Pagerize Julie by Ange

Design Team Member Ange submitted this layout for the Pagerize This Challenge # 13. She said:

I decided to use the basic design of Julie's layout. I don't have a lot of softball themed papers but I've picked up stickers and embellishments here and there. So I decided to use regular kraft cs for my background and a large grid stamp for the matte behind the main photo, because I liked Julie's use of stamps. After that I started adding embellishments and stickers. The cord for the 'play hard' slider came off of some clothing tags from my daughter's school pants we just bought, I stapled the cord into place and added my stickers. Some of them needed a little more pop, so I broke out the white pen and went to work on the game day sticker and word Softball by adding some hand drawn stitching, and some "speed" lines behind the stars and bat. I didn't have a lot of journaling to add so I just wrote who, where, when on one of the bottom photos. I really loved that Julie's stamps had a doodled look to them and I felt like my layout needed a border. So I drew softball stitches around the layout. It was super fun pagerizing Julie's layout!

Pagerize Julie by Wendy C.

Design Team Member Wendy C. submitted this layout for the Pagerize This Challenge # 13.  She said:

Here is my pagerize of Julie's page. I loved the whole color combo and I was able to use lots of scraps for all the pieces behind the photo. This is my youngest daughter's school photo and we always get an information card for that year with their ages, hair color, eye color....for safety purposes. I used a chipboard tag to hold this card and hid it behind the photo. I also used up some chipboard flowers. I stamped a smaller image of a flower onto the chipboard and then colored it in with markers and a little bit of ink. Great challenge Julie! :)

Pagerize Julie by Wendy K.

I started with Julie's layout in general and went from there. I ended up with the three pictures on the bottom and liked that but I struggled as I worked on the top of the page. I did start with a princess theme with the paper pack I chose and had a crown that I kept playing with but it didn't make the final cut. I finally came up with the glitter stars and LOVE how they turned out! You may also notice I also added small glitter dots to the background paper.

One thing I did with this layout was combined new product with my old stash to create something I like. I remember when this paper first came out, I thought it was so cute. Today I had a hard time making it into something I liked with the matching stickers. By adding the border (new product) and glitter I was able to create a page that I was happy with and still use up some of my old stash.

You can view all the details on My Scrapbooking Blog.

Pagerize This Challenge # 13

Pagerizer # 12 Tammy chose Julie as our Pagerizer # 13. Julie Said:

Thanks so much Tammy for choosing my layout! I hope members will find inspiration from this page I did about our dog. When he was a puppy we were sure he would not be allowed on the lounge, but it turned out his desire to get on the lounge was greater than ours to keep him off! The two main elements to "pagerize" on this layout is the hidden journalling and the use of fun stamps for the title, journalling block and embellishments. The main photo is sewn onto the page on three sides, with the right hand side left open for a journalling tag to peek out. Notice the gold embossing, the little bit of bling on the crown and the colour purple. A layout fit for a king!

Julie

Each month on the 15th we will post a new layout for you to "pagerize" (plagerize, copy, lift, steal) whatever term you want to use. The idea will be - to use the posted layout as your inspiration to create your own layout. You can "pagerize" as much or as little of the original layout as you choose. You may want to make a layout just like the one posted - or you may just want to use something about the layout as your inspiration.

This challenge ends on September 12, 2011 at midnight central time. Then Julie will choose a winner from the submissions. The winner will become our next Pagerizer.

Once you've completed your layout - email a picture and brief description to scrappinpsycho@live.com . All entries will be posted here at Scrap Our Stash. The challenge runs through midnight central time on September 12th. The "Pagerizer" (in this case Julie), will then choose a winner from all the entries. The winner will be announced on September 14th. Then the winner will be asked to submit a layout for us to "Pagerize" starting on the 15th of September.
