"I had this picture of my dad (maybe age 18?) sitting on my desk since last year so I knew this challenge was perfect for me to finally do a vintage layout since I haven't done one in ages! Plus, I wanted any excuse to use this awesome feather!

"I continue to be inspired by quilting in scrapbooking. This time I pieced together a collection of patterned papers around four photos taken at Joshua Tree in January. I then added stitching around all the pieces. However, I just noticed I forgot to stitch one of the pieces. Can you find it?

Scrap Our Stash is excited to announce that we are accepting applications for our next term.  We are in search of Designers who are enthusiastic, reliable and committed.  We welcome International, past and present designer submissions.   Designers with no prior experience are also encouraged to apply.

DATES to remember:

• Submissions will be taken until: May 23, 2015
• New Design Team will be announced:  June 14, 2015
• New Design Reveals: July 1st

SOS Design Team Requirements:

• Commit to a 6 month term: July 1 – Dec 31, 2015
• Complete 2 projects a month (Challenges are posted 2-3 months in advance with due dates)
• Visit challenge participants blogs and leave comments.
• Maintain an active and updated blog.
• Post our challenges, events, and your projects on your blog on reveal day and link back to the SOS Blog.
• Promote SOS challenges and events on Facebook, Twitter, etc.
• Display the SOS “Design Team Blinkie” on your blog   
• Actively participate in one blog hop or event during the term.  
• Submit your DT reveals no later than five days before scheduled post.
• Have a Facebook account.  Our Design Team Group is on FB and that is how we communicate with the team.

Benefits:

• A link to your blog and your photo will be displayed on the SOS blog, which has a large following.
• Your creations will be promoted through several online sources.

"On the Road" Layout by DT Claire

Happy Mother's Day!!!

Today's featured layout is the awesome creative work of DT Claire, inspired by our

May Stash Challenge:

Claire:

"Loving these stash challenges, inspired me to pull out a photo from 2009 and start my travel album from Washington to Colorado. This is the title page to that album. I used Crate Paper Journey along with My Mind's Eye Essentials and an old die cut title. 

E: emboss (dry and heat)

M: modeling paste, My Mind's Eye

B: button, banner

O: October Afternoon flair, "O" -on, our, 101, road

S: staples, sequins

S: stencil

I heat embossed the title. I had black embossing powder that had not been used yet. I also embossed the wood veneer sheet using a wood grain embossing folder, then proceeded to hide it under the layers, ha! I made my own banner using the die cut pack and chipboard pieces, which is one of my favorite embellishing methods. 

I hope you have fun with this challenge and I cant wait to see your layouts using E-M-B-O-S-Sing."

"Alex Gone Wild" Layout by DT Nicole

Today we are featuring this awesome "wild" layout created by DT Nicole,

Nicole:

Hello! I've got a fun and WILD layout to share with you today based on Stash Challenge #26! This layout is actually a frame that I created as a special order from a friend for one of her friends' little boy. With no further ado, let's go ahead and see what stash I used based on the word of the month, E-M-B-O-S-S! E - I went along with the word itself and I used some dry embossing on the tags using my Cuttlebug. M - The fun corrugated cardboard shapes come from a Canadian company called Magenta. B - You've probably recognized the fabulous Bo Bunny collection 'Zoology' that I was lucky enough to win back when it was first released a couple years ago! O - I struggled with this one because I must admit, I had already created most of my layout before I started thinking of the letter 'O'. Nothing I could think of seemed to work, unless I got a little help from my friend Rochelle who came up with 'orange'... That fit in perfectly with my layout. I used orange Distress Stain to color some twine that I tied on one of the tags. I also used some orange brads. S - I added some handmade stitching. S - My page just wouldn't be the same without all those cute dimensional stickers from the Bo Bunny collection! I hope you like my layout! If you do, come and visit my blog at

"My family and I live in a small suburb of Kansas City, Kansas, just over an hour and a half north of where I grew up. I am a former kindergarten teacher turned adoring wife to BJ and stay-at-home, homeschool mom to Ezekiel (11), Adina (6), and Kaden (1). When I’m not taking care of or playing with my family, you can find me cooking, baking, gardening, camping, sewing, taking pictures, blogging at Soaring, and of course, paper crafting. "I just love the freedom that comes with the challenges at Scrap Our Stash! I like to load my pages with lots of layers and details, so I always find picking an item for each letter of the chosen word, while challenging, super fun! Inspiration for my page came from that gorgeous, Dear Lizzy, moon phases, patterned paper, which came in my Noel Mignon Hello Darling Classic Kit this month, and I knew would pair perfectly with these photos of my baby bear. He was just three-days-old in the pics and all snug and toasty warm after his bath on his first morning at home. Further inspiration came from a fun, Washi Tape stamp set, as well as lots of tags, Polaroids, and veneer bits, that I just received in a scrumptious box from Elle’s Studio.

"Although this photo didn't come out good, it is very special to me. This photo was taken on Thanksgiving with my husband and children, at my ex-husband's house, with our children we have together and his family. It is so wonderful for a blended family to come together and have such a great time. I know it's hard for most to understand the dynamics of a how blended families work, but this photo represents that with much love, dedication and support, it works and it works wonderfully! We are truly a blessed family and I cherish them dearly! :)

Tracy:

"The first thing that inspired me most about the inspirational photo was the color palette. I just love happy, bright colors! And I instantly knew which photo I was going to scrap too! 

I dug into my older paper collections and Sketchbook by Amy Tangerine was the perfect choice. I gathered up some bits and pieces of the papers and did some fussy cutting as well. I also included a bright yellow flower doilie that was perfect for the colors too, along with some homemade yoyo flowers that I've had stored in a jar for years. 

I'm really enjoying myself being on the SOS DT because it's giving me the incentive to actually dig through my older, stashed product and use it up!"

"First 5K in 2014 and it was so much fun! Color Run at the National Harbor and the temps were perfect, Had a foot injury so I walked it and it was still lots of fun with the bff and my daughter! 

Great sketch and I had fun pulling out all my Bella Blvd stash! I was inspired by the mood board in so many ways: First, it had my love of GOLD, then I was inspired by the polka dots, the rainbow colors with lots of focus on fuchsia and the feeling that the layout should be about something that made me very, very happy!"
