool. This also means we end up with photos of the same type of event over and over again. If you are like me (Obsessed with photos of your family) this may make it hard to narrow down the best photos for scrapping. Often, I just like to scrap them regardless of how many pool layouts end up in my albums. After all, it's about enjoying the process of scrapbooking while telling a story, right? A title like " The Exciting Adventures of Raft man and Noodle Boy" helps set this group of photos apart from other similar photos. It makes for a more specific story and highlights the relationship between my husband and my son. I did not come up with the title. My silly son and husband did while they were playing in the pool. I was more than happy to "borrow" it for these pages.

One would think with as many water themed pages as I make that I would have all of the perfect embellishments to complete a page. Sometimes though, I wish I had a little something different. When I was making the companion page for raft man and noodle boy, I wanted some waves. I don't have any wave stamps which for some reason is what I felt it needed. It's not in my budget to go buy stamps right now and quite frankly, if I did, I would have to order them on-line. I really didn't want to wait for them to be shipped to me. I will admit, that I almost caved and bought a stamp set from K and Co.
Common sense grabbed a hold of me. Because the image I wanted was fairly simple, I decided to see if I could doodle a wave similar to the stamp I had wanted to purchase. I got a piece of scrap paper, and used a pencil to doodle some waves. I was happy with the overall results and then made the brave step to doodle it on my layout. If you feel less brave than I, try doodling on a scrap piece of paper, then cut it out and use that on your page.White erasers also come in handy. They don't seem to leave marks on your paper.I am not quite sure if the doodle goes well with the page, but I did enjoy the little experiment and plan to try it again in the future.

My layout "One Sunny Day" is about having a picnic one sunny day in Tagaytay City. I simple decorated the face of the sun so it will look sexy and funny. It was a perfect day amd a lot of people are playing kites. So, I added a kite too--by putting strings and embellishments. Since it's Easter, I choose a bunny holding the kite. I prefer bright colors for my layouts.

Good morning!
I've finally finished a Scrap Our Stash challenge, and had so much fun! My card is created using products (and, come to think of it, even machines/cartridge) I've owned for at least a year or more and bits of paper from the scrap bin (except for the freshly-cut, but year old, sheet of glittery background paper).
Have a wonderful weekend, and I hope you find a golden egg!TracyAKA CuddlyBunnyBlog link: http://nosparemoments.blogspot.com/Scrap Our Stash post link: http://nosparemoments.blogspot.com/2011/04/bring-in-sun-scrap-our-stash.html

I had a different idea in
my head but this is what came out on paper. LOL Here is a layout of my grandson so content to play in the pool without any water. At his age that totally worked for us. I used Bazzil cardstock and Fancy Pants Sunkissed pattern paper along with a very old piece of Provo Craft Rob and Bob Studio. My embellishments were Kelly Panacci cardstock stickers, Pebbles Stickers and Imagination Staion Chloe's closet coasters. I also added a few orange brads. It took all these companies to make one great page. I loved using up so many items from my stash. Nothing on this layout is brand new!

Hello again,
Hello again,
I loved the idea of this challenge so much that I decided to make a 2nd project to share.
I recently got the Ultimate Crafter's Companion Tool and man am I LOVING it!! It really does help you make a ton of different things. Different types of cards, envelopes, bows, embossing, boxes...the list goes on and on.
I have been playing around with it and decided to make this fun box. My children bought boxes of candy to give their teachers and the Ultimate Tool let me make this box in the perfect size.
I went with a bright orange box...because that is the color my son wanted the box to be. And then I used some Sassafras Lass paper to make the sun and sun rays.
I just love how Sassafras Lass adds that decorative edge on their paper!! These scrap strips were absolutely perfect for edging out the box and making the sun rays.
I just typed out the sentiment and used my circle punch to punch it out. Easy peasy.

I don't know why this was so hard for me but I am very happy with the outcome. First, I was stumped for what I was going to do. I looked through my stash and didn't have "sun" anything. Then I found swim pictures and thought I would focus on the color yellow (one that doesn't make it into many of my layouts). Then, I added my own little mini challenge to not use pink. :-) In the end, I love the layout. I think because it is so different and that will make a nice addition to my books. April Bring In The Sun Challenge by Stacy H-W
Design Team Member Stacy submitted this layout for the April Bring in the The Challenge. She said: Here is my take on the April's Bring in the Sunshine Challenge.
When I first found out about this challenge I was a little disappointed because I had just made a layout with the theme "sunshine". (I was disappointed not in what the challenge was but in that I had already made and posted that other layout)
But I saw this awesome sketch at Pagemaps (March 2009) and I loved the idea of using a large photo. The sketch had this half circle which was just calling out to become a sun.
The Sassafras Lass Sweetly Smitten paper was the perfect fit with what I had in mind. It had "fake" stitching but I wanted to turn that half circle into a sun so I got out my needle and embossing thread and got busy sewing.
I'm really into stapling on ribbon so I dragged out my ginormous stapler and stapled away at that piece of green ribbon I chose from my stash. I added the title from some Cosmo Cricket Delovely paper and those sweet flowers are Puffies from KI Memories. I had to ink and stickle it too. I just love how it came out. So happy and sunshiny!!
Here is my April Challenge. Where is yours?? See all the details on the April Challenge HERE! Be sure to scroll down - there is something new at Scrap Our Stash everyday.

Thinking of bright sunny days cannot be helped with this layout which I created for a special album I am working on...an alphabetical "You Are My..." for the children. Even though I used two very similar photos I felt they worked great in this design. Each ray of sunshine is an individual strip cut from cardstock which is varied in shades of yellow and orange. Using a sewing machine I stitched different patterns in red so that everything would pop and complimented the color scheme with these awesome vinyl thicker stickers. I created the clouds from two different Sizzix dies and provided some depth with chalking inks to everything on the page. Thank goodness I have sunshine from these two to get me through dreary mid-west winters!
