February Challenge by Sara

Design Team Member Sara completed this card for the February "Love" Challenge.  She said:

I decided to make a simple but cute card. I wanted to use the traditional Valentines Day colors but throw a pop of some not so traditional colors in as well to liven things up! This card was fairly easy to make and I made about half a dozen for some gift baskets that I am in the process of putting together that a few girlfriends ordered to give to their Hubbys or Significant other for Valentines day!

Meet Design Team Member Sara

Hi!
My name is Sara Laurent.  I own and operate a small scrapbooking business called Down Memory Lane creating custom pieces for those who either do not have the time or the creativity but want timeless treasures. I love what I do and it is a big part of my life. I am also a proud military wife to Ssgt. Laurent and being a
supportive figure in the military community is a blessing.

This is a simple layout that I did for my personal book. I gave it a whimsical girly feel because I wanted to capture what I was feeling at the time when the pictures were taken. The photos are of my husband and I on a day trip to a gorgeous old plantation at Eden Gardens state park.

January Challenge - Sara L

Sara's words:
Here is my altered Starbucks Coffee sleeve turned into a gift card holder!

This is a NEW technique that I am trying out. I had a lot of fun playing around with this and also love that it is a green project! I drink copious amounts of coffee and have been collecting the sleeves for weeks now so that I can do a few fun things with them and I have tons of them!


I used all scrap paper and things that I had in my stash! I didn't have to go out and buy anything at all (well except for the coffee and gift card) to make this with and I love how it came out!


What better way to give someone a Starbucks gift card than with a handmade themed gift card holder, all while being green!

The January Challenge is to do a NEW project. This can be a layout, card, or any kind of project having to do with NEW. You may want to use the word new in your title, this could be about a new year's resolution - or could be a new technique or tool you used to complete your project.

New Design Team Member Sara had planned on sharing pictures of her moving boxes - but... her sweet husband  was trying to pack for her and help out  and packed her camera up with all her pics on it!   So she sent this picture that she said, "pretty much sums up my mornings for the past few days before packing."
