Happy Hump Day!

Today, we have DT Steffanie's fabulous layout to inspire you! 

Here's what Steffanie said about her layout:

"First off let me just say this---I happen to LOVE this sketch!

Changes I made to the sketch:  Not many. I misted and splattered the background with Dylusions and Heidi Swapp mists. I used two 4x6 photos instead of one 4x6 and two 3x4's. I eliminated the doily and the tag. A sticker became my title and in a slightly different place on my page. I added a small journal spot and some washi tape and an extra horizontal banner strip peeking out from behind my photo block. Simple changes that make me happy and still allow the sketch design to shine through!

For the stash part of the challenge, I used these items from the lists above:

graph paper (on the journaling card) hearts, hot pink

ink (multiple colors for inking the edges of my papers)

I do sing in the shower sometimes!), social game nights with friends, road trips and spending as much time in my scrap room as I can! I have a shabby chic romantic style and I love to dabble with mixed media techniques. I started scrapbooking in 2004, starting blogging about it in 2011 and it has been a marvelous adventure ever since!  I have had many wonderful designing opportunities throughout the years and I am now thrilled to be a Guest Designer for Scrap Our Stash!  I really hope that you will enjoy my creations this month and that you will visit my blog Scrap-Utopia to see more."

Here's what Nicole shares about her layout:
What a wonderful sketch this is and it enabled me to dig up a lot of old stash.  Papers used are from My Mind's Eye including the graphic paper behind the picture of my nieces.  I love graphic paper so that was an easy choice for me out of list 1.  Out of list 2, I decided to go with Heidi Swapp Citron Color Shine spray on the background as well as the 'epic' epoxy sticker as part of my title.  List 3 was a bit more of a challenge, but I finally decided to add some subtle polkadot design using a Heidi Swap stencil and walnut stain Ranger Distress ink pad.  I also did some doodling and some journaling with a marker.  Thank you once again to Scrap Our Stash for having me as a Guest Designer this month and for the inspiration for this fun bright layout! :)

I was inspired by the colors in this month's book cover, and the colors in the 

Pebbles " Bloom" Page Kit included in 

The ScrapRoom's March Flavors of the Month Kit

worked perfect,

For the gold stash part of the challenge, 

I used Pebble's Gold Word Stickers for my title work,

Crate Paper's Foil words and the gold arrow paper clip,

all from the March Kits at The ScrapRoom.

My page design was inspired by TSR March "Be Our Guest" Sketch

"Zsoka here today, sharing my layout for this month's book cover inspired challenge. I loved this color palette! These are some of my favourite colors, so it was a no brainer to go with these. Then the title reminded me I have no craft room; I use a part of our kitchen where I can scrap standing. I find it very hard to keep this space tidy and organized, hence the title Room for improvement! I do dream of having a big room just for myself, but I have been dreaming of it for like 20 years now, so...I'll make do with what I have! For the second part of the challenge, I used two different gold alphas, gold thread and there are gold accents on the vellum under the photo and the kraft paper tag on the left! I hope you will play along with us this month too!"

"The white background and pink color were my starting point. I tried to recreate some sort of banner with my bubbles. I wanted this layout be as sparkling as my son in the photo. As for my gold accent, I've used little stars and gears that I dispersed around my layout, wire thread around my photo and a gold hand-cut title."

"For this challenge, I was so excited for the bright colors and including gold. My typical go-tos! "I was inspired by the colours of the book cover. LOVE those colours! I used some mist on the background paper to get those colours. 

I was also inspired by the banner. My banner is the arrow with my title. 

I think that the book cover was a bit "messy" and I tried to create a messy layout. 

At last I´ve added some gold embellishments.

There´re my 3 children in the photos and they are the love of my life.

"I was really inspired by the colors in the book cover, they really are some of my favorite colors! The book also reminded me of a desk, and I remembered this photo I had taken of my daughter working hard on school work. I had no problem adding gold letters and embellishments to my layout, I seriously have a ton of gold stuff in my stash. The book has lots of layers between everything on the desk, so that inspired me to add lots of layers on my page, which really works."

"Say Cheese" Layout by Designer Steffanie

Good morning!

Today we are sharing an incredible layout created by SOS Designer Steffani,

inspired by our 

March Book Inspired Stash Challenge:

Steffanie:

"What inspired me immediately from the book cover was the banner. I still have a small love affair with banners...and, let's face it...the colors on the book cover scream "girl" to me and I just don't have photos like that, much less supplies! Even this photo with just ME in it would not go with the colors on this cover. Yes, I could have looked harder and found something else to inspire me, but, I like banners. So that's what I went with.

In looking through my supplies, I came across this Sn@p! Card from the Simple Stories Say Cheese II collection which provided the perfect space for my banner. I used a couple of small gold brads to anchor the banner at each end and also used some gold sequins scattered across my page. To further extend the gold requirement of the challenge, I used my Silhouette to cut the Mickey outline and my title from some scraps of gold paper. This made me realize something---I NEED MORE GOLD PAPER!! I wish I had cut my title a little larger but, as I said, it was a scrap. No chance for a do-over. That's okay...I still like it.

The Challenge:

Create a layout inspired by the BOOK COVER.. 

You are allowed to use anything from the cover that inspires you,

for instance, the banner, the colors, title, etc.

AND...you must include GOLD embellishments and/or

GOLD alphas on your page.

"What a pleasure it was to create this layout inspired by this fun and pretty book cover! There was many shabby chic elements that were just perfect for my style, from the colors to the overall celebratory feel. I added hearts just like in the image and many gold embellishments 

along with my title.
