Maria said this about her layout:

"Hi ladies! What a great sketch this month, huh?! This is how I interpreted the design. I kept that same angled look except I straightened my photo so the angled appeared in the background. The stash items I used on ths page:

L- Layering, Letters, Leaves

E- Enamel Dots, Ephemara

A- Ali Edwards, Arrow

N- Negative Space

Merry Christmas! 

On this wonderful Christmas Day, 
Designer Marie inspires us with this stunning layout:

This is what Marie shared about her layout:

"The sketch was scary at first but I gave it a try and finally decided to keep only a few elements from it: the left sidebar, a paper thread circle and papers underneath my picture. I wanted to stay close to the color combo, so I used red and green from the list. I also added stars made with modelling paste applied through a stencil, a flair and a small tag under it.

This is my last layout as a member of this fabulous team and I wanted to thank Brenda and Rochelle for making me part of SOS DT team. I had a real pleasure every month creating layouts with their great challenges. I'll keep looking for them next year.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas with your loved ones and a very happy new year."

December Book Inspired Stash Challenge:

Marie:

"My main inspiration was the color combo. I chose a red striped paper from Bo Bunny Cottage collection from last year, some Double Dots leftover also from Bo Bunny, an Heidi Swapp black piece. To give more contrast, I used lime straws and Creative Embellishments painted in black. Finally, I added black enamel dots on my snowflakes, a few stickers as journaling and a heart flair. I really lOOOOve how this layout turned out."

Marie shared this about her layout:

"I used the color combo from the list, these three colors together are such a great combination! Really love them! I used a paper from Ella & Viv for my background. Their papers are amazing, they are sturdy enough for any mixed media composition and the colors are bold and vivid. At first I was a bit scared by the sketch. Then, I went in my stash and tried to find elements and embellishments that would fit into it. And one by one, they fell into place, without me noticing that the sketch was really taking shape right under my eyes. Happy scrapping times!"

"Since the background color of the book cover was so inspiring, I decided to use a navy background for my layout. The red reminded me of Christmas and for the occasion I chose a picture of my little ones during our tree decoration session last year. I went with a soft palette using light teal and violet. Did I tell you that I looove violet???!!! I really like how this clean and simple layout turned out."

"I was inspired by the color scheme - cream, rust, deep turquoise - what a great combo for a fall layout! I used Prima natural cord, this month's twist, to circle my picture and emphasize it. My background is made of masking tape, modelling paste and sprays."

"What a beautiful shade of yellow, a color I should use more often. This month book cover was real fun to play with. The colors are so vibrant. I torn a few pages from an old dictionary and created straws that I tucked under my picture. Happy back to school!"

August Book Inspired Stash Challenge:

Marie:

"When I first saw this book cover, I immediately knew what paper I would be using for this layout... It was going to be THE perfect background for this occasion! And then, when time came to create... there was no such paper in my stash... Either I've lost it or I've already used it for a previous project. LOL! Well... Since map papers aren't quite common (in my stash, at least), I would have to figure something else, but what? I dag, and dag my stash and finally found a Prima map stamp that had never been used. The moment had come!!! I randomly stamped it over my white gesso and that was it, I had used map on my layout. Sometimes, we have to think outside of the box!"

"From the three lists, I've chose Simple Stories, Timberwolf and Ultramarine. I went for a minimal clean and simple layout leaving a lot of white space around my picture. The Simple Stories papers were perfect for this beach picture of my youngest son. I've had this collection for a couple of years and it was pratically unused."

This is what Marie said about her beautiful layout:

"At first, I had a hard time figuring how I would interpret this sketch. After putting it aside, I've decided to use the diagonal background and only one picture as a focal point. I then picked several elements from the lists... polka dots, plum and quartz colors, a quote and rub-ons... a lot of them! I used them to compose my background exactly the same I usually to with stamps."

It's Friday and what a fantastic way to start the weekend!

Today SOS Designer, Marie is sharing the FUNtastic layout she created

inspired by our

March Book Inspired Stash Challenge

Marie:

"The white background and pink color were my starting point. I tried to recreate some sort of banner with my bubbles. I wanted this layout be as sparkling as my son in the photo. As for my gold accent, I've used little stars and gears that I dispersed around my layout, wire thread around my photo and a gold hand-cut title."
