My entry for the April Spring Fling is a layout of my Mother in Law, Wendy, with her two Granddaughters (my little girl Emma and my niece Kathryn) on her 70th birthday in January. Wendy loves Spring flowers, she is a very keen gardener, but the simple Spring flowers are her favourite and so I added lots of flowers to this layout. I gave this layout to her as an Easter card this year. Hope you are all enjoying the delights of Spring!

Hi everyone, here is my March ‘Green’ page. I had these photos just waiting for this challenge – Emma and the Green Hat! On holiday in Scotland last year, we made a trip to a chocolate factory, where Emma had the chance to make – and taste along the way! – a lovely chocolate and sweetie slab and a chocolate cat. But she loved the green hat the most, in fact we still have it and she still puts in on when we bake at home! The papers are Bo Bunny Peacock Lane and I’ve used the Tim Holtz tattered florals die, idealogy ticket and letter trinkets and some bling!

Happy New Year!! I hope everyone had a lovely holiday?
We have had a few ‘new’ things this past year, but the biggest was definitely my daughter Emma starting school after over 4 years at nursery. She looked such a big girl in her uniform! I have also had a go at a new technique - handstitching each piece of paper onto the layout. I do have a small sewing machine, but never got beyond being able to thread it!! I think I’ll have another go now as I don’t want to hand stitch all those panels of paper again, especially when I started having to go through 3 layers. At the time it never occurred to me to just stitch around the single pieces before I stuck them down! Ah, well, you live and learn, LOL.

Hi everyone,

What a relief to have free rein with the challenge this month and I’m still quite late! I hope everyone’s holiday preparations are going well and you all have a lovely Christmas!
My page this month is of my daughter, Emma (as always!) petting a goat at a city farm this summer. I just think she looks so grown up and so pretty in this photo. The papers are all Graphic 45 ‘Once Upon a Springtime’ and ‘Le Romantique’ collections. I’ve kept it nice and simple this time, with some coordinating ribbons stapled to the page, flowers using Tim’s tattered florals die and some plain white American Crafts Thickers, which I have inked and glittered. A bit of bling as well of course!

November Recipe Challenge by Kathryn

Well this was a fantastic challenge!! I was so stuck at first – only 2 patterned papers!! I usually always use patterned paper as a background as well as for all my embellishing as I’m not that keen on bare space – eek what to do! Eventually I used some very lightly patterned paper and added stamped bubble wrap in pink and blue inks to create my own background.
So my receipe:
1 piece plain cardstock – the blue strip behind the photos
2 patterned papers – two pieces of Basic Grey Euphoria papers. I’ve used some of this to make my flower as well.
3 photos – Emma eating pizza painted as a butterfly
4 word or 4 letter title – Just a Perfect Butterfly!
5 embellishments – butterflies, paper flowers, bling pearls, organza flower, clear gems
We hope everyone has fun with this one!

Great challenge this month. I hope I have actually used a real quote for this challenge!! I have done a layout of my daughter, Emma, enjoying “All the Fun of the Fair!” We were on a rope swing at a visiting fair in town. I am pulling my end one handed and taking photos with the other as I just had to capture Emma’s face just laughing out loud! I have used Echo Park papers and made some bunting with a little tag punch, rub on letters and Making Memories puffy letter stickers.

September Grid Challenge by Kathryn

This month’s challenge was really that! I am a circles and round corners girl and the thought of grids was really hard to start with, but I found these lovely ‘The Girl’s Paperie’ papers in my stash, with the little faux stitched squares which was perfect for my background grid. I added in some circles with the hanging bunting, butterflies, a rolled flower and rounded the corners of my photos and mats. I hope the mix of squares and rounded shapes works!

August Re-Do Challenge by Kathryn

Design Team Member Kathryn completed this Re-Do for the August Re-Do Challenge.  She said:

Hi everyone, what a great theme this month!! I loved going back to my very first scrapbook layout and re-creating in my current style. Well 4 years have certainly changed my style! My first layout was very basic, I only had one pad of cardstock and used some free papers from a magazine, a few heart stickers, alpha stickers and a piece of ribbon from a Christmas present, which I think is stuck down with glue stick! But.. it was my very first LO and all in all I still love it!

My re-do I have done using Echo Park and American Crafts papers. I just love these kind of colours together, they are so much fun. I have added some foiled woven sheets underneath to mat the photo. The flower was a plain white flower which I painted with The Stamp Man Moonglow Starburst Stains. They are so lovely, they have built in mica and create a lovely sheen. Prima bling and assorted ribbons finish it off. I have kept the title the same. Spudling is a nickname we gave to Emma when she was little!

July Red, White & Blue Challenge by Kathryn

Hi everyone, here is my entry for the Red, White and Blue challenge for July. First of all I struggled to not think of the Union Jack flag, I gradually realised I didn’t need to restrict myself quite so much! We have a bi-annual charity fundraising event in the UK called Comic Relief, where lots of comedians and other famous people lead and join in fund raising events for African and UK charity projects. The finale is a whole evening TV event called Red Nose Day and you can buy plastic red noses to wear. Maybe you have something similar where you are? Well here is my little clown wearing her red nose and posing for the camera. I had such fun making this layout, and I got a chance to use my red bobble ribbon to match Emma’s red nose. I have used Crate Paper and MME So Sophie papers, all distressed around the edges of everything using a Tim Holtz distressing tool. I added hand sown zig-zags, a few various ribbons and embellishments. The butterflies and flowers are from a lovely ephemera kit I won recently but I don’t know the make, so sorry, they came in a clear baggie! The large sentiment and the large flower are Cosmo Cricket papers. Have fun creating!

May Flower Challenge by Kathryn

I am really, really super, super pleased to be on the DT for Scrap Our Stash Challenge!!! Scrapbooking is a huge part of my life and I love being challenged to really use up my stash. Like many of us, I am sure, I buy way too much stuff and I need to be pushed to actually use it!! For the May challenge it was great to be able to use some of the jars of flowers I have gathered over the last few years, especially the purple ones. I love purple and I have a big kilner jar full of purple flowers, but I never seem to need that colour. The photo I have used this time was perfect though and I have gone to town! This is Emma at 2 years wearing my sunglasses on holiday. Sadly, as she gets older the willingness to pose for photos is receding rapidly!
Recipe:
Bazzill leaf embossed cardstock. I have painted a frame around the background to break up the empty space using willow and lettuce Adirondack dabber paints. I painted it in quite a slapdash way so it didn’t look too precise. · The papers are off cuts of Basic Grey Euphoria papers arranged so they are peeping out from behind the photo, and the edges inked with versa magic purple hydrangea ink. · The flowers are a mixture of Petaloo, Prima leaves (love these, on my second packet) and some lovely purple Iris flowers and roses. I have then added coordinating buttons and some bling gem flowers and a Rockstar gem title. Hope you like!

April Bring in the Sun by Kathryn

Design Team Member Kathryn submitted this layout for The April Bring in the Sun Challenge.  She said:  Scrap Our Stash Challenge theme is Sunshine. What a lovely challenge this has been during a chilly March, although the sun is shining as I type this, so lovely! Here is a layout of my daughter Emma, at about 20 months old here during our first overseas holiday in Mallorca in 2008. I have used the bright colours to reflect the sunny day at the beach (it was sunny, just doesn’t look it in these photos for some reason!), and to compliment Emma’s lovely bright swimming costume and Quack Quack the duck, which we still have! Recipe: · Making Memories Hilary Stamp shaped paper, with a selection of Bo Bunny yellow and orange dotty papers to make a sunshine background shape (Kitchen Spice and Ella Bella Blossom) · A mixture of Prima, Mulberry and other flowers in bright colours, highlighted with a variety of brads and diamond stickles. The flower pins are Maya Road trinket pins, which I love. I bought them recently passing a craft shop on my way down to my head office a few weeks ago (well I only made about an hour’s detour, lol) and I am desperate to get more of them in other colours. · I used a selection of bright ribbon and buttons to finish off and the title ‘Sun Girl’. I think the title is Papermania, but I gleefully throw all my packaging away all the time so I never have much idea who made some of my older stash!

Meet April Guest Design Team Member Kathryn

 Hi my name is Kathryn Adamson and I am really, really, really pleased to be a guest DT member this month for Scrap Our Stash! I have been scrapping now for nearly 4 years, since my little girl Emma was about 6 months old and I discovered my local craft shop and the rows of 12x12 paper. Since then I have also discovered a love for making cards and altering items, but my first crafty love is scrapbooking.

I live in the North of England and have been married to Dan for 7 years, we have Emma, 4 and two cats, Poppy and George. Emma will tell anyone who asks or who doesn’t ask for that matter, that George is fat and Poppy is little! My layout here is Emma when she was about 20 months old, sitting in my mum’s garden and making funny faces!

March Dust it off Challenge by Kathryn

Hi there
Thanks for a lovely theme this month, I have dusted off and used and it feels great!


I have posted this on my blog just now:  Scrap our Stash Challenge blog this month has a theme of 'Dust it Off' for March. I have done a layout of Emma, nearing a year old and crawling around pulling one of the special funny faces that she has. This challenge was great as it made me think about things I have bought ages ago and never used. I have dusted off my fabric collection and some appliqué work that I cut from one of Emma’s ruined t-shirts and made embellies with them.

Recipe:
· Bo Bunny dotty card stock in a lovely turquoise colour, distressed around the edges and highlighted with Adirondack Pool ink
· A variety of spotty and patterned fabric. I think the patterned ones are also K & Co papers, but I’m not sure what they are called. I ran them through the big shot using Tim’s tattered rose sizzix die and then sewed red buttons into the centers to pull them all together. I’ve then layered them around the page using pinflair glue.
· The branch is another piece of fabric, stuck onto an Aslan fabric tape sheet and then run through the big shot again using the branch with leaves bigz die.
· I have sprayed the paper doily with a mixture of Blue Mist and Cosmic Shimmer sprays.
· I finished it off with the cut out appliqué details from the old t-shirt.
