BTS by Groovy Deb♥
BTS usually means Back to School, but not here at SOS this month! This month it means you are to use your stash with anything that begins with the letters in BTS!!!
B might mean buttons and brads
T might mean twine and tin
S might mean sequins and silver
Remember YOU choose what B, T, and S mean and dig into that stash of yours!
We look forward to your creations! One winner will be chosen at the end of the month to be our Guest designer based on your layout for this challenge, so come play :)
Thanks!!! Deb♥
Here is my example to start the challenge
Can you see my BTS?
I used my BRUSH MARKERS
I used my TEMPLATE
I used my STICKERS
Easy right?

For my August Time Will Tell challenge, I decided to look back at my son whose birthday happens to be in August. He just turned nine years old, but in the photo I scrapped he is only one year old. In my LO I looked back at how much he changed in just one year, and wondered how much he would change in his second year, but only "time will tell". I used the Echo Park Pride and Joy mini collection. How let's see what you can do!

Just Would Like to Share
Here is a layout of my mom, children and myself that I made back in 2008. We loved going to Powwows, enjoying our Cherokee heritage :) It won't be the same this year, but I am happy to have memories of visiting them together.
Thanks!

Time will Tell by Lela
"It seems these last few months have been nothing but a "Time Will Tell" challenge as I watch my baby graduate from high school and move to an apartment to get a job and start college. Everything is all about a "new start" for him and I'm so excited but a little part of me is sad to see him move on as I miss him. I think scrappin' the photos helps me go back and remember the fun of what these events should be. Good-bye High School."

Time will Tell by Kelly
Hello!
Here is my submission for the Time Will Tell Challenge this month.
I have the hardest time scrapping school photos for some reason. I think it is because I do better with action photos to tell a story rather than still photos. When I saw your challenge this month it was just what I needed to spark my title for my son’s 5th grade class photo. My title is “A moment in 5th Grade” giving it a concept of a fleeting moment as it usually is anymore with my boys. Life truly happens way too fast! I also used a clock I cut out from Core’dinations timeless collection paper to put in the center circle as a symbol of a moment in time.
Thanks for another fun challenge! :)

This month's challenge is Time Will Tell. This challenge is really wide open to many interpretations, but what I thought of was all the possibilities when it comes to my kids. For instance, my little 2yr old monster, what will he be like in a couple more years? My daughter that starts high school this year, where is she headed? So I just started looking through photos and these grabbed me.
I believe this was one of her very first hits in one of her very first competitive league games. It's only been 2 years but she's developed so much as a player since this day. She loves this sport and aspires to go far with it. What kid doesn't dream of going pro at some point, right?
But I did want to remind her to have fun, after all, it is just a game.
So here I used this totally fun softball line from Moxxie, punched the star border into kraft cs, cut my photo mat to resemble the stitches of the ball, made my journaling spot to resemble home plate, added some white and brown ink to where the title was going, to make it a little 'dirty' and added the cute cs stickers, a few brads and photo corners to focus the eye on the title.
Have fun creating your Time Will Tell project and let us see it!

When I cam across this photo of my sister and me reading on our couch (long ago!), I knew that it would be perfect for the SOS Time Will Tell challenge! I remember having snapped some photos of my daughters engaged in one of our favorite pastimes: reading. We all make time to read in our family. My layout uses some old and some new stash from Close To My Heart: the Key Moments stamp set (clock and keys) is retiring, the Old World alphabet set and Universal Backgrounds (text stamp) are still available, and I was able to use the NEW Approved stamp set and NEW Scholastic paper pack. I used some corrugated cardboard shapes, Dark Chocolate striped ribbon, and Durables studs to embellish my layout. (All supplies are from CTMH.) I'm so glad that I have passed my love of reading on to my girls!
Pagerize This! #22
This month we are going to scraplift one of our designers,Debbie! Of course here on SOS that is called Pagerize This! Here is her layout now it is your turn to use it and see what you can do with hers as your inspiration! Be sure to send that to groovydeb@yahoo.com when you are done. Thanks!!!
Debbie said this about her layout:
I had fun creating this layout about our two granddaughters trying to stay cool in our hot Arizona weather. They realized right away after being sprayed with the hose that they were leaving silhouettes on the block fence. So after that it was a "cool" game. To keep with the feel of the water spray, I lightly misted my background paper. I had four 4X6 photos that I cut to 4X4 to make a square of photos. Then I mat them on a bright cheery patterned paper, and chose my embellishments to match the colors from that paper. There wasn't really any more room for my journaling, so I wrote it around my mat paper. It was actually a super easy layout to put together. I can't wait to see what you ladies come up with!

I chose to describe this as "Time for Grandkids" We just had our extended family pictures taken recently and I thought this was a great way to highlight us with them together and individually. I used the DCWV Kitchen stack paper. I added a frame from my minds eye. I used Halloween alphabet stickers(can you believe it?) for the grandkids title, SEI stickers for the word "for" making memories rub on stickers for the word time and Family stickers from Melissa Frances. Banners were made from my triangle punch with miscellaneous pattern paper. Miscellaneous buttons. I love the result!! Thanks for challenging us!!

This month I decided, again, to dig into the Steampunk photos taken by the very talented Robert Allard: http://raphotography.smugmug.com last March.
Scrap Our Stash Challenges are a *perfect* reason to 'scrap out stash' of backlogged photos too!
This time a couple of pictures of my oldest son Arthur: 1/2 turned Vampire and my husband Greg: Team Leader totally armed and ready to fight evil daemons.
Started with Tim Holtz paper from the same pack I've been using for many of the pages from this shoot, roughed it up sanding the edges with an emery board. The same treatment for both photos; trimmed with my old dull cutter for a 'shaggy' look them sanded down.
Embellishments were varied:
Gear Strip is Little Yellow Bicycle Lack Cardstock. A few 'screw head' brads in the centers. Chip board elements came from BoBunny Timepiece collection, also sanded a bit. Stamped the STEAMPUNK in the middle of the blank clockface and then wrote the rest of the title in with Sharpie PEN. There are a couple of Graphics 45: Steampunk Debutante punch-out. Punched Gears were made with a Stampin' Up! Punch using a scrap of paper I had smeared leftover black, red and brown paint on from another project. Waste not, want not! The 'Badge' is an extra print-out of the ones I use to make out group badges... glued onto extra thick cereal board (Honey Nut Cheerios Family Pack... super thick!) and cut out with an Exacto blade.
Pictures were a bit hard to take since it's very 'lumpy' and shiny here and there.. so I took a few.

Time will Tell by Charlotte
Scrappers it is time to show another great project for Time will Tell, this month's challenge. Here are the details, we want to see what you have time for ;)
Today SOS Designer Charlotte has this project she has made for our August challenge and what she would like us to know :)
Time Will Tell was a great challenge and came at just the right time for me. My daughter had a very rough year in Grade Six and will be starting Juniour High in September. We are both hoping that she will have a much better year, but I guess....Time Will Tell! I used up some Fancy Pants papers from my stash and also found some really cool rulers that had been sitting there for awhile. It was great to finally use them on a layout! http://scrapsational-char.blogspot.ca/

Time will Tell by Cathy
Loyal Reader, Cathy, has submitted to our August Time will Tell Challenge. Here are the details about the challenge and here is what Cathy said about her project and a picture :)
This layout will take 12 years to complete... it records the passing of time through my son's school career. Each year I add a school photo showing how he has grown, plus note who is class teacher is. The frame project was made purely from scraps and leftovers.
More closeup details can be seen on my blog at http://whatsupwithcathy.blogspot.com/2012/07/using-up-some-of-my-scraps.html

Pagerizing Christy by Debbie
Now let's take a look at how Debbie Pagerized Christy!!!
Here is my layout for the Pagerize Christy challenge. I really loved her little banner and the misted circle on her layout. I decided to use those two elements for the foundation of my page. I took an older book of Studio K patterned paper that I've been holding onto, and cut up some strips of paper for the banner. Instead of misting, I cut a circle out to place behind my photo. This is one of my favorite photos, and I couldn't have been happier to gain inspiration from Christy's layout so I could get it scrapped! Thanks Christy!
OK, NOW it is YOUR turn!!! We would like to see how it is that this same layout inspires you!!! Email groovydeb@yahoo.com with Pagerize This in the subject line and then we will show your project right here. At the end of the month we will choose one of the layouts and ask that person who has entered to be our guest and share a new layout we can then Pagerize too! Sound fun? Get started!!! You have until August 12th to get that sent to me!

Time will Tell by Debbie
Our SOS designer Debbie has a project for us based on the challenge of the month. Ready to see?
When I first heard that the August challenge had to do with time, my head was filled with song lyrics and quotes from movies. But it was a quote by Herculitus that set the inspiration for my layout. I have a file that I keep a mixture of photos from different time periods in. I found a good mix of photos of my grandchildren at play that would work with a sketch I used from Sketch Support. I used pretty patterned paper from Graphic 45 and some older chipboard clocks from Heidi Swapp that I have been hoarding. You may not be able to see it, but I used machine stitching for the stems of the clock flowers. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with.

Time will Tell by Elizabeth
Now on to our designer Elizabeth and what she wants us to know about her layout:
Hello Everyone,
When I was considering what to do for the August Challenge, Time Will Tell, I kept coming back to this lovely photo taken of my granddaughter, Shari-Ann, sitting on her granddad's knee, listening intently as he was telling her a story - she absolutely loved story time with granddad and adored hearing his rather tall tales :)
I chose a Daisy Bucket Designs background paper, Under the Boardwalk, because it is fairly neutral, and the other elements feature colours from the bird border - from Cosmo Cricket's Nutmeg Elements. Most of the papers used are from the snippet pile and unfortunately I no longer remember all the makers or even the what they were called. However, I do know that the borders along with the bird border, the Simple Pleasures sentiment and the Remember When journaling spot are from Cosmo Cricket's Nutmeg Elements. I fussy cut the clocks from the fabulous World Map sheet(Clocks are on reverse)from Kaisercraft Timeless Collection.
I've used Kiwi Lane Designs templates a lot on this layout - the curvy borders are from the Abbie Road set, the bracket shape on the left of the photo is Bracket 1 and the arrow head is from the Tiny Nature set.
The dotty photo matting was trimmed with a pair of scalloped edge scissors - these came free with a craft magazine some time ago. At the time I put them away thinking I'd never use them, and might even pass them on to Shari-Ann for her to play with, but I've now used them twice in as many days so I'll be keeping them after all :)
The embellishments - the die-cut butterflies, a gift from a friend, Tim Holtz Adage Tickets, and adhesive-backed gems were all from my hoard of stash.
I have still to add the journaling, will do that later when I've thought out what to write.
Elizabeth

Time will Tell by Wendy K
As soon as I heard the topic of this month's challenge I knew exactly what my project would be! I can't tell you how long I have had this clock. It's just one of those projects that has remained in the box. I struggled with how to embellish it because it was so pretty after I added the patterned paper but I finally decided on some 3D flowers and sparkles (of course!). Now I just have to get it up on the wall! Complete details are on my blog at www.MyScrapbookingBlog.com

August is here! Time for a New Challenge!
This month our challenge is called Time will Tell. We would like to show you what we have come up with and ask you to play along with us too. At the end of the month we will ask one of our readers to become a guest designer of the next month.
