Hi all...Joni here! Sharing way too much about myself today, probably!!
I LOVE grids...they add so much balance to a page and since I'm such a linear and "logical" person, grids really suit me. I also like all the different variations you can do with a grid... stitiching, paper, lots of decorations or hardly any at all...(and Grids don't have to be "square"...think retangular) -- I figured (with the help of my dh) that I do some type of grid on a layout about 10% of the time..which is 1 in 10 layouts and I do about 10 per week...so I use some type of grid about once a week...!!!
So for this layout, I chose to cover almost my entire layout with the grid... Punching paper (mostly square but with a few circles thrown in to add a little interest).... I stitched along the outer edge and added some embellishements to some of the squares. I added my photos (i had planned where they would go) and added my title... --- I left the space above my title alone. And I'm so proud of my 7 year old son.....when I showed him the layout, I asked him if he thought I should "fill in" the big space or leave it empty... He said to leave it empty and when I asked him why...he responded "Because it gives your eye a place to rest.".. Righto buddy!!!
I'd love it if you double click on my layout to enlarge it and see the details that I added...
Now it's your turn to take the September Grid Challenge. See all the details HERE!
