Design Team Wendy submitted this Frugal Friday Tip: Something I always keep on hand is plain white and cream cardstock. They are basic scrapbooking supplies that I can always use. Sometimes I've got the perfect color in mind for a layout, like the one here, and I am out of that color - now what do I do?! Here's the answer: I take that white or cream cardstock (that I always have on hand) and add ink to it to create my perfect color in place of that cardstock that I didn't have. For this particular layout I used textured paper and just rubbed my ink pad directly overtop of the paper. It was very quick and easy and gave me the matching color I was looking for. There are many other ways to add color. You can use a sponge, stipple brush, or texture brush/sponge. Each technique will give a different look. Give this a try the next time (you think) you don't have quite what you are looking for!
