Special Spring Cleaning Challenge

Before by Monica

Posted by Picasa

Monica has accepted the challenge and here is what she had to say: "I am a little embarrassed to show off my mess! It's really bad at the moment! But this challenge is what I needed!! For starters I don't really have my supplies in one area. In fact I even have a few things hiding in a closet that I forgot to take a picture of.

When my son was born my office/scrap room also turned into a guest room. I had to move my scrapping table out and into the dining room. So needless to say I am limited on space.

So in my office/ everything room I have my jars of ribbon, well some ribbon. I also have the white shelves with buttons and other misc. small items. Then I have the three drawer rubbermaid with ribbons, which my son constantly pulls out, chipboard letters, paint and stamps.

In my dining room I have the table which started off being there just to scrap on but as you can see it is where I just stack stuff up. I now scrap on the dining room table. I leave my tool bag, journaling tags and baby embellishments on the table.

I store my scrapbooks on the top shelf. The middle shelf has my clear containers with all my letter stickers. The bottom shelf has old books. I think this is where I should start, I could use this shelf for scrapbooking stuff. I am thinking of ways to get all my stuff into one space, not sure if I can do that but I have all month!! I hope I can do it! Thanks Kathy for the start"!

Sometimes all we need to get started on doing something we know we need to do is a challenge. So here is your challenge. Send a Before picture of whatever it is you need to organize - and then an After picture when you complete the challenge. See all the details in Special Spring Cleaning Challenge below.

And while your accepting challenges - how about joining in on the March New/Old Challenge - see details below.

Spring Cleaning Challenge

Before by Laurie

Posted by Picasa
Guest Design Team Member Laurie said, "Everyone's photos of their craft spaces made me realize I need to get in on the fun too. Of course, right after I took these photos I spent the entire day cleaning up my little crafty corner. This is the third time since I've taken over this little spot in the living room that I've needed to just stop and clean it back up. Each time I get a few elements right and that helps that particular part of my desk stay fairly organized. This time I enjoyed that my papers were all organized and within easy reach by color for both patterned and solid. The problem areas were my stamps, ribbons, and putting away my scraps once I was done with a project. My goal for this cleanup is to take away the places that I can just leave project remnants in hopes of keeping a clean desk!

Would you like to share your Before pictures. Just check out Special Spring Cleaning Challenge below.

Spring Cleaning - Before

Before by Roxanne

Posted by Picasa
Reader Roxanne submitted these Before pictures of her scrap room for the Spring Cleaning Challenge. This is what she had to say:

"Here are some photos of my scrap space. This is at its most disastrous! The table was made by my husband especially for a X-mas card workshop that I held at my house, and now it's just a place to stack stuff. Every time I walk into this room, I cringe, so I'm going to see what I can do with it by the end of the month. Wish me luck! "

Now it's your turn... check out all the details below in Spring Cleaning Challenge.

Don't miss the chance to be a Guest Design Team member - submit your New/ Old project soon. See all the details in March Challenge.

Spring Cleaning Challenge

Before by Christy

Reader Christy sent these Before and in process pictures for the Spring Cleaning Challnege. She said she has been working on getting her basement all cleaned up and turning it into her scrap area.

Here is what she said, "It was all cement walls and dirty! I got an old counter top from my parents and knew I was going to use it as my scrap space. Here are pics of what the basement used to look like, what it looks like now, and all my scrap stuff strewed all over the house. Some was in the dining room, some in the spare bedroom, and my cricut with my computer in the office. Hopefully I will be able to get it all down there and pretty the space up. Although, I'm already thinking that I don't have enough stuff! ;)

Now it's your turn. Send your before pictures today! See all the details below in Special Spring Cleaning Challenge.

Special Spring Cleaning Challenge

In Progress - by Christine

Posted by Picasa
Reader Christine sent these pictures of her new scrapping area in process. Here is her description:

"We are fast approaching the end of the project to have a HUGE scrapping area. Well, huge to me is anything more than that kitchen table you see here. My husband has always wanted something along this wall in our basement (where we live all winter) that matched our sort of antique decor. When we built our house we had found an old school they were tearing down. That is where we got the wood flooring you can see here. We also got big doors and a chalk board and such. So, we have "old" stuff in this area of the house. Jim is designing a work center that looks "old". I am really looking forward to getting it all put together.

This is how it looks today though, in anticipation for this week when he assembles it all. More pictures to follow.....hopefully cleaned up and neat!!

Special Spring Cleaning Challenge

BEFORE by Kimmarie

Posted by Picasa
Here are before and after pictures of Design Team Member Kimmarie's scraproom. These pictures are of her room that was in the finished attic. It is now her daughter's bedroom. They decided to give the girls this room because it is much bigger for them to share.

She said, "I did move into a smaller room which was a huge task, as you can see by the mess I had. We threw away 14 bags of garbage and gave a ton of stuff away."

Your mission is to take some BEFORE pictures and then get busy so we can see your AFTER pictures once you complete the Challenge. See all the details below in Special Spring Cleaning Challenge.

Special March Spring Cleaning Challenge

Stephanie's BEFORE
One of our newest Guest Design Team members, Stephanie sent this BEFORE picture and the following description:

After reading the Scrap Our Stash challenge blog, I decided to take part in their spring cleaning challenge. This is a quick post just to show off my DISASTER of a crafty area. Once I took the picture I had to clean it up. I think I'll let you look at this mess for a while before I post the "after" photos.
Room details -
Location: My basement
Flat surfaces: 4 - two computer desks, one table that was formerly a bar, and the empty keboard tray on one of the desks
Shelves - two corner shelves and a printer stand (that is exactly 12 inches wide!)
Drawers - Three stacks but only one is 12x12 friendly. :(

Can't wait to see the AFTER pictures. Now it's your turn to take the challenge. Just take a BEFORE picture and submit it with a brief description to scrappinpsycho@live.com. See all the details in the Spring Cleaning Challenge below.

Special Spring Cleaning Challenge

BEFORE by Wendy

Guest Design Team Member Wendy has submitted the following pictures for the March Special Spring Cleaning Challenge.
This is her description: Right now my scrapbook room is at it's worst. The kids have been doing projects for the Science Fair with friends and their area has become a disaster. The only cleaning I've done in here lately was getting the paint out of the carpet!
I love having my scrapbook room on the main level because I can go in there any time I have a few free minutes but it also means that it has become a catchall area. I need my room to be clean before I can get creative which would explain why I haven't finished many pages the past month!
I love to organize and my room desperately needs a few adjustments and a thorough cleaning so I am all over this challenge! I can't wait to have things neat and back in order and I am looking forward to seeing everyone else's progress!
Now it's your turn. Stop what your doing right now - and go take a picture of your area. See all the details in the Spring Cleaning Challenge below.
