May "May I?" Challenge by Wendy K.

Design Team Member Wendy submitted these layouts for the May "MAY I?" Challenge.  She said:
I chose this beautiful layout by Sherri Tozzi:

Here is my layout:

I have been struggling with these photos because she is wearing a hot pink shirt and the background is rusty red colored bricks.  Nothing seemed to work.  This was the perfect solution.  I fell in love with this layout and chose neutral colored papers which compliment my photos instead of clashing with them.

Now it's your turn to take the May MAY I Challenge. For the MAY I Challenge you are to complete your project by getting inspiration from someone elses blog. Then leave a comment at the blog stating that you are using their blog as inspiration for the Scrap Our Stash May I Challenge. Then submit a picure and brief description of your project along with the a link to the inspiration blog to scrappinpsycho@live.com.

All submissions will be posted to The Scrap Our Stash blog and on May 31st a winner will be chosen, and given the opportunity to be a Guest Design Team Member for the month of June. This challenge ends at midnight central time on May 31st.

March GREEN Challenge by Wendy K.

Design Team Member Wendy K. submitted this project for the March GREEN Challenge.  She said:

I really don't like to scrap with the color green so I interpreted this green as in recycling.  I altered a Laughing Cow cheese container (anyone on Weight Watchers will recognize this!)  Here's what it looks like before:

And this is what it looks like after:

I painted it first with Making Memories paint inside and out.
Then I just covered with papers and embellished.  The flowers were made with the Close to My Heart Art Philosophy cartridge which I am so in love with and has made my Cricut pay for itself.  I didn't use Mod Podge to cover it because it is thin cardboard and I am afraid that it may warp.  It did a little when I painted in (around the inside rim) but not bad.  My daughter wanted this container for her scrapbook desk but it could also be used for jewelry or a set of circle cards or many other things.  Full details on My Scrapbooking Blog.

Now it's your turn to take the March GREEN Challenge. The March Challenge is anything to do with GREEN. It could be a project using the color Green, or about being "green" - or you could use the word Green in your title. The possibilities are endless. Anything goes! So think GREEN and take the challenge. To participate in the March GREEN Challenge - just email a picture of your project along with a description to Scrappinpsycho@live.com

All submissions will be posted to The Scrap Our Stash blog and on March 31st a winner will be chosen, and given the opportunity to be a Guest Design Team Member for the month of May. This challenge ends at midnight central time on March 31st.

February LEAP Challenge by Wendy K.

I have so many projects that are sitting around waiting for me to find the time to do them.  This challenge motivated me to LEAP into one of those and get it done!  I bought these letters who knows how long ago for my craft room.  I know it was over 1 1/2 years because they came with the move.  They were lots of fun to make once I got started.  All the extras are cut with the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge exclusively by Close to My Heart.  This is my absolute favorite cart!  I started the project at a friend's house and when I told her how I was going to embellish them she suggested the Cricut-cut flowers and I knew that's what I wanted to do.  I find they are too thick for my scrapbook pages but they are sooooo pretty!  And perfect for this project!  For full details, visit My Scrapbooking Blog.

Now it's your turn to take the January NEW Challenge. January NEW Challenge by Wendy K.

Design Team Member Wendy K. submitted this layout for the January New Challenge.  She said:

I have decided (with the exception of CTMH stuff because I'm a consultant) that any new scrapbooking stuff I buy is going into a cubby at my desk and I'm going to really focus on using it right away so it doesn't get lost in my stash.  I really don't buy too much new stuff anymore and I am going to try with extra effort this year to use up the stash that I already have.  I did have a shopping trip lately and this Doodlebug  paper pack and stickers popped out at me and was the bulk of my purchase.  I was also able to add some things from my stash to the layout as a bonus.  The pictures are from my daughter's first Valentine's Day last year.  I used a sketch from Scrapboook Generations Sketches for Scrapbooking Volume 8.  All details are on My Scrapbooking Blog.

December Anything Goes Challenge by Wendy K.

Design Team Member Wendy submitted this layout for the December Anything Goes Challenge.  She said:

So when I found out that the December Challenge was to do anything I had all these ideas come to mind, projects that I have wanted to do and haven't gotten around to, all these plans...  Then reality set in and I realized that an anything goes challenge was perfect for this time of year because it is a time when we should just be happy that we get anything done! :-)

So for this month, I completed this layout, one more down!

I just love these pictures of my youngest sucking her thumb.  She was the only one and was even doing it at the ultrasound so she was a pro.

November Recipe Challenge by Wendy K.

Design Team Member Wendy K. submitted this layout for the November Recipe Challenge.  She said:

I really don't care to cook at all even though my daughters are wanting to do it more. That made it a true challenge this month to use a recipe until I came across these photos. We love pickles at our house and these counter pickles are a favorite that we make every fall. This layout records our family tradition along with the recipe.
Now it's your turn to take the November RECIPE Challenge.  Your project will be posted here at Scrap Our Stash and you could be chosen as a Guest Design Team Member for January.  See all the details HERE!

October Quote Challenge by Wendy K.

Design Team Member Wendy submitted this layout for the October Quote Challenge. She said:

Here is my layout for this month. I used a quote from a Die Cuts with a View Quote Stack. I cut it into strips to add more detail. Because it was vellum, I used brads to attach it to my background. It is so easy to add quotes to your layouts and there are so many different ways to do it. You can mat them like journaling, cut into strips, hand-write around a photo, add to a tag...the possibilities are endless.

September Grid Challenge by Wendy K.

Design Team Member Wendy submitted this layout for the September Grid Challenge.  She said:  I thought this was going to be a tough challenge for me but it turned out to be fun and resulted in a layout that is different from what I normally do. If I could turn back time, I would ink my woven strips. I've been wanting to use these cute little stamps and they were perfect for this challenge!

Pagerize Julie by Wendy K.

I started with Julie's layout in general and went from there. I ended up with the three pictures on the bottom and liked that but I struggled as I worked on the top of the page. I did start with a princess theme with the paper pack I chose and had a crown that I kept playing with but it didn't make the final cut. I finally came up with the glitter stars and LOVE how they turned out! You may also notice I also added small glitter dots to the background paper.

One thing I did with this layout was combined new product with my old stash to create something I like. I remember when this paper first came out, I thought it was so cute. Today I had a hard time making it into something I liked with the matching stickers. By adding the border (new product) and glitter I was able to create a page that I was happy with and still use up some of my old stash.

You can view all the details on My Scrapbooking Blog.

August Re-Do Challenge by Wendy C.

Design Team Member Wendy C. submitted these layouts for the August Re-Do Challenge.  She said:

finally!! When I first started scrapping 13 years ago, I started with my wedding pictures. I have always wanted to re-do the entire album, now that there are embellishments to add to the pages.  My original page was soooo simple. We were engaged in Disney World, so we tried to add Disney into the wedding as much as we could. The picture of Mickey and Minnie was pulled right from a coloring book. I thought it was so simple and adorable as heck! So here is my re-do. Just a few more embellishments...lol. I can't wait to re-do more wedding pictures!! Details can be found on my blog. :)

August Re-do Challenge by Wendy K.

Design Team Member Wendy K. submitted this project for the August Re-Do Challenge.  She said:

When I found out the theme for this month I thought I was in trouble. I am not one to go back and re-do any of my layouts. I'm just glad they got done in the first place! I decided to "do" a 10-Year album like the one I had made for my first child for my second 10-year-old. Let me tell you it was much easier the second time around! Here is the outcome:

You can see the entire album with details and my first album on My Scrapbooking Blog.

Pagerize Tammy by Wendy K.

Design Team Member Wendy K submitted this layout for the Pagerize This Challenge # 12.  She said:

Out of all the things I have to do today, I chose to scrapbook and this challenge seemed the perfect fit to finish some papers from a paper pack. I turned Tammy's layout before Pagerizing. I changed out the circle photo for journaling. After finding the journaling stamp I realized there was a ticket with that same set so I added that too! I kept the "pieces" title and I also copied her border (using a punch for the first time!). Full details on My Scrapbooking Blog.

July Challenge by Wendy K.

Happy July! It's a great time to celebrate in red, white, and blue for this month's Challenge. However that doesn't mean you have to scrap 4th of July or Americana pictures. I made this layout with Close to My Heart's Fanfare paper. It was super quick and easy and the colors are great for just about anything! It didn't take me long to use up this entire paper packet. Check out My Scrapbooking Blog to see my other layouts and cards. The picture is my dad and brother (hence the "Wise Guys x2" title!).

June Something Challenge by Wendy K.

Design Team Member Wendy K submitted this layout for the June Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed Something Blue Challenge.  She said:

I knew exactly what I wanted to do for this challenge, or at least the pictures I planned to use. The BLUE dress is OLD and BORROWED for my beautiful NEW baby. Let me tell you, I just love it when things work out like I envision them! I wanted a soft, elegant feel to my layout with these photos. I found the perfect paper to match her dress (made me dig through my stash!) and everything else just fell into place after that. I used some NEW paper (an unopened pack anyway!) and combined that with some OLD embellishments in my stash. You can see all the details on My Scrapbooking Blog.

Meet Guest Design Team Member Wendy Crowe

My name is Wendy Crowe and I have been a happy scrapper for almost 13 years now. My main subjects are my 3 great kids and my understanding and patient hubby of 14 years. I am a full time administrative assistant and scrapping is my daily escape. To me, everything in life is one big photo op, as long as we are having fun. I love reliving all those great moments with my family when I am working on new pages. I try to keep my style clean and simple, but I love trying new ideas and techniques. I'll try anything once...or twice. I find inspiration everywhere and I am so glad to have lots of friends who are willing to share my passion for this hobby.
Thanks again for the great opportunity to share my hobby with you!

April Bring in the Sun Challenge by Wendy

Design Team Member Wendy submitted this layout for the April Bring in the Sun Challenge.  She said:

I don't know why this was so hard for me but I am very happy with the outcome. First, I was stumped for what I was going to do. I looked through my stash and didn't have "sun" anything. Then I found swim pictures and thought I would focus on the color yellow (one that doesn't make it into many of my layouts). Then, I added my own little mini challenge to not use pink. :-) In the end, I love the layout. I think because it is so different and that will make a nice addition to my books. I used a Sketch Inspiration Sketch. See a supply list on My Scrapbooking Blog.

Dust it Off Challenge by Wendy

Design Team Member Wendy submitted this layout for the March Dust it Off Challenge.  She said:

I pulled out all the stops with this layout. Everything I used is old, old, old and I literally had to dust off my border punch! I used a sketch from My Little Sketch Book which made a perfect layout out of these boring pictures. For more details, visit My Scrapbooking Blog.

February Challenge by Wendy

Be sure to scroll down the page - Scrap Our Stash posts something new everyday.

Here is my February Challenge layout. I used the word Love as my title for this layout of Stephanie with her new baby sister. I really dug into my stash for this layout. I think the patterned paper may have been from the Target Dollar Spot at least a year ago, the scalloped baseboards are from when a local scrapbook store closed years ago, and the eyelets and brads are even older. The rick rack is from a bag I found at a rummage sale!

I am not one for empty space on a layout or just plain cardstock so I filled the white cardstock space with heart-shaped eyelets to create my own patterned paper. I painted the chipboard border with a pink base topped with a coat of specialty glaze.

Now, let's see your Love-themed layout or card!  See all the details on how you can take the challenge HERE!
