Hello!

Today SOS Designer Rachelle is sharing the lovely layout she created
inspired by the
December Book Inspired Stash Challenge:
Rachelle:
Hi there SOS friends! Rachelle here sharing my design take for this stash challenge. I was inspired by the book cover colors. I love working the lime green. So getting started was easy because I had this awesome background cardstock by Bo Bunny. Next, I applied stamps, edge distressing, and inking. Layers and more layers was a must for this design. Then it was time for the embellishments and journal line. I applied the stripe paper and my fave enamel dots and that's it! I hope you have been inspired today to start on your challenge layout. I can't wait to see your creative work.

:D. The additional requirement was that we use striped paper and enamel dots or sequins. I focused on these more. I had Amy Tan's Oh Happy Life collection on my desk so I just went with it! This yellow-white striped paper is my most favourite in the whole collection, just so summery and happy! I created this cut file from a single heart and backed it with different patterned papers from the same collection. I added some stickers and enamel dots for embellishments plus I used some AH-MAZING wood veneer sequins I got from my friend, Eri. I tried to find these but they seem to be discontinued
:(. I did some machine stitching at the bottom and that is pretty much it!

;) Here you see very, very good friends of ours on their wedding day in 2008. Set on an Echo Park Fall Blessings patterned paper, I layered different-sized squares in a "random" sequence. I then layered the photo on top of Stampin' Up vellum, ripped cardboard box pieces, and a piece of ruled transparency in gold foil. There's also an OA Rocket Age ephemera piece underneath there. I then sprinkled some Studio Calico wood veneer stars (as per the challenge!) along with some Stampin' Up tiny brads, Heidi Swapp mist, and Tattered Angels glaze. There's also a Crate Paper brad and title sticker, October Afternoon alphas, stickers, and button, Stampin' Up cardstock, and of course, my go-to hand-stitching using a Crafter's Workshop stitching template and some DMC floss."
