"Fun Winter" LO by DT Aurelie

Hello Friends!

Todays inspiration is this lovely layout by Designer Aurelie:
Aurelie said this about her layout:
"I know I've said it before, but I really do love how SOS is making me use some of the scrappy stash I've been holding onto for years. Recognize these patterned papers? Most of them are from one of Heidi Swapp's very first collections - No Limits, c. 2012. There are also pieces from BoBunny's more recent Pop Quiz collection as well as one of We R Memory Keepers's Shine collection. I also added a few extra pieces from Heidi Swapp's No Limit collection (the banner pieces and a journalling card), some Stampin' Up cardstock and transparency pieces, a Pink Paislee tab, some Magic Mesh, Basic Grey and October Afternoon alphas, a few splats of Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze, hand-stitching using two snowflake stitching templates - one from Bazzill Basics and the other, from American Crafts - along with some DMC floss, buttons I've had on hand since forever, and Fancy Pants chipboard alphas I covered with BoBunny patterned paper. Those chipboard alphas, my goodness, I've had for almost ten years, now. I used to use them as stencils - tracing letters onto the back of patterned papers and fussy-cutting them out so that I could keep the chipboard for other projects. Well. My alpha collection has grown exponentially since then. I still traced the letters onto the back of patterned papers, but I glued the papers onto the chipboard pieces and off they went onto my layout.
As for my items on the three lists? Yes, that's right! I was inspired by the three showcased colors and used them as accents on my layout. Love how this one turned out! Photos taken in 2004 by my sister, Ginette."

You only have a couple of days left to upload your layout!

"Hello Life" LO by DT Marie

Hello and Happy Tuesday!

Today's inspiration is from our Designer Marie.
Take a look at her wonderful layout:
Here's what Marie said about her layout,
"Usually I tend to freely interprets sketches. But for once, I tried to stay close to this one, and I didn't use any medium on my layout! I like to do it once in a while as I'm still a big fan of traditional scrapbooking. I love using patterned papers to create an harmonious layout.
From the Pick Lists, I chose Desert (Kraft and desert are pretty similar, right?)
I also picked the envelop, one as a badge (this one was too easy!), but I also created one that is tucked behind my pictures.

Finally, I went with flowers, since they are my favorite embellishments."

"Explore Life" LO by DT Zsoka

Happy Friday!
Let's get this weekend started with this fabulous layout by Designer Zsoka:
"Hello there scrappy friends, Zsoka here with you today with a new layout for the sketch and stash challenge!

Sometimes when I have a sketch, I choose a collection to work with that I haven't yet used or haven't used in ages. This time I was determined to use some of the remainders of my Hip Kits from July (at least I think it was July). Honestly, this is why I love my monthly SOS assignments because I can use my stash and often I really have to go through it to find something from the lists above!

Originally I was going to follow the sketch quite closely, but then I realized my papers are just waaaay too busy to add so many layers. So I skipped the top layers. Also, I noticed that my child is looking in the wrong direction in the photo haha! When I had the photo on the right like in the sketch, he was looking off the page and it just looked weird. However I really wanted to use this photo...so I flipped over the sketch and what should be on the right is now on the left side.
As my papers were pretty colourful, I added a black mat under one of them, black stitching to another and a black outline to the third to break up all the patterns. My chipboard title didn't stand out so I painted the bottom part with water colors and outlined it with a black pen.
From the lists I chose: a Doodlebug clip, Elle's Studio wood veneer and flowers (floral paper).
I hope you'll play along with us this month too! Happy creating and thanks for stopping by X"

"Things" LO by DT Sherri

Hello Everyone!

Check out this awesome layout from Designer Sherri:
Sherri shared this about her layout:
"I've had theses papers in my stash for some time....waiting for just the right photo(s) and layout. I love the tag in this sketch - as tags are my favorite way to include a little bit of journaling in my layouts. For the +3 part of the challenge, I used:
1. Desert - base page
2. Envelop - that I actually made out of one of the papers
3. French Wine - in the pattern paper and embellies

We had a spur of the moment "Family Game Night" with my brothers-in-laws and sister-in-laws. We played one of our favorite games "Things!" We had lots of fun laughing together!

I Love this photo of us!! Yes, it is a selfie - and I had to angle it like that to fit us all in! Don't wait for a special occasion to spend time with those you love - get together and laugh and have fun whenever you can. Life is too short and you never know what tomorrow might bring!

Hoping you will play along with us this month - I can’t wait to see what you come up with!!"

"Happy" LO by Designer Natsuko

Hello and Happy Monday!

Let's start the week off with this fabulous layout from Designer Natsuko!
Here's what Natsuko said about her layout:
"LIST1 - Diecut, LIST2 - Envelope, LIST3 - Flowers
Since 'flowers' is one of the choices I made, I decided to use pictures of my daughter in a cosmos field. I wanted to make this layout elegant and dreamy, so I cut out flowers, butterflies and other sweet parts from the paper and popped some up. I also wrote a journal on a tag and put it inside the envelope. You can see more details here;
I can't wait to see everyone else's layouts!! xxx"

"A Strong Defense" LO by DT Steffanie Seiler

Hello and Good Morning!

Today we are sharing this awesome layout from our Designer Steffanie:
Stephanie said this about her layout:
"I'll admit, I rarely ever think about angling papers on a layout while I'm creating. This sketch has a large angled strip in the background and I considered not including it, but I'm so glad I did. I'm finding myself saying...wow. What an impact that makes. This layout would definitely not have the same feel without it. I loved this sketch and actually used a 6x6 pad for the whole thing, piecing them together to appear like longer strips. Since the patterns were pretty small and busy, it worked. Now I want to try it again with regular sized paper!

My stash items are as follows:
List 1 - Doodlebug Designs
List 2 - Elle's Studio (journal tabs)
List 3 - Fiskars (border punch"

Here's the sketch challenge that inspired Steffanie:

"So Dapper" Layout by DT Zsoka Marko

Happy Friday!!!!
Today's fabulous feature is the creative work of talented SOS Designer Zsoka
inspired by the

Zsoka:
"Hey there scrappy friends,
Zsoka here with you today with a layout I created for the book inspired stash challenge! When I saw this book I knew right away what collection I would use. I mean, this screams Fancy Pants Good Fellows right?! I love love love this line! I know, I say this about each Fancy Pants line, but well, it's what it is, I'm just a big fan!
Since I already did quite a few layouts with Good Fellows, I didn't have an awful lot of 12x12 papers left but luckily I still found some that made a good background.
I wanted to recreate the gentleman as my main design element and I remembered I had some cut file that was perfect for this. I cut each piece from different patterned paper, and I finally found a good use for the silver foil paper in this collection! Perfect for the glasses! I outlined each shape with a black marker so they stand out more.
This collection is full of ties and I haven't used them so far. I found the perfect picture of my son that I took many years ago at Christmas and he was wearing a tie. Just for fun I tried if I can hide his tie behind the puffy sticker tie and it was the perfect size for my photo, I loved it! So I left it on the photo :).
I added some layers of patterned papers behind my photo as well as some tags (this is where I used the twine as per challenge rules) and ephemera pieces. Some wood veneer is always good...The Right Now piece is also from Fancy Pants, the camera clip I am not sure, the Cutie piece is from Elle's Studio.
For my title I used the Good Fellows alphas. Unfortunately I don't have a lot left so I had to get creative with my E there! I think it was an ampersand that I then cut up for this!
I hope you like what you see and join us in this challenge! You have till end of the month to link up your projects! Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Thanks for stopping by"

And the challenge that inspired this awesome page:
You have until October 29th, 11:59 PM (PST) to link up your entries for a chance
to win this month's prize:

The team is looking forward to seeing how each of our challenge participants
are inspired by this month's book cover.
