"Make A Wish" Layout by Rochelle

Happy Tuesday everyone!
Today's adorable inspiration is the creative work of Rochelle inspired by our October
I really like how she replaced the stitching with twine and used with her "misted" stars!
Here is what Rochelle shared about her layout:
"This was a great sketch to work with! I actually mixed manufacturers this time which is really hard for me. I used Bo Bunny, Ruby Rock-it and Pebbles Papers. I also used Linnie Blooms canvas star shapes and canvas tags. For the mists, I was able to use a few of my bottles that I haven't used for a while or at all so yippie for that!!!"

This is the last of our October design team inspiration.

"Furry Friend" Layout by DT Lee-Anne

Hello and Welcome!
Today's lovely inspiration was created by DT Lee-Anne!
I love all of the textures, fall palette and how she used this challenge to create such and awesome background:
Here is what Lee-Anne shared about her page:
"I captured these photos of this little furry friend that has grown from a fawn into a teenager. It was looking into the window at me and it couldn't see me because the window was tinted but it heard me talk to it softly. It comes for daily visits. I loved the sketch and used mists to create the background of this layout and then added drywall tape and texture paste and more mists and layered several embellishments and photos."

There are tow more days to left to complete one or both of our October challenges for a chance to win our monthly prize and/or your layout could even be selected by our Design Team to be featured as one of our Top 3 Picks for October.   Did you know we also ask one of our Top 3 picks to Guest Design?

"Single Moments Make Great Memories" Layout by Brenda

Happy Saturday everyone!!!
Today I am sharing a layout I created inspired by this month's
I love seeing used paints, mists, etc on scrapbook pages of others, but struggle adding it to my pages.   I am always afraid I will "mess up" the layout and have to start all over again and i am a slow scrapper, so I really do not like the idea of having to start a layout over!  Anyway, I did not do too bad with the paint on this layout and somewhat pleased with the way it turned out.

I stayed pretty true to the sketch, adding a few minor adjustments.  For the stash part of the challenge, first I added a little water to some black acrylic paint and applied a few drops to my background and patterned papers.   I then decided to add some orange, and used some watercolor paints and thought I had made the orange a little darker, and discovered after splattering it on the page, that it was not as dark as I hoped it would be, but it works!

Here is another peak at this month's sketch:
Whether you like working with paints and mists or not too comfortable with them, Scrap Our Stash would love to see your take on our October sketch and how you use your stash of paints, mists, etc.
Click HERE for details on the challenge!
You have until October 29th to link up your layout for a chance to enter into our monthly prize drawing or better yet, your layout could possibly selected by our design team as one of our
October Top 3 Picks!!!

Remember, we will be sharing more design team inspiration tomorrow!!!

"Sun, Sand, and Smiles" Layout by DT Kerry

TGIF!!!!
Today's inspiration is a wonderful creation of DT Kerry, inspired by the
The blue splashes of watercolor paints are perfect with the ocean in the background of the photos and the splatters of yellow reminds you of the sun and fun!
Not only did Kerry do well with the stash part of this challenge, check out her awesome stitch work:
Kerry shared this about her take on this month's Sketch with Stash Challenge:
"I loved this sketch from the go as it looked like I could have so much fun!
As I have limited colours in my mist stash I decided to get out my trusty watercolour paints and splat the background with several colours to match the papers.
I was pleased to see stitching on the sketch as this is my favourite technique at the moment and I came up with the idea to stitch some sequins in to the waves.
The pre-made sequin starfish was one of only two I had left and luckily this one matched the colours of my layout!
I have used some American Crafts Thickers for the word 'Smiles' but I wanted smaller letters for the other words in my title so I reproduced the style onto some die-cut white letters and coloured them pink with Promarkers.
I will stop chatting now as I know you want to get started on this sketch challenge and I can't wait to see your interpretation.
Happy Scrapping." xx

Okay by now, with all of the fantastic design team inspiration we have shared, if you haven't already completed and linked up your entry, you should be pumped to pull out your stash of paints, mists, etc and create a layout inspired by our October sketch!

"Where Is He?" Layout by DT Kelly

Today on our blog we have some really "playful" inspiration for you!
Kelly did a awesome job playing with her paints and mists and the October Sketch
to create this super fun layout!
I love her sun and clouds!
Read what Kelly shared about her take on this challenge:
"This sketch was perfect for my son's sneaky water balloon photos! I am such a fan of water colors and rarely ever use them. I chose to take some of my mists and some acrylic paints that I watered down to paint the sun, clouds and grass. I love the soft effect water colors have and then used the paints to drop in the corners for some added color and splash effect. I then decided to grab my black Sharpie marker and give a little more definition. I can't wait to see all the layouts this month using a variety of paints!"

Thank you for stopping by and look forward to more awesome design team inspiration tomorrow!

"Boy/Girl" Layout by DT Robin

Today's inspiration is being shared by DT Robin!
Robin used the October
to create her layout about her two favorite subjects, "her boy and her girl!"
Here is what Robin shared about her layout:
"When my kids were younger, in school, I would make their lunch and put it in a brown paper bag. I would label their lunches, not with their name, but one with ‘boy’ and the other with ‘girl’. Their teacher’s got a kick out of it. Good thing I only had one boy and one girl!
Our challenge this time was to follow the sketch and use mist and/or paints. In the upper left corner I drew the corner arrows with the tube portion of the mister. I topped it with puffy paint.
Down the center of the page, I painted tiny hearts the way I learned many years ago when I use to Tole Paint. Then, I splattered some of Heidi Swapp’s Gold Color Shine in the upper right and lower left corners.
I always enjoy scrapbooking my favorite subjects, my boy and my girl."

Remember, you still have time to complete both of our
October Challenges
Each challenge completed, earns you an entry into our monthly prize drawing.
Your entries could also be selected by our Design Team as one of our October Top 3!

Enjoy the rest of your day!!!

"True Happiness" Layout by DT Jenni

Ready to be inspired?
Today, DT Jenni shares with us this awesome layout she created inspired by our
Check out how she uses the stash part of our challenge to create the vertical elements from the design of the sketch:
Jenni shared this about her layout:
"I don't do many layouts these days without some sort of painting , so this was an easy challenge for me! I used a combination of Distress Stain & modeling paste with a stencil for the vertical background of the sketch. I also used gelatos in several shades of blue, green and white on this heart stamp from Dear Lizzy. I colored right on the stamp with the gelatos, layering the colors to get a variety of shades and then misted the stamp lightly before using it. Paints and mists are such a great tool to customize your supplies to match anything!"

Got paint, mists, gelatos????  Pair it with this month's sketch and share you layout with us!
You still have plenty of time to link up your entry, the challenge does not end until October 29th!

Thank you for stopping by!

"Delightful Day" Layout by DT Manda

Happy Monday, it's time for our daily inspiration!
Today DT Manda is sharing this amazing page she created inspired by our
I love everything about this layout from the color combo, the use of her stash of mists, to that beautiful photo!
Here is what Manda shared about her layout:
"I often use mists on layouts to do splatters but other than that they tend to just sit on the shelf gathering dust, so this challenge was a chance to use them and also to step out of my comfort zone a bit. For the base of my layout I gave the cardstock a good misting of yellow then at the top of the page I sprayed a lot of pink and then held the page up so it would run down, I really liked that it came out very similar to the tulips in the picture."

Please join us in our Sketch with Stash Challenge this month!   We would love for you to get out your stash of mists, paints, etc, create a layout inspired by our sketch and show us how you use your paints, mists, etc!
You have until October 29th to link up you take on both of our October Challenges for a chance to win our monthly prize and/or possibly being selected as one of our Design team Top 3 Picks!

Stop by tomorrow for more amazing design team inspiration!
Have a SCRAPTABULOUS wee!

Hi everyone!
Welcome to another day of design team inspiration inspired by our October
Sketch with Stash Challenge!
How cute is this layout being shared by DT Joefil?  Read below how she used the stash part of our challenge to create this wonderful layout:
Joefil:  "I'ts another fun sketch and stash challenge here.  For this challenge I used Heidi Swapp paper for the background with the watercolor prints on it, and the three patterned papers behind the photos are from K&Company.  I distressed the edges and outlined.  I used my circle stencil and acrylic paint to create some texture behind the photos.  The butterflies are chipboard from my stash that I colored with watercolor paints.   I then added some splatters of Primrose color shine.

Looking at this layout, I immediately think "HAPPINESS!!!"
Here is what Elizabeth shared about her layout:
"Working with mists is an easy challenge for me as I love misting!!! I use it on almost all of my layouts, I like it that much! I really wanted to do a layout using fun colors for Alyssa and I so I chose to use reds, pinks, and greens and the hearts as a bases to convey just how much we love being together!!"

"Enjoy The Ride" Layout by DT Dulcinea

We are so glad you stopped by today!
Our design team is playing with paints, mists, watercolors, and gelatos, as well as a sketch for the next couple of weeks and creating some wonderful inspiration to share with you!

Today DT Dulcinea has provided this awesome layout inspired by our
to share with you:
Here is what Dulcinea shared about her layout:
"Working with a sketch can be hard when it is so different from your style. However,  you can  add to, subtract from or otherwise edit the sketch from it's original form to suit your style and at the same time create something beautiful.  This is what I thought about my layout for this challenge. Once I decided I wanted to use the stars on my background as my starting point, I had to figure out how I wanted to add them to my page.  For my background I used a star stencil and gesso as a resist. After that, I added a bit of mist and paint with the same color of pink, a horizontal area around the gesso. After that, everything came together fairly easy.  I painted the butterfly with mint watercolor and added some splatters around the photo area.   I made a few minor changes to the sketch, like the vertical area behind the photo, but I think I interpreted the sketch pretty well, and better yet, I created one of my favorite layouts!
Thank you for this sketch."

So are you inspired to get your sketch on and get a little messy?

Our October Guest Designer
Steffanie Seiler
has created this adorable layout inspired by our
October Sketch with Stash Challenge
"Latest Addition"
And this is what Steffani shared about her layout:
I am a big fan of sketches and start most of my layouts using one as a guide. This particular sketch suited by photos so well that I really didn't change much of anything. I began with some subtle misting in the background using a numbers stencil which I thought tied in nicely with the word "addition" in my title. I machine stitched just as in the sketch indicated---one of my favorite go-to techniques! I thought about stitching in the lower corner as well, but in the end decided it wasn't necessary, especially with the journaling there. One obvious change I made was to use bones instead of stars which better supported my subject. Thank you, Brenda, for a great sketch to work with!
Click HERE to visit Steffani's Blog and check out her beautiful work!!!

We have truly enjoyed the inspiration that Steffani has shared with us this month and hope that you will leave here a comment below and/or visit her blog and leave her a comment and let her know that you have also enjoyed the inspiration she has graced SOS with this month!

And now...it is your turn to create a layout using this sketch along with your mists, watercolors. gelatos and/or paint!

"Here Comes the Sun" LO by DT Manda M.

Beautiful inspiration today by DT Manda! Love all the layering she did on this layout.  Take a look:
Manda said, "This should have been a super easy and fun challenge right? Well silly me didn't know that Tic Tac Toe was what I grew up calling Naughts and Crosses. So I thought that is was like some kind of Sudoku puzzle where you can only have one item in any one line - if that makes sense. Well it probably doesn't but it did to me at the time. So that is why I have 5 of the elements instead of just 3 because once I worked it out I had to add some additional items LOL. (Washi, arrows, wood veneer, journal cards, and decorative pins). All that said I actually love how it came out. The 3 tic tac toe items are the Journal cards which I used for layering under the picture, decorative pins and arrows."

Make sure you come back tomorrow for the reveal of the Oct Sketch challenge!!!

"Me" LO by DT Lee Anne T.

Today's inspiration is from DT Lee-Anne.  She shares with us this gorgeous shabby chic layout about herself. Check out how she used her stash for the Tic Tac Toe Stash Challenge:

Lee-Anne says this about her layout, "Sharing my layout for Stash Challenge #8 - October 1, 2013. For the Tic Tac Toe Challenge, I used 5 Brads, Wood Veneers, and Twine. For my layout I wanted to
create a shabby chic feel to my page. I used 5 pearl brads for the center of my flowers, a variety of wood

veneers from Crate Paper that I altered with some gesso, distress stain and mists and some twine to give some texture so I used the twine to wrap around the wood veneer flower. This layout was great messy, playful fun!"

See ya back here tomorrow for more inspiration!!

"5th Grade" by DT Lindsey K.

Fabulous layout today by DT Lindsey!  What a great school photo and I love all the washi tape on the layout! Great job using your stash Lindsey!
This is what Lindsey said about her layout, "So this is a page that would take the normal scrapper about ten minutes. For some reason, it took me 5 days! I just kept adding smaller details, some you can't even see.  But I chose some basics from the tic tac toe grid: washi > 3+ buttons > chipboard. Washi is pretty much on all of my pages lately. I don't normally reach for buttons, and I didn't think they really belonged on this page; so I stacked them big time so they became their own embellishment. The arrows up top are chipboard wrapped in washi - those pieces had been sitting under my computer for months!
For more information on this layout, please visit my blog!

Come back tomorrow for more daily inspiration!

"It's all in the Smile" LO by DT Kerry

Look at this gorgeous layout from DT Kerry! Fantastic job on the Tic Tac Toe challenge!
Kerry said, "I do so love Tic Tac Toe challenges and it was so easy to choose from all the great options, I went for Washi tape, decorative pins and twine.
I have used all MME papers and the title is a MME die-cut too. The flowers were all fussy cut from the pattern paper and I jazzed up the plain tag with some twine.
The decorative pins have been wrapped in twine and placed near some banner strips that I made by sticking washi tape on some cardstock that I cut slightly wider than the tape, I wanted the banners to stick up a bit that's why I didn't just stick the tape straight onto the background cardstock.
I'm sure there is a combination of three to suit your taste and stash so why not join us in this fun challenge. Looking forward to seeing your choice. xx"

here's the Tic Tac Toe chart:

"Love This" LO by DT Kelly H.

Today's inspiration comes from DT Kelly.  Kelly did a wonderful job digging into her stash and creating this wonderful page for the Tic Tac Toe challenge.
Kelly said, " just LOVE this type of challenge that forces you to dig into your stash and pull out at least 3 types of items to use! I chose the row of Washi Tape, Journal Card and 5+ Brads. I even went a tad further and grabbed some twine to use as well. And speaking of love, this is one of my favorite brotherly photos!  Papers, journal block and title are from the Echo Park A Boy's Life collection."

Check out the Tic Tac Toe challenge HERE. :)

"Scrappin Escapes" LO by DT Robin R.

Check out this awesome layout by Robin! She did a great job with the challenge. I love how she worked that twine around the branches!

Robin said, "Another great challenge! And, so many options! I chose Washi tape, journal card and five brads. Again, I used touches of gold. The little, square brads that I’ve had for a million years are gold. The Washi tape I’ve had for a while but I hadn’t used it before, is gold polka dots. The twine has tiny gold sequins sewn into it and I stamped the title with gold Archival Brilliance ink pad.
This page tells of the first scrapbook retreat my boyfriend, Manuel, went on with me. He didn’t come to scrap but to hang out with me and fish while I scrapped. The event was in San Diego, right on the water. He got on the good side of my girlfriends quickly when he made us the most delicious shrimp cocktail for lunch."

You're next! :)

"Letters for Later" LO by DT Jenni C.

Wow... Jenni shares with us a beautiful layout with lots of colors and techniques.  Also, make sure you check out her video (see below) for a tutorial on how she made this wonderful layout!!!
This is what Jenni said about her layout, "This may be my favorite Challenge to date...ever! I think this challenge is a great way to jump start your creativity. I chose the combination of chipboard, decorative stick pins & 5+ brads. This new paper from Glitz was my color inspiration and I matched some chipboard and stick pins as accents.  I have been planning to make an album for both my children that include a series of letters, prayers and hopes for them to have later. This is the first of those pages. I can't wait to see what everyone does with this awesome challenge!"

Today's inspiration is a beautiful layout by DT Joefil.  She did a wonderful job using up her wash tape!

Here's what Joefil said, "A lovely day at the park with my daughter and my bestfriend kids and I in this picture. I used american crafts papers, and used some stamps that i never used. And for this challenge, i used washi tape grey chevron, green stripes and the red polka dots by recollections, 4 buttons from my stash and chipboard flowers and leaves from sassafras. "Shopping" by DT Elizabeth H.

Another great layout by DT Elizabeth! Love how she layered the polariod frames.  Take a look:

Elizabeth said this about her layout, "I wanted to document a day out shopping with Alyssa, she and I have so much fun being together! This was a fun challenge because you could really use your creativity! I decided to do a straight line on the left column and created this layout using washi tape, a journaling card (which I just flipped over and used as part of my title work) and 6 brads. Totally fun!"
