"Forever" Layout DT Marie Rodier

Happy Friday everyone!
Today's featured layout is the awesome work of talented SOS Designer Marie
inspired by the
November Book Inspired Stash Challenge
Marie:
"Since the background color of the book cover was so inspiring, I decided to use a navy background for my layout. The red reminded me of Christmas and for the occasion I chose a picture of my little ones during our tree decoration session last year. I went with a soft palette using light teal and violet. Did I tell you that I looove violet???!!! I really like how this clean and simple layout turned out."

"What's Your Sign" Layout by DT Michelle Henderson

Good morning!!!
Today we are sharing a beautiful layout created by SOS Designer Michelle,
inspired by the
November Book Inspired Stash Challenge
Michelle:
"Hi scrappy peeps!
I really need to take on board the message "less is more" but I just can't stop adding things - if you count the big star I made as part of the background, there are about 26 stars on this layout :) .
I've been meaning to do a layout about star signs for both my girls since they were little but never quite got there, so this was the perfect time...and how do you like my photo?!? Just as well looks can't kill! It was all just staged really - promise :)
If you want to read a bit more, visit my blog on www.artscrapz.blogspot.com.

"Oh My Stars" Layout By DT Zsoka Marko

Hello friends of SOS!
Today we are showcasing an incredible layout created by DT Zsoka
inspired by our
Zsoka:
"Hi there scrappy friends, Zsoka here with you today with my layout for the book inspired stash challenge! When I saw the book I knew right away which paper I want to use...this beautiful blue space/planet print paper from October Afternoon! But I have to say after that I was stuck. I didn't want to use just part of it, I wanted it to be my background. But nothing seemed to work with it, it was just too busy. I didn't want to use white gesso either to tone it down because the planets are beige. Eventually I chose a beige paper from Basic Grey for my cut file and backed it with different patterned papers which I also struggled with because of the beige color. Of course the beige cut file didn't stand out from the background either so I drew the outlines of the stars with a black marker. I used a cut file for my title as well because I wanted a big title. I used pop dots to raise my title and give my layout some dimension. I kept the embellishing to a minimum and only added a few cork stars. Added my photo, date and journaling and done! In the end it is a simple layout but I still like how it turned out!
Hope you find some inspiration in it! Thanks for stopping by today"

"Tomorrowland" Layout by DT Sherri Caramico

Today we are showcasing  an awesome layout SOS Designer Sherri created
inspired by the
Sherri:
"I decided to go with the "Outer Space" theme of the book cover, and I was also inspired by the Yellow and Blue colors, along with the round planet. I immediately thought of the EK Success Rilley Wiley paper that I have had FOREVER - I've probably had this paper since around 2006.... really!! Anyway, I thought it would make a perfect base page, and I'm happy with how it came out!

These photos are from our 2nd trip to Disneyland, this past May. I thought the "Tomorowland" photos worked well with the whole "Outer Space" theme of the challenge.

I used 3+ Stars for the added challenge - Star Washi Tape, a Star photo frame, a couple of chipboard Stars, and a Star paper clip too!

I hope you will play along with us this month, and I can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with - I am sure it will be “Out of this World!”

"Out Of This World Love", Layout by DT Cassie Wiscarson

WooHoo!   It's Friday!!!
Today we are sharing an amazing layout created by talented Designer Cassie,
inspired by the

Cassie:
"I really enjoyed this book cover challenge. I decided to use the color blue from the book cover along with the space theme. Once I decided to go with a mainly blue page I went looking through my printed photos to figure out what to use. I found these two photos that have my daughter with two family members and there was a lot of blue in the photos and I knew they would be perfect! I dug into my stash to find several shades of blue that would work well together. I started with the cloud paper and went from there. I am really happy with the blue and white color scheme of the page. I ended up using 6 stars on my page and they really go with the space theme. I can’t wait to see how you interpret this book cover challenge!"

Today's featured layout is the awesome creative work of SOS Designer Natsuko
inspired by the
November Book Inspired Stash Challenge
Natsuko:
"I was inspired by the colors and of course the theme, Space!! I used the dark blue color but wanted it to be shiny, so I used a lot of glitter, rhinestones and sequins to make it sparkle. I used 3 pictures of my daughter when she was small. She was mimicking Kung fu on TV, and both the colors of her clothes and the atmosphere was perfect for this layout. I used a lot of stars which is also required in this challenge. More details in http://natsukoslittlecraftroom.blogspot.jp/"

Vija Anton
"Hi! I'm Vija Anton and I live in Melbourne, Australia. I have been scrapbooking on and off for about ten years but only started my blog, http://scrappingwithmygolden.blogspot.com.au/
and joining in with some online challenges, a few months ago. I was thrilled and honored to be asked to be a guest designer for SOS for November.

I love travelling with my family and I love my dog so they are my two main subjects I like to scrap. We live very close to the beach and I especially love doing beach layouts.

I don’t have a particular style and I admire all different types of scrapbooking. Scrap Our Stash is a perfect site for me as I don’t keep up with manufacturers new releases and mainly just do a couple of bigger online purchases during the year. I never throw anything out so I always have ‘a stash’."

Take a look at the amazing layout Vija created inspired by this month's book cover:
"Off We Go"
Vija shared this with us about her layout:
"When I saw this challenge I immediately thought of this fun photo from our trip to Universal Studios earlier this year that I had on my 'must scrap' list. I was inspired by the book cover to try something new for me...a space theme!!! My space scene was created with mists, paint, glitter and a stencil on navy cardstock and I think I have had that starry patterned paper in my stash from when I started scrapbooking 10 years ago!! I'm looking forward to see how other scrappers will be inspired by this book cover."

Inspired by Vija's amazing layout and/or the challenge?
We would love to see how this month's book cover inspires you.

Thank you for visiting us today and make sure you return tomorrow to see

"Fun Winter" LO by DT Aurelie

Hello Friends!

Todays inspiration is this lovely layout by Designer Aurelie:
Aurelie said this about her layout:
"I know I've said it before, but I really do love how SOS is making me use some of the scrappy stash I've been holding onto for years. Recognize these patterned papers? Most of them are from one of Heidi Swapp's very first collections - No Limits, c. 2012. There are also pieces from BoBunny's more recent Pop Quiz collection as well as one of We R Memory Keepers's Shine collection. I also added a few extra pieces from Heidi Swapp's No Limit collection (the banner pieces and a journalling card), some Stampin' Up cardstock and transparency pieces, a Pink Paislee tab, some Magic Mesh, Basic Grey and October Afternoon alphas, a few splats of Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze, hand-stitching using two snowflake stitching templates - one from Bazzill Basics and the other, from American Crafts - along with some DMC floss, buttons I've had on hand since forever, and Fancy Pants chipboard alphas I covered with BoBunny patterned paper. Those chipboard alphas, my goodness, I've had for almost ten years, now. I used to use them as stencils - tracing letters onto the back of patterned papers and fussy-cutting them out so that I could keep the chipboard for other projects. Well. My alpha collection has grown exponentially since then. I still traced the letters onto the back of patterned papers, but I glued the papers onto the chipboard pieces and off they went onto my layout.
As for my items on the three lists? Yes, that's right! I was inspired by the three showcased colors and used them as accents on my layout. Love how this one turned out! Photos taken in 2004 by my sister, Ginette."

You only have a couple of days left to upload your layout!
See you back here tomorrow with more inspiration!

"Hello Life" LO by DT Marie

Hello and Happy Tuesday!

Today's inspiration is from our Designer Marie.
Take a look at her wonderful layout:
Here's what Marie said about her layout,
"Usually I tend to freely interprets sketches. But for once, I tried to stay close to this one, and I didn't use any medium on my layout! I like to do it once in a while as I'm still a big fan of traditional scrapbooking. I love using patterned papers to create an harmonious layout.
From the Pick Lists, I chose Desert (Kraft and desert are pretty similar, right?)
I also picked the envelop, one as a badge (this one was too easy!), but I also created one that is tucked behind my pictures.

Finally, I went with flowers, since they are my favorite embellishments."

"Explore Life" LO by DT Zsoka

Happy Friday!
Let's get this weekend started with this fabulous layout by Designer Zsoka:
"Hello there scrappy friends, Zsoka here with you today with a new layout for the sketch and stash challenge!

Sometimes when I have a sketch, I choose a collection to work with that I haven't yet used or haven't used in ages. This time I was determined to use some of the remainders of my Hip Kits from July (at least I think it was July). Honestly, this is why I love my monthly SOS assignments because I can use my stash and often I really have to go through it to find something from the lists above!

Originally I was going to follow the sketch quite closely, but then I realized my papers are just waaaay too busy to add so many layers. So I skipped the top layers. Also, I noticed that my child is looking in the wrong direction in the photo haha! When I had the photo on the right like in the sketch, he was looking off the page and it just looked weird. However I really wanted to use this photo...so I flipped over the sketch and what should be on the right is now on the left side.
As my papers were pretty colourful, I added a black mat under one of them, black stitching to another and a black outline to the third to break up all the patterns. My chipboard title didn't stand out so I painted the bottom part with water colors and outlined it with a black pen.
From the lists I chose: a Doodlebug clip, Elle's Studio wood veneer and flowers (floral paper).
I hope you'll play along with us this month too! Happy creating and thanks for stopping by X"
