Guest Design Team Members Alanna and Marie have agreed to stay on as Design Team Members.

Welcome ladies!

Meet November Guest Design Team Member Debra P,

I live in Arizona with my husband of 33 years, our son and his four children. I have been scrapbooking since 2000 and I consider it a form of therapy. I guess you could say my style is on the clean and simple side. I'm trying to master the art of layering and embellishment clustering slowly but surely. I love photography, so I always have lots of photos on hand to work with. I love online challenge sites because there is so much inspiration and it helps me use up my ever growing scrapbook supply stash. I am honored and excited to be one of the November Guest Designers here at Scrap Our Stash.

Meet Guest Design Team Member La Vikinga

Hi!
I'm Charlotta (La Vikinga is my alias on the web) and I'm so happy to be a guest designer for Scrap our Stash in November! I'm Swedish and have settled down in Stockholm and married after having been travelling and lived a few years abroad. No kids, no house and no dog, so I sometimes have plenty of time to scrap. I do mostly layouts but I have been practicing cardmaking too since I have been honoured with some more guest designing which you can see here on my blog:
http://lavikingascrapp.blogspot.com/

My style is colorful and bright, like the LO you can see next to this text. I hope to see more of you readers and team members in November!

Hello!

Attached is my layout, "The Best Day" for submission in your October Quote Challenge. I used the quote "I had the best day with you" (a line for a Taylor Swift song) as the title of my LO of pics of my daughter and I at the Taylor Swift concert.

Great challenge this month. I hope I have actually used a real quote for this challenge!! I have done a layout of my daughter, Emma, enjoying “All the Fun of the Fair!” We were on a rope swing at a visiting fair in town. I am pulling my end one handed and taking photos with the other as I just had to capture Emma’s face just laughing out loud! I have used Echo Park papers and made some bunting with a little tag punch, rub on letters and Making Memories puffy letter stickers.

Thanks for looking!!

October Quote Challenge by Ange

Design Team Member Ange submitted this layout for the October Quote Challenge. She said:

Rats, Bats and Dog Poop! That is what my dad always teaches his little grand kids to say. Just the other day my oldest, who is now 13, told me that she can't help but think "Dog Poop" after hearing "Rats, Bats &". Which, I'm sure, is the desired effect my father was after. What a funny man.

I don't generally use quotes in my scrapping, but I'm not against it. It is a tad time consuming to find one that has meaning to me tho. Which is why I chose to quote my father and tell this story. But it worked out that this old kit I had in my stash had a fitting quote sticker for the lo too. I used it in the bottom right corner; "We do not quit playing because we grow old. We grow old because we quit playing." -Oliver Wendell Holmes

Hope you can join in the fun and make your own project using a favorite quote.

October Quote Challenge by Julie

Reader Julie submitted this layout for the October Quote Challenge. She said:

Here's a page I made recently about a quote. In this case, it's not a quote by a famous person, but something my son said at my sister's wedding that has become one of those family stories we all love to remember. As a 3-year old ringbearer, he didn't quite understand that the ring on the pillow he was holding wasn't his to keep, hence the line, "why did that man take my ring?"

October Quotes Challenge by Ren-Yi

This month at our Scrap Our Stash's October Challenge we are creating something with our favorite Quote. This quote is from one of my beloved and first Waltzingmouse Stamp sets called "Afternoon Tea Sentiments." Women Are Like Teabags...
Here's a closer look at the sentiment. The quote is framed with a scored frame and a cute little brad as an accent. In addition the vintage cream card stock has been distressed with my favorite ink Antique Linen. Women Are Like Teabags...
This is my first time using acrylic paints. I picked some up when I was last in New York City at an Utrecht. I did not like how stark the white is, so I dabbed some Antique Linen onto the dried paint to bring down the white. But I do like this look quite a lot and will be repeating this technique... Women Are Like Teabags...
Check out the Scrap Our Stash's October Challenge. You have until the end of the month to finish up something with your favorite quote, so don't forget to enter!

I couldn't resist scrapping this adorable picture of my cousin's little boy. The hardest part was picking just the right "boy" quote. I ran across these fun little frog stickers and the quote "jumped" out at me. :)

I started off with just one page. I ended up with two! The page on the left is a  pagerization for the Pagerize this Challenge #15. Tamara's page was easy to work with and I was inspired enough to stretch over to a second page.

Prima Jewels
MM chipboard alphas
Echo Park mini alphas
Paperframe designs acrylic snowflake
unknown twine
sei inke blue ink
Glimmer mist in elctric blue and black magic

October Quote challenge by Haley

Design Team Member Haley submitted this card for the October Quote Challenge. She said:

This verse, Philippians 4:13, really speaks to me! I was very excited to find this Verve stamp. Recently, I needed to send some thank you cards to members of my church, so I paired this verse with a thank you stamp from Close To My Heart and the retired Animal Cookies paper pack (also from CTMH). I thought the color scheme worked well for men and women, and I kept the card simple because I needed a dozen of them. The recipients really seemed to appreciate them, and I certainly enjoyed making and sharing them.

Hi!

I'd like to submit my page for the October Quote Challenge. This is a page showing a picture of my son and his girlfriend taken after a recent music recital they performed together. I've had this music patterned paper, as well as the punch out letters I used for the title, in my stash forever! Whew, I was glad to finally use some of them up! The music notes were made with a Cuttlebug die cut. I knewwith having a musician in the family, I'd always find a use for them! The quote, which was also a punch out that's been waiting in my supplies for ages, says "Love is but the discovery of ourselves in others, and the delight in the recognition." (Alexander Smith).

Thank you, Scrap Our Stash, for encouraging me to look through my quotes supplies, as I usually forget to check them to see if I have anything appropriate for my page. Without your challenge, I probably would not have used the quote on this page, and I think it was the perfect touch!

I've been lurking at your challenge site for a while now, following along but not submitting anything. I finally got the courage to send you a page! Ha ha! But, I've been enjoying the challenges and seeing everyone's pages. THANK YOU FOR ENCOURAGING US TO USE OUR STASH! I know I seriouslyappreciate it! :)

Time for another wedding page...
Planning to do a few pages using quotes from the songs we used in our wedding; yet again Scrap Our Stash comes through with a perfect challenge.
The words are from 'I Do' by Paul Brandt, the song was playing while we signed the registry.
Pattern Paper and Lace Cut Cardstock are Little Yellow Bicycle 'Lucky Me'. As is the white strip behind the Lace Cut Cardstock: It's the backing from the LCC package. It's patterned in very light green shamrocks... such a waste to toss and it was already co-ordinated!
Bling Letters and Rings are My Big Ideas and the rest of the Bling-age is Recollections.

As soon as I found out what the October challenge was, I knew exactly what photos and quote I would use. I took these pictures of my son and his grandpa a few years ago when we were visiting his grandparents in St. Louis, MO. Shortly after I took the pictures I found the poem "Walking with Grandpa" by Rodney O. Hura and knew it was perfect for these pictures. Then life got in the way and I forgot to scrap them. That is, until now!

Products used were: Bazzill cardstock, Fancy Pants Father and Son patterned paper and cardstock stickers, American Crafts Thickers, Cosmo Cricket tiny letters, and Allison Davis sketch for inspiration.

Now let's see what you come up with! Now it's your turn to take the October Quote Challenge. See all the details HERE!

Attached is the 12x12 layout I did using one of my favorite Quotes.
I used all my left over stash from another project. My daughter and her friends are spending one of the last nights out together before they all go off on their own journys. This is a part of her history that will be a memory to cherish in the future and a gift of friendship in the present.

I seem to use quotes in many of my projects, so this was right up my alley.  I love the idea of a quote challenge. I used mainly Close To My Heart supplies and the New CTMH Cricut Art Philosophy.

Thank for the opportunity to share my project.

Here is my take on the October Quote Challenge. This quote has always been a favorite of mine. It's from C.S. Lewis: "If we find ourselves with a desire that nothing in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that we were made for another world." I kept this one pretty simple. The photo I took through the window of my bus on the way home from work one night. Then I added some photo effects to it using Picnik. This layout also uses a lot of twine. It was my first time really using it and it was a lot of fun!

Thanks!

I used a black frame, put my photo on brown cardstock and then attached the photo to the frame, covering up the center hole in the frame.  I have had these leaves forever!!!! (The photo too - my daughter is now 22!!!) I typed my quote in a die cut shape and my fall project was done.

Hey Everyone,
Mary Pat here with my take on the October Quote challenge.  I have to say that this challenge was really fun for me because I realized that in over 10 years of my scrapping, I have never used a quote.  I have quoted my children, family or friends, but never someone that I didn't know.  For this challenge I went online to find a fun quote for the beach because I wanted to scrap our summer vacation and I found the perfect one.  It says "Life is good at the beach" by Authour Unknown.  This was perfect for my layout.  I placed the quote on the splash flourish.

Here is my layout for this month. I used a quote from a Die Cuts with a View Quote Stack. I cut it into strips to add more detail. Because it was vellum, I used brads to attach it to my background. It is so easy to add quotes to your layouts and there are so many different ways to do it. You can mat them like journaling, cut into strips, hand-write around a photo, add to a tag...the possibilities are endless.

October Quote Challenge by Elizabeth

Reader Elizabeth submitted this layout for the October Quote challenge. She said:

Hello,

I’ve been following Scrap Our Stash for a while now but this is the first time I’ve entered into the challenge.

I collect quotes from all sorts of sources and note them down in notebooks so this challenge was right up my street. I’ve chosen to make a card round a favourite quotation that reminds me of happier times when I was a child in the fifties – Life’s A Picnic from the poem of the same name by Tobi Payton.

All materials used are from my stash – I’ve used snippets, scraps and leftovers and even the paper was a freebie with a magazine bought so long ago it was stashed away forgotten and unloved, until now.

If you would like know more about the materials and method used, and to read the poem too, the link is as follows: http://silverscrappers.blogspot.com/2011/10/lifes-picnic-paper-piecing-project.html

I hope you like my card and the story behind why l like this quote so much.

Kind regards
Elizabeth Worthington
