"Jolly" LO by DT Zsoka

Happy Hump Day! :)

For today's inspiration, we have this fabulous layout by Designer Zsoka:
This is what Zsoka said about her layout:
"Hey there scrappy friends, Zsoka back with you today with my last layout for Scrap Our Stash :(. It's bittersweet having to say goodbye because I really loved it here! Rochelle and Brenda have been really sweet and the team has been absolutely drama free! But I have a lot on my plate now so I have to free up some time. Maybe one day I'll be back, who knows?! Thank you Rochelle and Brenda for picking me a year ago! Keep up the great job! I wish you all the best, don't be a stranger!

About my layout for this month's sketch challenge...I thought it would be good to do a Christmas layout for today! From the lists I chose:
1. red
2. glitter
3. tag(s) and gold
I followed the sketch pretty closely. I used different sized photos and left out a couple of tiny things but otherwise it's the same. For the circular element I chose to do a hand stitched circle. My papers and embellies are from this and last year's Pinkfresh Studio Xmas collections, Oh Joy and Christmas Wishes, together with a tag from Fancy Pants Wish Season, two acetate tags from Crate Paper Journey. The little deer is a cut file from The Cut Shoppe that I actually cut last year but never used, so I thought it would be good for my glitter element! Enamel dots are from last year's MME Xmas collection. I love how all these collections fit so nicely!

I wish you all a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones and a happy and healthy New Year!
See you around, Zsoka

"Yes Please" Layout by DT Zsoka Marlo

Today's fabulous feature is the creative work of talented SOS Designer Zsoka
inspired by the
Zsoka:
"Hey there scrappy friends, Zsoka with you today with my layout for the book cover inspired challenge. I guess you can't really tell it was inspired by the book cover because it is not exactly a Xmas layout :D. The additional requirement was that we use striped paper and enamel dots or sequins. I focused on these more. I had Amy Tan's Oh Happy Life collection on my desk so I just went with it! This yellow-white striped paper is my most favourite in the whole collection, just so summery and happy! I created this cut file from a single heart and backed it with different patterned papers from the same collection. I added some stickers and enamel dots for embellishments plus I used some AH-MAZING wood veneer sequins I got from my friend, Eri. I tried to find these but they seem to be discontinued :(. I did some machine stitching at the bottom and that is pretty much it!

I hope you like how it turned out! Thanks for stopping by X Zsoka"

"All Smiles" LO by DT Zsoka

Happy Monday!

We are starting off the week with this fabulous layout from our Designer Zsoka:
Zsoka shared this about her layout:
"Hi there scrappy friends, Zsoka here with you today with my layout for the November sketch challenge. I really loved this sketch! Of course if there are circles in a sketch, it's all good in my book :). The Pinkfresh Studio Indigo Hills collection just came out and I just had to use it on every layout I did that time (I think about 15!). So in love with this line, the blue and the mustard...Just gorgeous! I decided to go with white background which I very rarely do, but I had so many different color and patterned papers to use that a patterned background would have been too busy even for me :). For my circles I used one of my favourite cut files from Just Nick Studio. I use this often, it's so cute, isn't it? From the lists I chose:
1. grey
2. gold (the little heart clip on the photo)
3. indigo
The washi tape is from Freckled Fawn and fits this PF collection perfectly!

I hope I could inspire you today in one way or another! Thanks for stopping by!

"Oh My Stars" Layout By DT Zsoka Marko

Hello friends of SOS!
Today we are showcasing an incredible layout created by DT Zsoka
inspired by our
Zsoka:
"Hi there scrappy friends, Zsoka here with you today with my layout for the book inspired stash challenge! When I saw the book I knew right away which paper I want to use...this beautiful blue space/planet print paper from October Afternoon! But I have to say after that I was stuck. I didn't want to use just part of it, I wanted it to be my background. But nothing seemed to work with it, it was just too busy. I didn't want to use white gesso either to tone it down because the planets are beige. Eventually I chose a beige paper from Basic Grey for my cut file and backed it with different patterned papers which I also struggled with because of the beige color. Of course the beige cut file didn't stand out from the background either so I drew the outlines of the stars with a black marker. I used a cut file for my title as well because I wanted a big title. I used pop dots to raise my title and give my layout some dimension. I kept the embellishing to a minimum and only added a few cork stars. Added my photo, date and journaling and done! In the end it is a simple layout but I still like how it turned out!
Hope you find some inspiration in it! Thanks for stopping by today"

"Explore Life" LO by DT Zsoka

Happy Friday!
Let's get this weekend started with this fabulous layout by Designer Zsoka:
"Hello there scrappy friends, Zsoka here with you today with a new layout for the sketch and stash challenge!

Sometimes when I have a sketch, I choose a collection to work with that I haven't yet used or haven't used in ages. This time I was determined to use some of the remainders of my Hip Kits from July (at least I think it was July). Honestly, this is why I love my monthly SOS assignments because I can use my stash and often I really have to go through it to find something from the lists above!

Originally I was going to follow the sketch quite closely, but then I realized my papers are just waaaay too busy to add so many layers. So I skipped the top layers. Also, I noticed that my child is looking in the wrong direction in the photo haha! When I had the photo on the right like in the sketch, he was looking off the page and it just looked weird. However I really wanted to use this photo...so I flipped over the sketch and what should be on the right is now on the left side.
As my papers were pretty colourful, I added a black mat under one of them, black stitching to another and a black outline to the third to break up all the patterns. My chipboard title didn't stand out so I painted the bottom part with water colors and outlined it with a black pen.
From the lists I chose: a Doodlebug clip, Elle's Studio wood veneer and flowers (floral paper).
I hope you'll play along with us this month too! Happy creating and thanks for stopping by X"

"So Dapper" Layout by DT Zsoka Marko

Happy Friday!!!!
Today's fabulous feature is the creative work of talented SOS Designer Zsoka
inspired by the

Zsoka:
"Hey there scrappy friends,
Zsoka here with you today with a layout I created for the book inspired stash challenge! When I saw this book I knew right away what collection I would use. I mean, this screams Fancy Pants Good Fellows right?! I love love love this line! I know, I say this about each Fancy Pants line, but well, it's what it is, I'm just a big fan!
Since I already did quite a few layouts with Good Fellows, I didn't have an awful lot of 12x12 papers left but luckily I still found some that made a good background.
I wanted to recreate the gentleman as my main design element and I remembered I had some cut file that was perfect for this. I cut each piece from different patterned paper, and I finally found a good use for the silver foil paper in this collection! Perfect for the glasses! I outlined each shape with a black marker so they stand out more.
This collection is full of ties and I haven't used them so far. I found the perfect picture of my son that I took many years ago at Christmas and he was wearing a tie. Just for fun I tried if I can hide his tie behind the puffy sticker tie and it was the perfect size for my photo, I loved it! So I left it on the photo :).
I added some layers of patterned papers behind my photo as well as some tags (this is where I used the twine as per challenge rules) and ephemera pieces. Some wood veneer is always good...The Right Now piece is also from Fancy Pants, the camera clip I am not sure, the Cutie piece is from Elle's Studio.
For my title I used the Good Fellows alphas. Unfortunately I don't have a lot left so I had to get creative with my E there! I think it was an ampersand that I then cut up for this!
I hope you like what you see and join us in this challenge! You have till end of the month to link up your projects! Can't wait to see what you come up with!

"Into the Woods" LO by Designer Zsoka

It's Hump Day! Woohoo!!

Here's Designer Zsoka's beautiful layout to get us over the hump!! :)

Zsoka said this about her layout:

"Hey there scrappy friends, Zsoka here with you today with my take on this month's sketch and stash challenge! I followed the sketch pretty closely but replaced the circle with a hot air balloon die cut which is also my item from List Nr. 1. From List Nr. 2. I chose black and used it for my journaling. Then from List Nr. 3. I picked chevron and besides using chevron paper, I also chose a balloon cut file with chevron design. I paired my outdoors photo with the super cool outdoors line, Outfitters, from Pink Paislee. I added some wood veneer pieces from Freckled Fawn and Amy Tangerine, and a flair from A Flair for Buttons to finish off my page.
I hope I was able to inspire you in one way or the other. There's still time for you to participate in our challenge and win a great prize!
Thanks for stopping by today! See you next month!"

"Celebrate Class Party" Layout by DT Zsoka Marko

We are back on the blog today sharing an awesome layout inspired by our
Today's incredible feature was created by talented SOS Designer Zsoka!
Zsoka:
Hi there scrappy friends, Zsoka here with you today with a new layout for the book inspired stash challenge.I was inspired by the ABCs and 123s on the cover as well as the school theme, so I created this cut file from the Open Letter Alpha cut file from The Cut Shoppe. I had the idea to back the cut file with some script paper. For my background I used a Kraft card stock (which I never use but it was lying around on my desk and I thought I'd challenge myself) :). I then used modeling paste and one of my favourite stencils from TCW to add some texture to the background. Afterwards I took some of my spray inks and did the packaging technique over my modeling paste.
For backing my photos I used a lot of layers of scrap pieces of papers I had from Basic Grey Barista and B-Side. I added some embellies, journaling and I called it done.
Hope you like it and will be inspired to join us in this month's challenge!

"Maxim Not Impressed" LO by DT Zsoka Marko

Hello!

Here's a wonderful layout created by our designer Zsoka:
Zsoka shared this about her layout:
"Hi there scrappy friends,

Zsoka here with you today with a new layout based on this month's sketch. It's such a pretty sketch again, don't you think?
At the time I created this layout, I just received this Simple Stories line, Sunshine and Happiness, so I really wanted to use it. With its florals I thought it would be perfect - I just fussy cut out some of these gorgeous flowers for my clusters. I also added some cute Jillibean Soup wood veneer flowers here. I mainly used the SS collection, but I also added a piece of washi tape from Freckled Fawn under my picture, then I used some Heidi Swapp chipboards too. Instead of using all the different patterned papers that are there in the sketch, I replaced some with hand stitching. I already had a lot going on on this layout so I thought this tones it down a little.
When I saw the lists first, the only thing I knew was that I was going to use the letter X ha! My son is called Maxim so this was an easy pick. Though I never actually write his name in the title! To draw attention to my X, I used all lower case letters in his name except for the X.
I hope I could inspire you in one way or the other! You still have a few days to link up your projects!
Have a great day and I'll be back next month with two new layouts XXX

List: Various manufacturers (Simple Stories, Freckled Fawn, Jillie Bean Soup, Heidi Swapp), Washi tape and Letter X."

"Best Ever" Layout by Zsoka

Hello!
Today's fabulous feature is the incredible work of talented SOS  Designer  Zsoka,
inspired by the
Zsoka:
"Hey there friends,
Zsoka here with you today with a layout for the book inspired stash challenge this month!
When I saw the book cover it was kind of obvious I would go with the travel theme. The picture was a no brainer because I had actually had it lying around on my desk for about a year (ha!)...It's one of my favourite photos from our Maldives holiday from many many years ago. I also knew I had several map papers in my stash but I didn't even look for them because I just received my Fancy Pants warehouse box full of awesome goodies and there were several papers from the As You Wish line, including this gorgeous map paper. I mean the pinks in it, right?! Totally matched my bikinis ha! Then I took a cut file from The Cut Shoppe and replicated it in several different sizes and welded them all together. I cut this from another paper from the same FP collection and backed it with white vellum so that the background faded out a little. I raised the whole file with the help of pop dots so it stands out. I cut my photo in a circle shape and placed it over one of the circles. I added all sorts of embellies to my compasses: bradz, wood veneer arrows, cork bow, some sentiments and I also added two cute clips. I love the flamingo!!! For my title I found a big wood veneer piece which I embossed with gold and popped it up.
I hope you like how it turned out! Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great day!"

I can't say enough how much I love these challenges because they really force me to look through what I have and use some of it! I can't wait to see what you all find in your stash and what you create with them!

Introducing Returning Designer, Zsoka Marko

Thank you for joining us today to meet another
incredibly talented team member.
Welcome back
Zsoka Marko
for your second term with Scrap Our Stash!
"I am a Hungarian living in Germany with my Dutch boyfriend and our 7-year-old son.
I've been crafting ever since I remember...I tried every craft under the sun, from glass/porcelain/silk painting, bead weaving, mosaic in all form, to cake/cookie decorating and lots more. I need to craft to keep sane! Scrapbooking is my newly found hobby! I love trying new techniques, experimenting with paint. I enjoy clean as well as messy, mixed media layouts. I love to use cut files on my layouts. I don't always do but it seems the majority of times I come back to them :).
I'm honored to have been chosen as part of the SOS design team and hope I can inspire you in any small way with my layouts!"

Zsoka, it is such a pleasure to have you designing with us for another term and we are looking forward to seeing what you create to inspire us for the next six month!

You gotta love this fabulous layout Zsoka created inspired by the

"Cutie"
Zsoka:
"Hi there scrappy friends, Zsoka here with you today with a new inspiration for the book cover challenge! I was inspired by all the circles on the cover - if you know me you know I love my circles :). I've actually scraplifted myself for this layout! A few months back I did a similar layout with different papers (it was based on an awesome sketch by Ashley Horton) but it was a gift for a friend, so I didn't have a layout like this myself yet. I've used many different patterned papers actually! With embellishing I had no idea what direction I will go when I started working on the layout but since I've used Pinkfresh papers for the circles I just pulled out some Pinkfresh embellies from my stash and I couldn't believe I actually had many circles in an ephemera pack! Perfect! I've also added some puffy sequins for more circles.
I hope I could get your ideas going with this layout!
Thanks for stopping by!"

"Fun at the Beach" LO by DT Zsoka

Hey All!

Today we have a beautiful layout from Designer Zsoka to share with you:
Zsoka says this about her layout:
"Hi there, Zsoka here with you today with a new layout for the sketch and stash challenge! I've followed the sketch closely because I liked it as it was plus it's not a layout I would normally do! I like doing different styles once in a while! From my stash I pulled out some old polka dot paper, searched for a quote that's related to the sea and I used quite a few rub-ons (sun and clouds, What a day, Journal piece, even the mint sequins!).
I hope you'll play along with us, there's still a couple of days to do so!
Thanks for stopping by!"

Zsoka:
"Hey there scrappy friends, Zsoka back with you today with a new inspiration. This time for the book cover challenge! This one had me stumped for a moment (a very long moment that is ha!) because I was so focused on the title and kept thinking about what photos I have that would match this title... Well it took me weeks to realize I could just go back in time with my photos because I do actually have several about my boyfriend's birthday surprises etc from when our son was smaller. I found these cute photos from when we made some wrapping paper for my boyfriend's birthday presents. We just made some easy and quick (maybe not so quick!) hand prints. As you can see in the photos, my son really loved this project :). So did his daddy!
I also added pops of yellow to fit the requirements of this challenge!

I can't wait to see what you guys come up with this month!

Zsoka:
"Hi there, Zsoka here with you today with a book cover inspired layout! Isn't this cover just gorgeous?! I right away was drawn to the big heart! I saw balloons! So I decided to create a big heart shaped balloon, then fussy cut a photo of my son and "hung" him on the rope smile emoticon. I had this background paper from Basic Grey and never knew how to use it...but it was perfect for this LO as it looks like my son is flying over the city. We had to use flowers as well so I decided to create the balloon out of little flowers. I finally used a bit of my enormous stash of tissue papers (left over from my paper pom pom making days ha!).
I hope I got your mind going and you'll join us for this challenge!"
