Sketch #23 Inspiration and a Reminder!!!

Hello, Happy Saturday!!!
Just sharing a couple of layouts Rochelle and I created inspired by our

First up is Rochelle with a beautiful "girly" layout...
"Love This"
Rochelle shared this about her layout:
"This layout is about my daughter and the love she has for swimming. I used an older Ecko Park paper collection that I hadn't used. The colors were perfect… except the blue is a lot darker. I also flipped the sketch and used 3 photos instead of 2 photos."

And here is my take on this month's sketch challenge:
"Puppy Love"
"I loved working with Lisa's sketch!
I completed my layout using Simple Stories "Hugs & Kisses" collection, which combined with the sketch was perfect for these photos of my granddaughter and her first puppy, which she absolutely adores."

Here is the sketch, created by our February Guest Sketch Artist
Lisa Hidy
and the color palette that we were required to use:

"me, Myself & I" Layout by DT Nicole

Hello!

Today's wonderful inspiration is brought to you by our DT member Nicole:
Here's what Nicole shares with us:
"For this challenge, I decided to go down to basics, that means, create a layout all about ME! I used an older collection from Pink Paislee 'Indigo Bleu' and had fun finding embellishments to go with the W-A-S-H-I challenge. W is for wood veneer (flags, heart and camera) from Teresa Collins. I also added wooden buttons. A is for the ampersand that I included in my title. I love the look of a big ampersand on any layout! S is for stitching. Anyone familiar with my style know that I normally add handmade stitching on most of my layouts. Well, I went all out with this one, stitching along all the vertical lines on the Pink Paislee background paper. H is for heart which I found in a die-cut shade from the Indigo Bleu collection and of course the wood veneer. I is for, well, ME! It's a layout about me and the letter "I" was inspiration for the theme. If you want to see details, visit me at http://scrap-utopia.blogspot.com/"

"My Dad & I" Layout by DT Tanti

 Happy Hump Day!
We are half way through the work week! :)
Today we are sharing with you fabulous inspiration from are DT member Tanti:
Here's what Tanti shares with us about her layout:
"This is my layout with now and then photos of my Dad and I.
I was thinking of him a lot lately, since he passed away last summer. The old photo is the only childhood photo that I have with him. Since he was the person who usually stood behind the camera and took the pictures.
So I have to document it.
To complete the challenge I used:
W - Washi Tapes ( Film stripes and black polka dots).
A - Arrow ( Paper clips).
S - Sequins.
H - Hearts ( Wood Veneers and puffy stickers).
I - Ink."

"We're Finally Here" Layout by DT Steffanie

 Happy Monday!!

Today's inspiration is brought to you by our fabulous DT member Steffanie:
Here's what Steffanie shares with us:
"As you can see, I'm still working on those Disney photos. This is just one photo so not making a big dent in the pile with this layout. Oh well...it's all about the creativity, right? And I love scrapping my Disney pages!

I pulled out lots of small elements to make up the letters for this challenge.
Here is what I came up with:
W - washi tape, (of course!)
A - arrows and assorted alphabets
S- stars
H- hearts
I - ink pens in black and white for outlining

Normally I ink the edges of everything (which would have been another supply starting with "I"), but I decided to distress the edges of my papers with scissors instead. Every once in a while you need to change things up a bit."

"Out With The Old, In With The New" LO by DT Patricia

Today's inspiration is from DT Patricia!  She share with us her take on the January sketch challenge:

Patricia had this to say about her layout:

"This layout was inspired by 2 photos I had for the new year. One holds many of the items I tend to embrace this new year and the other shows the year 2013 being washed away by water....bye bye 2014!

The product I used all came from Scrapbook Room in which I simply love receiving their monthly kits. Not sure of the month, but everything used in this layout comes from Simple Stories, with the exception of the Alpha letters. I also used some twine string and my lovely washi in the lower right hand corner. I absolutely love the colors in this Simple Stories collection.
Hope you enjoy, thanks for looking!
Happy New Years!"

Today is the last day to upload your layouts for the Sketch Challenge and Countdown Challenge.  You have until the end of the day (PST) to upload!! Hurry! :)

"2 of a Kind" LO by DT Megan

Today's gorgeous inspiration comes from our DT Megan Beaubien:
Megan said this about her layout:
"For this challenge, I scrapbooked pictures of my yougest son, Max and his cousin, Will. They are only 8 months apart and are quite the pair when they are together! I ended up flipping the sketch for my layout. My premade number is the 2 from Basic Grey's RSVP line. I used a lot of the Studio Calico Printshop line, as well as the Add-on Rome from Studio Calico's October kit. The boys' names were cut from my Silhouette Cameo using the Voluptate font."

"Silvester 06-07" Layout by DT Tanti

Hi Everyone!!!
Todays awesome inspiration was created by DT Tanti and inspired by our
January Sketch with Stash Challenge:
Tanti shared this about her layout and take on the challenge:
"I loved this challenge. It gave me the chance to finally use my "Thickers" numbers from American Crafts.
The title of my page is German and it means "New Year's Eve".
For the sketch, I've chosen two pictures of my daughter who played with sparklers on that night.
I also used from my stash the "Party Day" paper collection by Crate Paper.

Here is another look at this month's sketch from our sponsor,
dig into your stash of numbers, include some on your layout and get it linked up on our sidebar for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate from :

"22 Years of Friendship" LO by DT Kerry

Happy Saturday!

Today's wonderful inspiration is from DT Kerry:
Kerry said this about her layout:
"Such a versatile sketch to work with and using numbers on my page is not something I do very often so it's nice to delve into those underused sections of my Thickers!  I used My Minds Eye papers for the background and found some washi tape that matched with the Sn@p card I used. This challenge certainly had me using up plenty of my stash that had been unloved until now.  What memories will you record with the use of numbers? Love to see your take on this great sketch. xx"

Make sure you come back tomorrow for more inspiration! :)

"How Many Rolls Do You Have?" LO by DT Kelly

DT Kelly brings us today's awesome inspiration:
This is what Kelly say's about her layout:
"How many rolls do you have? - My sweet chunky baby boy back in 1999. I knew right away what I wanted to do with my extra numbers from my Echo Park Brothers kit with those little rolls showing up so well in the photos. I used up scraps from so many different manufacturers: Simple Stories, We R Memory Keepers, Jillibean Soup, Websters Pages, My Minds Eye, Echo Park and Authentique. I can't wait to see the other takes on the sketch challenge!"

If you haven't already, get your layout uploaded on our side bar soon! The challenges end in just a few days!  Remember.. the prize is a $20 Gift Card to The ScrapRoom!  See the challenges HERE.

"Big Dawg For 2" LO by DT Robin

Today's wonderful inspiration come from DT Robin:
Robin said this about her layout:
Big Dawg for 2
"One of our favorite Harley ride destinations is Tom’s Farms in Corona.
On this visit, we tried their Big Dawg hot dogs.
I knew better…that I was going to need my own. No sharing for me!
That lovely, large, wood, veneer, 2 is from Freckled Fawn."

"1,2, 3 Little Birds" LO by Jenni

Today's wonderful inspiration comes from DT member Jenni Calma:
Jenni said this about her layout:

"I love a good sketch, nothing more encouraging for some slow mojo than a great place to start! And this one has plenty of room for interpretation and manipulation!  I love taking pictures of my kids with their cousins, whom they adore, especially now that everyone can look at the camera and do what Aunt Jenni says!    Unfortunately, one little bird was sick and wasn't in these photos, so they didn't feel quite complete.  I played with lots of patterns and neutral grays to go with my stash numbers, from  Heidi Swapp in a lighte teal. All the other colors and embellishments following along!"

Happy Scrappin'!

"So Happy Together" LO by DT Leila

Today's beautiful inspiration comes from DT Leila:

Leila says this about her layout:

"For me being with family is what is best. How we live away from all family members, I am very happy when my kids are enjoyed them. In the photos, Matheus and Maria Clara with Uncle Lyncoln. Actually are my "3" children, because this brother was born when I was 19 and I kind of adopted her as a child, and always loved him very much! Love you kids!"

Make sure you come back tomorrow for more inspiration! :)

"Hello Sunshine" LO by DT Joefil

DT Joefil brings us today's awesome inspiration:

Joefil said this about her layout:
"In this sketch challenge I used my daughter photos from last summer, and I also used American crafts my girl paper collection, then the title is my first cut from my new cameo, so excited about that and I love it, then I water color the title with light blue and yellow, I also water color the small clouds and splatters some in the page, and the rest of the embellishment is from my stash."

"Today & Everyday" LO by Rochelle

Today I get to share with you my layout inspired by The Scrap-Room's sketch:
I am fortunate to be a designer over at The Scrap-Room and I love it!  I used the Simple Stories Daily Grind collection from the January 2014 kit. I only had 1 photo to used for this sketch so I added the film reel to take up the space. I added 2013 for the pre-made/packaged numbers and also the "08" sticker on the calendar wheel. Everything is from the kit, except the chipboard pieces which is an add-on item from TSR and the twine is from my stash!

Happy Scrappin'!

January 17, 2014

"Always & Forever" LO by DT Dulcinea

DT Dulcinea brings us inspiration today based on The Scrap-Room sketch:
This is what Dulcinea said about her layout, "I don't know you, but I feel I have much number on my stash and I want to use them. For this challenge I want to do something different. I love romantic layouts, but since this picture of my niece it's so teen, I have to try something more colorful and modern. Numbers give a modern feel and combine with my message: time pass so fast that she needs to enjoy her time and remember this time of her life. Hope you like the inspiration and I want to see how you use your numbers!"

Check out the challenge HERE. :)
