DT of the Month, Ange Again :)

I have another project to show you today that is brought to us from our DT  member of the month, Ange. Here it is!
Deb♥

This is my youngest getting into trouble, he's a professional at only 3! Proud mama here. lol The title die-cut was the inspiration for this whole page. I knew I had these photos of my son breaking into the presents early and pulled them out to make this adorable layout.

I did a lot of layering, doubled up on some of the elements by fussy cutting the exact same ones from another paper and then adding them to this with foam adhesive. I also had fun doodling, distressing, inking and using a little glossy accents and Stickles to glitter things up. More details and photos on my blog. http://scrappingcompulsion.blogspot.com/

Circle Around by Ange

Traditions make the holidays so warm and inviting! Check out what Ange has for us!
Deb♥

I found a really fun sketch to help me with this month's circle challenge from Nuts About Sketches blog. Then I grabbed this photo of my older three posing with the tree their dad always makes sure they have in their room. It's one of the things he loved about his childhood, so he gets one for them to decorate. :)

Circle Around by Tamara

We have another Circle around layout toinspire you this month. This time by DT member Tamara :)
Deb♥

I started this layout on shamrock pattern paper to give the Irish feel of visiting the Causeway.  I used circles as an embellishment across the top of the page as well as to name the people in my photos.  I also used tiny brads (more circles) down the side of the Causeway information sheet.  I love how the circles give such a finished look to my page.  Thanks for looking!

Circle Around by Wendy C

Wendy C REALLY knows how to take on a circle challenge! See? Deb♥

From Wendy C: Well, Deb asked for circles and that's what I did! I had these really cool circles stickers and buttons stickers from Reminisce sitting in my stash. So I added a gazillion of them and them used my circle cutter on a bunch of miscellaneous Christmas pictures. Is that enough circles for ya? Have a great day!!

Circle Around by Elizabeth

Way to dig into your stash Elizabeth and find something beautiful crying out to be used!
Deb♥

Hi Everyone, I was sorting through and reorganizing my paper stash recently, and all the while thinking about this month's challenge to use circles in a layout, when I rediscovered this sheet of beautiful patterned paper from The ScrapCake, My Private Happiness - Happiness In The Air. The floral circles in the design were perfect and this photo, of a much younger me taken some twenty-two years ago, was just right too. I used a saucer, it was just the right size, as a template to cut round the photograph. All the materials for the clusters came from my stash, only the title letters are new - I never seem to have suitable letters when I want them. This page will probably end up in the Family History album to be seen by my great-grandchildren one day ... wonder what they will think of those padded shoulders! Circle Around by Karen

I am loving how Karen has put her spin on this challenge! It reminds me of a color wheel!!!
Deb♥

My LO is called "so very lovely Thumbelina" when we were away in France in June Nancy found a tiny doll's dress at the house we were staying. She put it on her thumb and drew a little face on to make her own Thumbelina. I thought it was so cute I had to take a photo. I thought the papers on my LO went nicely with the colours in the photo.

DT of the Month, Ange

This month Ange is our DT member of the month! I look forward to showing off more of  her work that I know you will love as much as I do :)
Deb♥

It's getting to be that time of year and if you haven't already gotten your family photos done, you're probably looking into scheduling one. Every time we do a family shoot we end up with many "out-takes" before we get the "good" photo. But often I love the out-takes almost as much as the photo I'm after. It's all about the little moments, isn't it? So this layout has the "good" family photo that I used for Christmas cards last year, along with some of the funny photos that preceded it.
This time of year can be fairly hectic and busy. I used a sketch for this layout from http://www.nutsaboutsketches.blogspot.com/ it really helps the process along. If you've never tried a sketch, you should and if you have, now you have another fun site to get free sketches from. More details and pictures on my blog: http://scrappingcompulsion.blogspot.com/

Circle Around by Debbie

Sweetness by Debbie!
Deb♥

When I found out this month's challenge was to use circular elements, my mind started racing. I love working with circles, and the possibilities are endless. I decided to get out my trusty circle punch and started punching away at some My Mind's Eye scraps I had in my scrap box. I pulled out my last bits of the Follow Your Heart collection and went to town. I can't wait to see what you come up with. Big circles, little circles, you name it! It's all a ton of fun!

Reintroducing Charlotta!

Some of you may remember Charlotta from Sweden, aka LaVikinga. She's back on the scene and making beautiful art!

Here is her Circle Around Layout that is so full  of color andwhat she has written about it!
Deb♥

Hi all Scrap Our Stash readers;

I might be new to some of you but I have been busy with family
matters and have had a break for a while! Now I'm back for this
month's challenge with round elements.

In this case I have cut pictures with Spellbinders dies and placed
them in the empty spaces after having sprayed a cardstock with
doilies in different colours. That was an experiment to see how it
would look like; what do you think?

Other elements are scalloped journaling spots from Jillibean Soup,
buttons and some brads, too. The pictures were taken in the gardens
of the Chinese Pavilion this summer when the gardeners organized
a special exhibition with a lot of beautiful flowers and dancers.

Circle Around by Sarah

Hi Everyone! Sarah has a challenge layout for us today for Circle Around. Ready to see? Here she is!
Deb♥

I was late getting my page in *hanging head in shame*... The moving gremlins have been playing many tricks. My circle cutters got packed, even though I <swear> I didn't pack them. Opened 1/2 my packed Studio moving boxes and they were nowhere to be found.

Then my printed pictures vanished and magically reappeared 2 weeks later.

~curious~

My (late) page is about the wonderful opportunity we had to visit a friends farm the Monday of (Canadian) Thanksgiving Weekend. Our 4 boys all got a chance to try Ax Throwing for the 1st time. My eldest, Arthur, is front and center for this lay-out.

Journaling reads:

1...2...3... THROW!!!

*Beautiful fall day spent at the Buchanan Farm... The Boys were thrilled to try Ax Throwing. Arthur is a natural !!!!*

I ended up going very 'old school' on the circles for this layout, Read: everything is hand-cut!

Was at a small local crop and no one else had a circle cutter there either, so I grabbed the only things I could find to use as guides. Traced  a wide circle around a Styrofoam plate for the biggest circle, when I cut that out and it was a wee lopsided BUT so was the log-slice target the boys were using. huzzah! I meant it be that way (uh-huh...) really. :) The blue circle was an exact tracing of the plate (much better form), the next white circle was traced on a large tin of Prima flowers and the red was the inside of a roll of adhesive.

Really wanted it to look like the target they used so I dragged a light brown ink pad down the 'target' before attaching it to the backing to make the wood cracks.

Also roughed up the background paper with sand paper and ink.

This month's mini-themes for me is 'mother-of-invention and rustic', lol.

Added a 2nd picture with a close-up of Arthur and the target so you can see what I was going for.

Hello and Welcome to SOS!!! Today I am sharing my take on the SOS Circle Challenge. I had so many ideas for this challenge but was inspired by a sketch from Sketch Savvy! The photo is of my youngest grandson and his first Christmas. I have been trying to use up all of my old Christmas collections before purchasing any new ones and this collection by WRMK worked out perfect for this photo. So glad to get one more old Christmas photo completed. We would love to see how you use circles on a layout! Make sure you check back daily for more DT and member inspiration! Happy Holidays!!!

I love Karen's layout and how she had embellishments peeking out from the top of the photo. I also love how she created her title to the side. I focused on those two elements of her design and came up with a layout I am very happy with! This was an excellent layout to Pagerize! Thanks Karen!

Circle Around by Haley

What I have learned to really enjoy about Haley's layouts is that she is not afraid to put together a 2pager which is rare these days, I think. She has yet another of her pieces here today with lots of fun circles :) Deb♥ Haley told us: In some ways it feels like we've come full circle from playing dress up to getting dressed up! Our older daughter is a freshman in high school, so we are experiencing many "firsts" this year. Here she is at her first high school dance, Fall Ball. The pink and gray combo fit her dress and photos perfectly, and I was able to use up lots of my retired stash (mainly from Close To My Heart). I used a large Marvy scalloped circle punch to create my large circles and then nested smaller circles inside for journaling. If you'd like to see more, stop by my blog at http://inkyscrapper.blogspot.com. FallBall.HDyer.01

Meet our Guest Designer, Donna Woods!

I have known Donna for several years through various places/projects and I have come to appreciate her layouts for the love she puts into them. I am  glad to have a spot here on SOS for her and look forward to us working together :)

Here is a little about her and her smiling face :)
My name is Donna Woods and I am Fiskateer #6036.  I have been scrapbooking for about 11 years. I also enjoy mixed media projects and painting, but scrapping is my real passion. I am married to the love of my life.  My 3 children are grown and I have 4 lovely Grandbabies, 3 dogs, 2 rabbits, 2 Prairie Dogs, and a Tonkinese kitty.

Here is her Circle Around Layout and what she wants us to know about it...

The flowers are circular and made with 4 punched circles folded into quarters for each petal. They are topped with round buttons and little circular Enamel Dots are also added. The paper and embellishments are from My Mind's Eye "The Sweetest Thing" line.

I love layouts with circles, I even bought a large circle cutter (and paid a lot for it!)  Problem is I always forget about it, so I was very excited about this month's challenge.  These are pictures of my daughter when she was a couple years old.  She found a roll of Christmas wrapping paper and decided to have some fun!  I used all kinds of circles in the layout, from the circle papers to the bottle caps and buttons!

Pagerize Karen by Elizabeth!

Remember we are Pagerizing Karen this month? Well,Elizabeth is back today with her version. Here is a reminder of Karen's and a reminder to send yours in! We may choose your layout to Pagerize next time!!!
Deb♥

As soon as I saw Karen's scrap page, I just had to pagerize it. I've chosen to scrap a photo taken of my son 42 years ago - the first professional photo taken of him. Although it's a black and white shot, I remember that he was dressed in palest green so I chose papers with green for the page. I've moved the photo cluster up to the right of the page, but otherwise it is more or less the same layout as Karen's. Elizabeth

Tear It by Tammy

I love the challenge this month because I forgot how much I like the look of torn paper--I haven't done it in so long. I love the way this layout turned out. These are photos of my three kids eating Thanksgiving dinner at their grandparents house back in 2010. I tore the paper and then inked the torn edges lightly. The paper is Bella Blvd and Jillibean Soup, and all the embellies are from Bella Blvd. Now it's your turn to give this challenge a try! Blogging Nov 29

Charlotte said this about her layout:

So fun to get to tear paper again! This was something that I used to do alot of, but somehow forgot about! This challenge was a great reminder about a technique that I really like the look of! We are going backwards today to show you a layout DT member made when she pagerized Wendy. We did not have a chance to show it yet so let's first remember Wendy's then hear what Tamara said and see how she interpreted this layout :)
Deb♥

These photos of our last home were the
perfect pics to use on this layout. Loved the three photos matted down the right side. Embellishments were easy to add and this layout whipped up in no time at all. By using a pattern paper for my background, it was just the right amount of busy for this page. Thanks Wendy for the inspiration. I think this set-up is one that I will use again. Tear It by Elizabeth

I still find tearing beautiful patterned paper difficult but that is the challenge so I stealed myself and added a torn piece of Ruby Rock-It's Flourish Vintage and attached it to the lower edge of this page, another for my family history album. The base and the fussy cut flower trim is from the BoBunny Serenity collection. I stamped around the edge with a Victoria and Albert Museum leaf trim and added a chandelier, from Kaisercraft's Le Chateau set, to the top right corner. The lace and trims are vintage style, as is the Prima locket which can be opened to reveal photos of my great-grandparents. I can't say I will ever find tearing paper easy but I do like the effect on this layout.

Hope you like it too.

Tear It by Sarah

Sarah said this about her layout:

Great idea... LOTS of scraps here!

Had several pieces of red and pink partial sheets of paper left from
making October Breast Cancer Awareness Month cards so... that's what I reached for.
Used a photo I've been itching to use too of last February's Starbucks LOVE Cup.
Lurve the Love cup and I love coffee... so a page theme was born.
Page base is a piece of black card-stock layered over with torn strip of red and pink paper
layered over each other, edges all inked.

Here's a secret:

Under the photo the strips are NOT connected.

There wasn't enough paper to reach right across so I had
to cut the shorter strips in 2, lay them across from each other and then
cover the gap with the big photo.

Letters, hearts, gems and coffee stickers are leftovers from other projects.

Cheers!

Tear It by Ange

HI! I can't believe we're on to the November Scrap Our Stash challenge already. This year has really flown by. But we have a super fun challenge for you this month: Tear it! Yep, it's that easy. Here's my layout: I really dug for these papers. I'm not even sure if this kit is from last year, two years ago or... you get the idea. But I still love the papers and don't they look great with those pics of my little guy? Those pictures were from my stash too. lol Here I decided to do a lot of tearing, mostly the patterned paper but as you can see I tore my main photo and my journaling block also. Why not? Just go for it. I inked the pp's and over the top of the pumpkin garland along the bottom. It was brighter than I wanted so I added some brown ink to tone it down a bit. I would love to see your take on this challenge this month. So don't forget to send in what you've made with a little or a lot of tearing. Have fun! :)Ange

Tear It by Haley

Tearing paper is so much fun and can yield such great effects! For my layout of our camping trip to the Asheville, NC, area, I tore my paper to simulate the mountains. With white core cardstock, if you tear the paper toward you, you will reveal the white core. Since I didn't want snowy mountains (or frothy waves, another great use of torn paper), I tore my paper away from me. To further highlight the mountains, I inked up the edges in the same Twilight ink as the cardstock. If you look closely, you can even see "mountains" behind some of my photos. If you'd like to see my layout up close and learn more, be sure to visit my blog at http://inkyscrapper.blogspot.com. I hope to see YOUR torn paper layout featured here this month too! Pagerize #24

Thanks for all the GREAT entries for Pagerize This #23 where we pagerized Wendy! That was fun! No time to let the fun stop so this month we are going to Pagerize our designer Karen!!!

She has said this about her layout

I decided to make a LO for the upcoming Remembrance day coming up here in the UK in November. This summer we visited my Great Grandfather's war grave in Belgium, he died in the First World War. The photo is of Nancy at the grave side ( so her Great Great Grandfather) its called "she will remember them" based on a line from the Laurence Binyon poem For the Fallen which is read out at Remembrance Day services.

I thought there were a few things people might use to Pagerize the LO
- the 6x6 Paper
-the tags and bits of stuff tucked behind
- something to remember a serving or old soldier in the family
- butterflies
- or the use of the scrap strip on the LO

 My LO to Pagerize

...and now it is time for you to get started scraplifting her layout into one of your own! Make sure you send it to groovydeb@yahoo.com with PAGERIZE This #24 in the subject line and we may just choose your layout next month to pagerize!!!

Debbie said this about her layout:

Now that we are in the month of November, many of us may be scrapping those Halloween photos. I took a set of photos from a few years back that I wanted to put on a page. I loved tearing the background patterned paper. It is really quite cathartic! I made a couple of the tears into peek-a-boo windows. I pulled my color palette from the photos that I used. I hope you will join us in this fun challenge this month! We are looking forward to seeing what you create!
