Sometimes the best way to finish a layout is to add the perfect Quote. So, the October Challenge is to use a quote - it can be any quote and you can use it however you want.
So pull out one of those quotes you've been saving for just the right page - and take the Quote Challenge.
As usual this challenge is not limited to layouts - your project can be anything that has to do with the challenge theme. And preferably your project will be completed with items from your STASH.
To take the challenge just email a picture of your project along with a brief description to: scrappinpsycho@live.com
Your project will be posted here on the blog and on October 31st, after midnight central time, a winner will be chosen. The winner will be offered a spot on the SOS Guest Design Team for the month of December.
Can't wait to see your projects!

Meet October Guest Design Team Member - Marie
I'm Marie! I've been crafting all my life, but have been an avid scrapbooker since early 2010. I started to scrapbook to document my husband and my first year of marriage, but it snowballed to a full time hobby and craft supply obsession! Later on, I dove into some card making as well! I consider my style to be versatile! I can do bright, color, fun projects and still be able to do some clean and simple pieces. I have also began to dabble into some 3D projects. I have a lovely 4 month old son, who is the inspiration on all my latest projects! I work full time as a mom and manager of a clothing store and still find time to craft in between!
Meet October Guest Design Team Member Alanna
Hi, I'm Alanna and I'm a 22 year old nursing student from Adelaide, Australia. I have been scrapbooking since October 2010 after stumbling upon a Kaisercraft outlet in Adelaide. I started by making a few OTP items for Christmas and some very simple Christmas cards. Over the uni holidays in January I really got into it and I haven't stopped! I recently took over a spare room in the house and I spend more time in my scrap corner than I do in my bedroom ;) I recently dived headfirst into the world of handmade embellishments by setting up my little "business" called Penguin Parade (find me on facebook or the blog: http://penguin-parade.blogspot.com/ I amazed myself in July this year when I was accepted onto my first ever design team, and I am now actually a member of two design teams!! From Screen to Scrap is a challenge blog based around movies, and Handmade Halo is a online scrapbooking store filled with gorgeous, unique handmade embellishments. I am honoured to be a guest designer this month here at Scrap our Stash challenge blog. I had so much fun with this month's challenge and I can't wait to see what you all come up with!! Feel free to come stalk me at my blog: http://scrapping-and-life.blogspot.com/

For this month's challenge, I did a canvas with scraps of some of my favorite paper. I made a calendar not too long ago with some paper from BoBunny. I loved it so much that I saved even the smallest pieces of scraps. I used them for this project. I painted the canvas first and then glued the scraps down in a grid. The "M" is cut from my Lyrical Letters Cricut Cartridge. After everything was finished, I added a coat of Modge Podge to protect it. And it looks great in my craft room!!

I made a quick little something for the grid challenge today :)For Christmas this year, I've decided to make little 3x3" cards with matching gift tags to give to family and friends. It's a lot quicker, and much better for the boys in my family who really don't care if I make them a card or not!! Here's my first one. I was inspired by the grid challenge and used circles instead of the standard squares in a grid. Hope you like!!Sorry for the horrible photo, it's dark here and I leave for work at 6 so no time to email you a better photo in the morning. Thanks,Alanna

Here is another Grid layout for the September Grid Challenge. Have I told you before I LOVE Grids!
I actually used the little square samples from the paper pack as the squares, and then punched the circles out of the remaining paper pack for the circles.
This is a picture of Jonathan meeting his new baby brother Isaac for the first time. The little embelishments say Sweet - Baby - Boy.

I used some fun hexagon paper for my grid pattern. I cut away some of the pattern and then reattached a few pieces on pop dots. Then I used my hexagon paper punch for my title.
For my grid I used a sheet of Time Savers grid paper. I love all these fun chipboard pieces from Basic Grey. And a few fun leaves gave the whole thing just enough color.

Here is my submission for the grid challenge (better late than never). I had some paper that was already a grid of squares, and then I made a larger grid of four squares, tilted it, and put the pictures on that. This was definitely something that used up papers, letters, and embellishment stickers in my stash!
Thanks!

September Grid Challenge by Joni
Hi...Joni here... sharing a little something different in the concept of grids.....
I LOVE grids...so if I could fill up every post this month with grid layouts...but I would never torture you guys like that....
But I DID want to share something kinda "untraditional" grid... something you may not think of as a grid...but really it is.....
I chose to use one piece of patterned paper for this layout... and one with vertical stripes to accent my design. I then stitched (unevenly in some spots....by accident..lol!!)... a big square and then broke down the square into Three columns.... then I placed my photos and little extra pieces of paper and doodles to complete the columns... I consider this a grid since it's very linear... and everything is spaced reasonably evenly in the columns...
(Paper is Basic Grey Out of Print)

This LO was so super quick for me- I cut out the 10x10 background and then used some scraps to make 3x3 squares- I didn't have enough to fill all nine but then again I wanted to show off the yellow zig zag paper underneath and have a space for a title. Anyway thanks for looking

This month’s challenge was really that! I am a circles and round corners girl and the thought of grids was really hard to start with, but I found these lovely ‘The Girl’s Paperie’ papers in my stash, with the little faux stitched squares which was perfect for my background grid. I added in some circles with the hanging bunting, butterflies, a rolled flower and rounded the corners of my photos and mats. I hope the mix of squares and rounded shapes works!
Have fun!

Here is my take on the grid challenge this month- This was alot of fun to work with. I used scraps from a layout I did earlier today and then used my scalloped punch to made the grid pattern with. Then I found a picture and everything fell into place with the title and the buttons and the cute flag banner . I used misc. chipboard letters and painted then black with white dots to really pop. I will surley be using this grid pattern on more future layouts. I also have a post on my blog http://debbiebakk.blogspot.com/Debbie BakkNow it's your turn to take the September GRID Challenge. September Challenge by Christy
When most people think of a grid design in scrapbooking, they tend to think of photos and papers evenly aligned. Yet here I was, painting wayward lines in a grid pattern on a piece of cardstock. The lines came first, and then came the photo. I began placing page elements around it...some floating free, other held fast with a bit of hand stitching. The placement is sort of haphazard with a plan. Fussycut items are anchored to the grid while the eye flows across it. The page reminds me of how my cat was rolling across the rug...and I hope it gives a sense of motion as you view it. I myself can see him now, wiggling and moving, pausing just long enough to shoot me that imploring look.
In the making of this page, I have come to realize two things. 1. I almost never use a frame as a frame. I almost always cut it apart. Sometime earlier this year, I came to the realization that I am allowed to alter and use the items in my stash as I want to. So if there is something in your stash, like a frame, and you want to cut it apart or change the colour of it, go for it! 2. One of my favourite tools is my hole punch. Yep, just a cheap school supply style hole punch! It works wonders on many pages. In this case, I punched out tiny stars from the patterned paper and sprinkled them on my page.
There is still plenty of time for you to try out the grid challenge at Scrap Our Stash. We would love to see your work, and you could win a spot on our Guest Design Team! See all the details HERE!

September Grid Challenge by Ren-Yi
This month at our Scrap Our Stash's September Challenge we are creating with the theme Grid. When I think grid, I think of playing the game Dots & Boxes, graph paper, and Tic-Tac-Toe. And since I am always short of cards that I need, I was going to create an anniversary card (for the parents): I decided a fun play on X's and O'x to say "XO, XO, XO" would be cute. Does it come across?
Some people think that it's too much of a stretch. That someone is also a boy ;) In case it does not, here is the sentiment to spell out it's suppose to be a love-y, dove-y card.
So I hope you have a chance to enter our grid challenge...Check out the Scrap Our Stash's September Challenge. You have until the end of the month to finish up something with grids, so don't forget to enter!

September Grid Challenge Mary Pat
Hi Everyone,
Mary Pat here with my take on this month's Grid challenge. I really like the grid style. There are so many different ways to create a gird. I decided to make a grid using circles instead of squares.
Inside each circle I placed either a different emellishment or a button. I also included my journaling in one of journaling circles.

I decided to do something for Fall for Wendy's Pagerize This. In Washington State, when you think of fall, you think of Fairs! My husband and I love going to the Puyallup fair every year! We don't do the rides, we go for the food!! Gotta love fair food! They've got everything from Elephant Ears, to funnel cake, to corn on the cob, and even some pizza on a stick!
For this LO I used DCWV's Ultimate Premium Stack! I pretty much stuck to Wendy's fall theme and color scheme.

Here is my layout for the September grid challenge. I had the picture of my son from a few years ago and found I hadn't scrapped it yet (forsome strange reason). I started to do a large grid with his picture and patterned paper but decided on a small grid of squares instead. I accented the squares with rhinestones and stars. The orange background is fabric I picked up on clearance this past summer. I am happy with the way the small grid turned out. This layout was all orange and gold at first, but I decided it needed an accent color. Hence, the blue. It is a little out there in terms of color combinations (compared to what I normally do), but I found I liked the way it turned out.

I decided to lift the LO of the LO (if you see what I mean)
i also decided to make my own background paper ( based on a very old piece of paper I used recently - you can find it here. The old paper had a stitched effect on it- so I made one of my own.
The LO is about our last night in the Netherlands before we moved back to the UK- its a group photo of us around a light in the ground in Utrecht after our last evening meal out.

I'm not sure why I found this challenge so, well, challenging (lol) but I did. Although I love layouts that are done in a grid format, I have never tired one before so I was a little intimidated. Anyway, a couple of days ago I was looking through my latest edition of Creating Keepsakes magazine and found a wonderful layout done by Kathie Link--the topic was actually on how to cluster embellishments, but her layout was in a grid. I loved it and that is what I have done here, "pagerized" Ms. Link (and had fun using up scraps and embellishments in the process!) The products I used were: Cardstock--Bazzill; Patterned Paper--Echo Park, Cosmo Cricket, and My Mind's Eye; Embellishments--Maya Road, Prima, Cosmo Cricket, Want 2 Scrap, and miscellaneous butterflies and buttons; Letter Stickers--American Crafts Thickers. I had a blast with this challenge and I'm already planning out some more grid layouts!

I was inspired by this months grid challenge with a layout in the September issue of Creating Keepsakes listed under tips and tricks, making the most out of your punches" . I used my Stampin up scallop square punch to make my grid background. I love how the soft blues blended with the pattern papers I chose. I added a rick rack edge up the side and some buttons for this simple look. I also matted my photos so they would stand out a little better. This is my son and his wife who just had a baby this past month. It was easy to pick a title with these darling photos.
