"You Are Perfect..." LO by Rochelle S.

Hey crafters! Did you get a chance to play along with our challenges this month?  Don't  forget,  today is the last day to get your layout uploaded if you haven't already! :)

Well I had a chance to played around with my sketch last week and this is what I came up with:
I used My Mind's Eye Collectables collection, Flowers are Prima, Kaiser Craft, and Recollections, Butterflies are Recollections, Zva Bling, Studio Calico wood veneers, and American Crafts Thickers.  I used my Cricuit to cut the photo frame. I also created this layout for Red Carpet Studio's challenge - Driving Miss Daisy.

"Axel" LO by DT Manda M.

The month is almost over!!!  Did you get your layout uploaded yet? :)
Today we are sharing with you a very cute layout by DT Manda M!  She did such an awesome job on the sketch!! I love how she used the hexagons for the circle! Great idea!
Here's what Manda said about her layout: "I am hopeless with sketches that feature a circle, I am not sure why I have such a hard time with them, they just stump me. So when I want to do a sketch that has a circle I first work out a way I can recreate the shape, for this one I used hexagons from patterned paper and then I stitched around them to give them some definition for the background paper. To add the bling I just used some little adhesive rhinestones and mixed them with the ink dots on my background to add a little bit of sparkle and dimension."

Here's the sketch:
Stash item: Bling

Remember this challenge and the Red, White and Blue challenge is due by tomorrow, July 29th midnight PST! :)

"Woof Woof" LO by DT Lee-Anne T.

Can you say WOW!!!  Lee-Anne brings us this awesome eye catching layout!!!!  I just love how she did her circles with paint and stitching!  Take a look:
Lee-Anne said this about her layout: "This layout is of Elly, my daughter's dog. I began with a piece of white card stock and used Heidi Swapp Color Shine Mists in Mustard, Mint Green and Tinsel. I unscrewed them and "painted" a circle with the sprayer. I then machine stitched several circles are the painted area. I then used my Silhouette Cameo and diecut the flowers and the title and then misted them with Mustard and Mint Green. I printed my photos and adhered them to the layout. I then adhered a doily, a bingo card from the Simple Stories Vintage Bliss Collection. Finally I added some pearls to the centre of the flowers and also added some droplets of mist and then added the cute camera paper clip, wooden butterfly with pearls and lots of Prima bling and pearls."

Once again, here is the sketch:

Only a couple more days to upload your layout! :0)

"Flag 13" LO by DT Lindsey K.

Hey Crafters!  Today Lindsey gives us great inspiration with this awesome layout. She did a great job with the paints and Stickles! Take a look:

This is what Lindsey said about her layout:
Bling all over! All bling no rhinestones; look! Layered bling from back to front: the splatters I literally did with my fingers (a mix of paint, water and Stickles) since I didn't have any mist in the right color blue. To mimic the circle on the sketch, I used Stickles as dots around the photos. Then those bright blue shiny things - I don't know what they are or where they came from, but I figured a bling-boy page was a good time to use them. Then I stuck on the one bling-brad I had, also in royal blue. For more on the background splatters and about this layout, please visit my blog!

You still have a few days to get your layouts uploaded to Mr. Linky on the side bar!  Click HERE to see the CURRENT SKETCH CHALLENGE and the RED, WHITE AND BLUE CHALLENGE - both due by July 29th!

"Little Sucker" LO by DT Kerry B.

Hello Crafters!!! You have to check out this super cute layout by our DT Kerry!   How stinkin' cute is this!  And the title just says it all! I love how she interpreted the sketch, the bubbles and bling heart adds that little bit of spice to a page!
Kerry said, "Whilst searching through my photo's looking for a set of three I came across this photo of my eldest daughter at nine months old (she is now seventeen!) and really wanted to scrap it. She used to have a sponge in the bath that she loved to suck the water through hence the title!
So I have adapted the sketch to one photo but added a couple of Polaroid frames in place of the other two.  I have a great bubble die so I made the big circle in the sketch with lots of the little bubbles instead.  I have scattered some gems around the page and covered the heart on the pink speech bubble too.  All the papers I used are various My Minds Eye collections that I had scraps of and some glitter card from my stash.  I loved making this page even though it took a long while! It was a real labour of love and has become one of my favourites!  I am looking forward to visiting you and seeing what you have created using this sketch. xx"

"Party Time" LO by DT Kelly H.

Take a look at this fabulous layout by DT Kelly H! Love all the colors and circles!
Kelly said, "Such a fun sketch to work with and I loved the circle from the start. I traced the larger red circle and cut out then decided I loved the opposite side and flipped it for the center. I began cutting even more circles to carry out onto the page. I decided I would journal on colored strips and then came the super fun part - adding all the BLING! I grabbed my drawer full and began adding all over the center to bring more excitement to the "party" theme and then found the fun star bling I have had forever. I even had some older glitter stars to add even more bling! I had a great time with these older Bo Bunny papers and all the bling for a party layout. "

Make sure you come back tomorrow to see what DT Kerry brings us! :)

"My Decker Kids" LO by DT Robin R.

Hello!  Today Robin inspires us with this lovely layout about great nieces and nephew.   I love how she altered the bling to the right color she needed! Great idea and great take on the sketch!
 Check it out:
This is what Robin said about her layout, "These pictures of my great-nieces and great-nephew fit perfectly with the three picture placement in the sketch this month. I’ve, MAYBE, seen these kiddos in real life twice, so I appreciate any and all pictures I can get. Luckily, for Instagram, I’ve gotten to know the girls a bit more. I love social media and use it to snag pictures of my family whenever necessary!
For the circle in the sketch, I traced a paper plate with a few different gold paints I had on hand, Art Anthology Gel Paint, 3D Stamp Paint and Tattered Angel’s Glimmer Glam, off-setting the plate a tad with every paint type.  The swirly bling and the two smaller hearts were, originally, white pearls. I used Art Anthology Gel Paint to color them red. I also used my Copic Markers to color them red. You probably have a lot more colors in your stash than you realize if you just try coloring them with various mediums."

You can find information on the challenge and the Red, White and Blue challenge HERE.

"Summer 2013" LO by DT Jenni C.

It's Monday!!! What a great way to start of this week with fabulous inspiration!! Jenni did a fantastic job interpreting the sketch using a trendy pie chart as the circle! How fun is that! What a gorgeous layout and great use of stash too!

Jenni said this about here layout:
"The first thing I thought about when I saw this sketch, was a pie chart, or in this case a color wheel! I watercolored the different shades of green that remind me of Spring's new growth to Summer blooms. I added lots of butterflies in the similar shades and that is where I used my bling! I think the little rhinestones help move your eye around the page."

Here's another look at the sketch:
Stash: Add bling

Don't forget to upload your layout on the side bar!

Happy Scrappin'!

"Siblings" LO by DT Louella A.

Today Louella share with us a stunning layout!  I really love the layering of the dolies and how she added single rhinestones with the paint splatters! Check it out:
Louella said this about her layout: "simply love doilies and blings. I always used the splatter technique for my page. I tried to make it simple but I ended up putting a lot again. I just hope that my cousin will like this little present though. I heard that they were feeling unwell today. Here is to wishing them their speedy recovery. "

Come back tomorrow to see what DT Jenni brings us! :)

"Fun Ride" LO by DT Joefil C.

Happy Scrappin' Saturday! :)
DT Joefil brings us inspiration with this very pretty layout she created! I love how she incorporated the doily as one of her circles. Such a great job on of the sketch challenge!
This is what Joefil said about her layout:
This is my daughter when she was two yrs. old, in one of the rides in circus-circus adventuredome here in vegas. I used white cardstock for the background, the circle paper is by dcwv,and i add doily in the center of the circle, the polaroid frame is by basicgrey and i stamped it with the words good times in the red banner i also added some tickets from basicgrey, die cuts butterflies, flowers and added some misting then my bling from want 2 scrap and recollections."

Woohoo it's Friday!!! :)
Today we are featuring Patricia's super cute and fun layout.  Her doodling and hand journaling makes this layout extra special!  I love her interpretation of the sketch. Check it out:
Patricia noted:
Journaling reads: "Mommy loves the fact that the most little things make you smile! That good ole' Thrifty's Ice Cream on a cone does it each and every time! Smile on Baby Girl!"

Products Used:
Paper - Lilybee Designs, Carta Bella (Summer Cool line), White Cardstock
Wooden embellish, Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Walnut Stain), Heidi Swapp Color shine (Sweet Cherry). Pink Flower, Bling, Polka Paper Clip (Recollections)
Alphas: Colorbok & SNAP Studio - Simple Stories

And here is the sketch:

Now it's your turn to try out the sketch! ;)

"Family Everyday" LO by DT Elizabeth H.

Oh my! Elizabeth's take on the sketch is fabulous! I love the feel of the yellow polk a dot circle with the black and white border.  The masking with the outlined heart is a wonderful touch to the layout. Take a look:

Elizabeth said this about her layout: "I wanted to use the circle as a bases for my entire
layout so I incorporated circles throughout including tying the challenge {using bling} in with all of my circles as I pulled from my stash all of the bling type things I had! I also kept the photo like the sketch so that it was a contrast between shapes."

Come back tomorrow to see what DT Patrica has for us! :)

July 17, 2013

"Summer Girl" LO by DT Dulcinea S.

Happy Hump Day!!!
Today DT Dulcinea brings us this gorgeous layout!  She captures the challenge very well using a very fun circle! The colors are refreshing and the bling is placed perfectly! Check it out:
Here's what Dulcinea said about her layout:
"My niece loves to take pictures from herself and I love to scrap them. For today’s challenge  I use her most recent summer picture to talk how much she likes summer. Since I love circles, the first time I saw the sketch I knew I would have it as my focal point. I printed the pictures in a really small size and I repeat it to emphasizes it. After that, it is just time for playing a little bit with ribbon and bling for a fun and fresh look."

"Journey" LO By DT Carol S.

Today we have an awesome layout from our DT Carol S.  I love how she interpeted the sketch using the wood grain paper! What a wonderful idea.  She used her stash very well on this layout showcasing their journey. Take a look:

This is what Carol had to say about her layout:
"This was a true challenge for me! First because I hardly ever use more than 1 picture on a layout and second because I never use bling! (most of my pages are "guy pages"!) But I really like challenges and was very happy to make this layout! I use pictures of my son and his cousins on our trip to the USA last December! This page will go to my DisneyWorld album!"

Stay tuned for more inspiration! :)

July Guest Designer ~ Michele Duffy

is back and sharing her fabulous layout inspired by our July sketch:
This is what Michele said about her layout:

"This will sound a little crazy, but this is the third time I've tried to scrap these Christmas photos. Previously I used another sketch that wasn't really my style, and the papers were bright red, green and white Christmas colors. I thought this sketch worked so much better for my photos and easily allowed for a little layering. I also chose My Mind's Eye and Lawn Fawn papers that have a more subtle Christmas color scheme. I mixed rhinestones and enamel dots to spread some color around the page. I love it!"

Did you know that everyday we post new inspiration from our Design Team?  Yup!!! So come back tomorrow to see what DT Carol has for us! :)

Happy Scrappin'!

Introducing New Design Team Member, Manda Moore

happy Sunday Everyone!
I hope you have been enjoying a wonderful weekend!
Today is the last day of our DesignTeam Introductions.
We are pleased to introduce to you:
Manda Moore
"I am a crafty girl and graphic designer who has a major love affair with pretty papers. I live in country Victoria, Australia.

My mother and grandmother encouraged me to be creative from a very young age, whether it was colouring, painting or playing with clay and I have always loved art and design in some form or another. I started out in the world of paper craft by making cards and as the world of patterned paper and embellishments consumed me it was only a matter of time that I would discover scrapbooking and once I did there was no turning back.

When I am not working or playing in my scraproom I love cooking, photography, travel and of course hanging out with my two kittens, Harry and Winston."

Manda's Blog:  Mandalika Designs

Check out Manda's amazing take on our
Red, White and Blue Challenge:
"Sky High"
Here is what Manda had to say about her layout:
"Red, white, blue and stars was perfect for my Empire State Building photo! Because the photo is B&W I used lots of white space so it didn't get lost in all the patterned paper. Stars were a bit of a challenge for me as it is not an embellishment I am drawn to and I didn't want them to be the main focus of the layout. After a dig into my stash I found some star brads and little stickers which I mixed in with my ink splatters"

Scrap Our Stash is so excited to have Manda joining our team!   You definitely will be inspired by her fabulous work!

Lee-Anne Thornton
"I am married to by best friend Rick, have three great kids, and now that two have left the nest I have only one left at home so it gives me more time to let my creative wings fly.

It has been such an honor to be on design teams inspiring others, and also to be published in several scrapbooking magazines such as Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine, Scrap ‘N Art Magazine, Scrapbooking.com Magazine and Scrapbook News and Review Magazine. It has also been great to make friends all over the world that share the same passion.

I am so happy to be on the Scrap Our Stash Team! I would love if you stop by my blog and become a follower."

Introducing Returning Design Team Member, Lindsey Krauss

Happy Friday Everyone!
Today we are excited to introduce our returning Design Team Member:
Lindsey Krauss
"Hi! I'm Lindsey and I've been scrapbooking for over 13 years. I'm mostly scrapbooking for my family, dh, ds & dd, but occasionally you'll see my dcs (dear canines) and other life-happenings as well. I
prefer to create simple, photo+stash+paper pages, but I've always said I'll try anything once in scrapbooking. I've been on a no-buy for a few years now, since my favorite kit club ended. However, I have a dream scrapbooking room and plenty of stash in it to last for a few more years. And then there's always Hobby Lobby... Thanks for coming by SOS; I believe scrapbooking supplies are meant to be timeless, so don't be afraid to bring anything back!"
Lindsey's Blog:  Better When Choreographed

Below is Lindsey's awesome take on our
Red, White and Blue Challenge:

"Little Girl, Big Girl Quad"
Here's what Lindsey had to share about her layout:
"I love to work with red, white and blue - and stars! But with these pictures, I wanted something rugged, but girly, like my girly; so I turned the wooden stars into flowers. The page was still to plain because I had to red or blue mist, so at the very last minute, I pulled off the pictures and added the oval colors. I accidentally dropped the markers onto the page, which created some splattering - and that's how the dotted action started! Last thing I did was add some tiny stars and found a place for the journaling. I've had those wooden stars forever, and that 'cutie' tag was perfect for this one, too.
For more details on this layout, please visit my blog"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are excited to have Lindsey returning as a an SOS Design Team Member, and looking forward to sharing more of her inspirational work!   Please join with us in extending her a warm welcome back for a second term!"
Remember, you have until July 29th to complete our current Red, White, and Blue Stash Challlenge.   We would love to see your take on the challenge.   For details click HERE
Introducing New Design Team Member, Kerry Bruce
Hello and Welcome to the Scrap Our Stash Blog!
Today we are pleased to introduce new Design Team member:
Kerry Bruce
"Hello, my name is Kerry Bruce and I am a wife and mother to three teenage girls and we live in a small village in the UK.
My love (bordering on obsession) of scrapbooking began after attending a course many years ago and now I run my own scrapbook club locally.
My favourite stash is of course paper and if I can cut the pattern out to make embellishments even better! I love glitter, sequins and mists although I think this is due to scrapbooking girly layouts so much! I wouldn't want to be without a black pen as I tend to doodle on my pages a lot and I am still waiting for my house to sprout another room so I can have my own dedicated craft space!
I am looking forward to playing along with you all in creating lasting memories and most importantly having fun while we are at it!"
Kerry's Blog:  Scrapbooking - For The Love of Paper
Kerry doubled up on us to create her wonderful reveal for the
Red, White, and Blue Challenge:
"Diamond Jubilee"
Here is what Kerry shared about her layout:
"As soon as I read the details of this challenge I knew it would have to be a layout about our Queens Diamond Jubilee Celebrations from last year. There were all sorts of things going on locally the whole weekend and we attended the music festival and fireworks that were being held just behind our home. I decided to make my layout a double pager and managed to recreate the Union Jack flag out of cardstock! (the photos hide a multitude of mistakes!) Then I placed my photos on top, and kept the rest of the page fairly simple, except you can't do a layout of the British Royalty without having bunting somewhere on the page and I do so love glitter! The only pre-made stars I had in my stash were some yellow buttons or some tiny sequin ones in gold! So I decided to colour the gold ones red and blue with my Promarkers and then used them to decorate around the title."
Scrap Our Stash is happy to have Kerry joining our team and we are sure her creations will inspire you to dig into your stash,  and create something wonderful to share with us!
Introducing Returning Design Team Member, Kelly Holifield
Happy Wednesday friends of SOS!
Today we are back with another Design Team Introduction.
We are so excited to have Kelly back for a second term!!!
For those of you who may be new to SOS, meet
Kelly Holifield
"My name is Kelly and I live in Texas with my hubby of 15 years who is thankfully very supportive of my crafting habit. We have 2 boys ages 14 and 13 as well as a 3 year old puppy who is our baby boy. I’ve loved crafts since I was little creating all kinds of things from cross stitching, rug making, sewing, crocheting, quilting and now playing with paper for scrapbooking, card making and an occasional altered item. My paper crafting style includes distressing and creating in clean lines with an occasional flair of ink or paint. I am a huge fan of using sketches and other challenges for inspiration. Other hobbies I enjoy are watching my boys play sports, reading, gardening, and fishing. I currently design for Paper Secrets, Sketch N Scrap & All About Boys. I am so excited to be a part of the Scrap Our Stash team for another term and look forward to creating with the team.
Please visit me at Creating With Paper anytime.
I would love to have you stop by!" :)
And here is  Kelly's take on our Red White and Blue Challenge.
Check out the awesome firework embellishments she created:
"Fireworks 2010"
Here is what Kelly shared about her layout:
"I knew I wanted to create some painted fireworks with my red and navy blue acrylic paints so I grabbed my arrow template and a sponge to create the shooting arrows above the photos. I have been hoarding the Pebbles Inc. Let Freedom Ring collection for a while now and decided it was a perfect time to dig into that festive stash! I wanted to find a sketch to work with but once I started playing with the papers, I just started cutting and stacking and decided I was happy with the arrangement. I took some of my scraps and cut them into 2.5” x 3.5”, ran tape along the top and side of the scraps, knotted some twine on one end and rolled each up to create some fireworks embellishments. Then I dug into the depths of my stars stash and used quite a bit of a variety to sprinkle along the top and bottom. I have so many more I could use but am happy to get a few more stars out of my stash and on my layout!" :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Please join us in welcoming Kelly back for a second term and more of her wonderful inspiring creations!  I have a feeling she is going to turn it up a few notches this term!!!

Introducing New Design Team Member, Robin Redd

Hi Everyone!
Welcome to day 8 of our Design Team Introductions!
Today meet our nee designer:
Robin Redd
Hi, I’m Robin Redd.
I’ve been scrapbooking for over 15 years.
I’m 49 years old. I have two adult children. I try to be ‘artsy’ everyday.
I MOSTLY scrapbook, but, I also stamp, make cards, etc. I’m learning mixed media and art journaling. I’ve done some jewelry making. My biggest passion is shopping for art and craft supplies. I just LOVE them!

Robin' Blog:  West Coast Scrapper

Below is Robin's fabulous take on our Red White and Blue Challenge!
The star diecut is amazing and really adds an awesome touch to Robin's layout!

"Pray For Boston"

And this is what Robin shared about her layout:
"I had a fun time with this challenge as my first submission as a Design Team Member! The challenge being use Red, White and Blue papers, ONLY....optional: Kraft paper and use AT LEAST 3 pre-made STAR embellishments. I took advantage of this and made a small cluster of star Jesse James buttons I've had in my stash for more years than maybe some of you have been scrapbooking!

This layout is in honor of the bombings that terrorized Boston the day of the Boston Marathon. Flags at half-mast were seen across the nation as was this one in the parking lot of a restaurant we visited.

Most papers are from Teresa Collin’s line, Noted. I’ve also used Blue Bubbles from Studio Calico.

I cut the star mat from my Cameo Silhouette and reused a glassine envelope from a Studio Calico Kit I had received. Inside the envelope holds the journaling on a tag that easily pulls out.
The stamp is Tim Holtz, Americana Blueprints colored with Copic Markers.
I'd love to see your take on this challenge.

We are thrilled to have Robin as part of our SOS team and looking forward to sharing more of her creations with you!  Please join us in welcoming Robin by leaving a comment below!

Introducing New Design Team Member, Jenni Calma

Hello!!!
Hope your weekend was wonderful and relaxing!
Today we are excited to introduce our New Design Team Member:
Jenni Calma
"Hello! My name is Jenni Calma. I retired from Architecture to stay at home with my two children. A girl of 9 (going on 15) and a boy who is 6. I started keeping my first “scrapbooks” in college which were my studio sketchbooks. I used them more like smashbooks - that started my love of combining journaling with photos, drawings & paper. After the birth of my daughter, I bought a couple of books of Cathy Zielske’s and Ali Edward’s and fell in love!

My husband and I met in Architecture school and have been best friends for more than 21 years, married for 12. Aside from my craving to create, I am a typical Virgo, a little OCD, (except in my craft room where chaos is welcome), an avid reader, pinterest addict, a lover of dogs, peanut butter (preferably with chocolate), cardinals, red wine, anything Italian, and my children’s laughter.

I am delighted to be joining the Scrap Our Stash Challenge design team and to collaborate with such amazingly talented scrapbookers."

Jenni's Blog:  Paper Cardinal

Below is Jenni's take on our Red White and Blue Challenge!
She has added so many wonderful details and elements to her page:

"But I've bought a big hat..."
Here is what Jenni shared about her layout:
"This is my first challenge as part of the DT at Scrap Our Stash and it was perfect timing for
scrapping some fun photos from the beach! I FINALLY used these red and white polka dot
doilies that have been in a kitchen drawer for 6 years! I used a kraft envelope to tuck my
hidden journaling into. I used stars from my stash that were wood veneer, chipboard,
stickers, metal stars and some that I water colored the same blue as the background!"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Scrap Our Stash is excited to have Jenni on our team and looking forward to her sharing her awesome projects with our followers!   Please join us in extending Jenni a warm welcome by leaving a message below.
I am sure you would all agree that, each of the Design Team Members we have introduced thus far, have shared some amazing projects inspired by our Red White & Blue Challenge.
Introducing New Design Team Member, Louella Mae Ailermo
Today is the beginning of another week of Design Team Introductions and
Red, White & Blue inspiration!
It is our pleasure at SOS to introduce you to
Louella Mae Aliermo
"I'm Louella Mae Aliermo, 26 yrs old from Philippines but currently staying here in Dubai, UAE. I'm a nurse by profession.
And Trust me I'm a Scrapbooker!
My Life is amazingly simple. For me, you need to do just one thing – open your heart to love: love what you have; love what you do, and love other people.
ì scrap because I need a creative outlet. I need to share stories, I need to photograph what I see, I need to record history, I need to fulfill a PURPOSE.. Because to me it’s a basic need.
In the same way, as I leave this legacy for my family, I am constantly reminded how often God invades my space and my time, even if I am not aware of it immediately.
And you know what, I'm still a beginner; so join me with my creative journey."
My Blog:  Endless Options
Take a look at Louella's fabulous layout inspired by our
  Red White and Blue Challenge!
I really love the overall design and how she incorporated her photo into this layout!
"Hi"
Here is what Louella had to say about her layout:
"I scrapbook. I create art. I preserve memories.
"In nothing are we as rich as in our memories; they are pictures painted by our hearts, and nothing can erase them.I just love this picture of my Son."
