"Birthday dinner for my super sweet 16 gal-her choice was to go to On The Border! 

My Tic Tac Toe items came from my own kit that I put together and went straight down the B aisle: Tags, polka dots and yellow (on my striped arrow)

For this sketch challenge, I chose to flip the sketch so that my layered tags were at the bottom!"

"I love a sketch challenge! I'm usually a slow scrapper, but I've been challenging myself to scrap quickly, get messy, and embrace imperfections. And guess what? 

I'm enjoying the process and the layouts more. 

For this one, I added modeling paste and mist to the background and lots of scribbly lines. 

For the tic tac toe part of the challenge, I incorporated:

 Tags, Summer Theme, and Paint/Mist."

"I loved this challenge! I stuck pretty close to the sketch and just altered the direction of the photo to work with this adorable photo of my husband and daughter. The bingo part of this challenge was so much fun for me! I ended up using all of the outside bingo options.

"This photo was taken at the Ontario, Ca Scrapbook Expo 2014. We had a nice size group that went with us and of course when there are friends, that equates to major distraction, which means nothing gets done!

"Happy Memories" Layout by DT Sherri

Today's bright and cheerful featured layout is the wonderful creation of

August Sketch Challenge:

Sherri:

"After selecting my photo ( one of my Mom and I at a play ) and searching through my "stash" - I decided to go with the 3 squares on the left of the board - TAG(s) | Polka Dots | Yellow - as the paper pack I wanted to use really fit in with the colors of the photo, and 2 of the items on the board ( Polka Dots and Yellow.) I just LOVED Simple Stories "DIY Boutique" when I first saw. I've had this pack for a while and have been dying to use it. I think it worked out perfectly!

I decided to make my circle out of various brads, and different bling - I am really happy with how it came out - I love the mix of different size, heights and finishes.

The photo is a "SELFIE" that we took while waiting for the play to begin - It was at an odd angle, so I tilted it when I added it to the layout and I "popped" it with foam tape, on 3 sides, and made a pocket to add my tag for journaling - and also to satisfy the 3rd item on the bingo board too!

This was a really FUN Challenge - I hope you will play along!!"

"When I saw the wonderful sketch by Audrey Yeager, I was inspired to scrap this photo of my son at the museum. The design fits perfectly to the picture. So, I just followed it. I'm a very slow scrapper. Working with sketches is such a great fun. It makes my scrapping proccess faster.

A photo taken when we were climbing with a rubber ring up to the beginning of a slide at the  "Aaquafan" water park.  That day we did the climb with the rings a thousand times  but what fun to slide after that!!

"Ice Cream Perfection" Layout by DT Steffanie

Hello everyone!

Today's inspiration is this awesome layout created by SOS designer, Steffanie

inspired by our 

August Sketch Challenge:

Steffanie:

"You may be looking at my layout and the sketch going, WHAT??? At first glance, it may not look much like the sketch...but if you rotate the sketch clockwise...now do you see it? Besides the rotation, I also eliminated the larger circular element in the central background. I grouped two photos onto a single mat for the focal point. And instead of a smaller circle embellishment, I chose to use an additional small photo. To help ground and unify my title and the smaller photo, I added the horizontal strip of diagonal striped paper. 

For my Tic Tac Toe items, I chose the top row. I created a tag for my journaling which I tucked behind one of the patterned paper squares. Speaking of patterned paper, I used FIVE...which qualifies for the 4+ patterned papers. Finally, to complete the row, I used stripes. They are diagonal, but nonetheless, stripes. Polka dots and wood veneer and, one could even say, summer theme made it to my page...but none made an additional tic tac toe. 

That's ok though...regardless, I still used more of my stash!"

Sketch Challenge #29 ~ Guest Sketch Artist Audrey Yeager

Happy Saturday everyone!

Today we are revealing our August Sketch Challenge!

Bur first, we would like to introduce our 

August Sketch Artist

Audrey Yeager

"I am a thirty something stay-at-home mom to my kindergartener and pre-schooler. I started scrapbooking around 2005, although I have been "crafty" my entire life, dabbling in different crafts here and there. In 2007 I discovered the online world of scrapbooking, which totally changed the way I scrapbook. Since then, I've been on several teams for kit clubs, manufacturers, and challenge blogs. In January of 2014, I took over ownership of an online retail scrapbook store called 

My Scraps & More.

 I have an entire store in my basement, and it allows me the best of both worlds to work part time from home in the store and spend time with my kids, too! 

(Not to mention I get to scrap with ALL THE THINGS!)

I love to scrap about our everyday moments and try to record all those little things that are said and done. I'm also so glad that we live in a place like upstate NY where we experience every season because I love being able to change up my products and inspiration from one season to the next!

I love how scrapbooking can remove me from anything else I may have on my mind, and just take me to a place where all I think about are colors, patterns, and the memories behind this photo. I also love the social part of it, too, in going to crops and retreats, and the online support and camaraderie!

In addition to scrapbooking, I love to quilt and sew, garden, play volleyball, and watch movies and sci-fi TV series!
